Hey - put it this way - if Skylines weren't so popular - We would not be having this discussion on this forum right now.

It's all good people.

Just get another car , if you want a unique car - or turn your skyline into a convertible - I'd like to see that !

ive done the 8 thing (vl com 336 injected stroker) now im born again boost junkie ,dont get me wrong the como was good but then again your easily impressed when your 19 , rotary i dont know i cant say that i wont ever try , how do you know if you dont try?

Take a trip to the country..... most people think the (a) skyline is the r31

or Pintara....

You wont see many imports in Rural area's.

My hometown is Armidale and when the girly and i go there... the population o skyline's blow out to three. Mine, an r32 and another R33 like mine.

plus 2 silvia's and a soarer. That's it!!

i dont own a line i see em all the time and yet i still cant take my eyes of em even if there stock as a rock im lookin forward to the day i can cruise in my own

I've one for over a year now and I still can't help but check out other Skylines :) I just love these cars to death, well the R32's and onwards anyway.

I've done the Commodore V8 thing for 4 years, but now I'll only go back there if I need to tow a boat. ie, if I end up with more money than I know what to do with.

I don't buy cars for their rarity. I either like it or not and don't care about how many were made. I also like affordable spare parts and not having to wait 6 months for them to arrive from the other side of the world.

wouldnt touch a rotor with a ten ft pole.

but yeah

they are more common, you can pick the enthusists (had a few, spelling?) from the dickheads, just look for the dodgy bodykit, and them revvin the shit out of it at the lights, then stall it when they try to take off quick.

Very true about the perspective thing Akira but I'd have to dissagree with you about your statistics comment. Which statistics are these and where can I see them? These days for every HSV there are 3 Skylines (and you can bet I'm not coming from a biased viewpoint). It's very obvious and it doesn't take statistics to see it. As far as performance cars are concerned Skylines are outnumbering every other car. Not that it's a bad thing. At least parts are getting cheaper therefore insurance will drop and more choices when buying one etc etc.

Hey 2forty,,,your kidding aern't you. 3 Skylines for every HSV. Man you been sniifin that white stuff through pushrods for too long man. Skylines are not that common,,,we just all look for them,,,much the same as I can spot an M3 from 1/2 a kay away. As a little project I sat outside work today while eating my lunch and counted 2 Skylines 9 HSV's and 5 Hot BA's,,,start counting Hippo BA's,,, their ranks are growing by the day.

Neil.

well i can tell you i'm not looking out for skylines and i see at least three every day. i drive past the habibs at tempe tyres each day and there's one there more often than not.

and i do see about 15 HSV's but unfortunately they are all parked at Parkside Motors at Tempe.

anyhoo...

i reckon. one of my mates has one for sale that's a bit of a machine. i'm tempted to have a drive since he doesn't care much about it anymore but i'm not going to in case i smash it. wouldn't that suck.

the datto is sleeping atm. one of the uni joints has cracked and it's still holding on but any hard acceleration off the mark and it'll break. saving up the dosh to convert it to cv's. some HR31 units are going in so she'll have some Skyline blood in her. :P

I'm thinking,,,,RX7 S3 mild work 13B Carby,,,shit did I say carby= light,,,short wheel base, revs like mad and would give both of us hell. Rotors are so cool,,pity the habibs have given them a bad name. I just love the sound of a worked rotor.

I gotta get you outta that old shcool car and into a rotor.

Neil.

well i don't give a shit if they're becoming common...i still get excited when i see another one :P And down here there's still not heaps. More than there used to be, but I'd be lucky to see 3 a week (that's normal driving around...you'd see heaps more if you go cutting laps around Braddon on a Friday night :) )

As for "as common as commondores"...no way! If you're talking every model of commodore, they're like every 3rd car you see!

and into the workshop

take up alot of time and money

sure they are fun, great acceleration when you strap a turbo on them, but utter chaos with the cops and the mechanical

that's why it's an enthusiasts car. if you don't know how to work on it yourself don't even bother thinking about it. i guess that rules me out. :D but the new rotors aren't as bad as what everyone makes them out to be. they are way more reliable than your old rx3's etc

I've done the 4 pot turbo, 6 straight twin turbo, now it's time for something else (ie. no 200/180, another line, supra, soarer, etc...) Like two40 said, you gotta try something else and it'll probably be a NA motor.

    • Plan on the day will be to park trackside. Depending on space availability we will try put a small shade tent and a few of the cars on top of the hill inside turn 3, this is an easy to get to parking area with views of Turn 2, Turn 3, Turn 4 and Turn 5 and limited other pieces of the view around the track. IMPORTANT NOTE! One consideration from previous years is from memory the trackside parking sells out before the admission tickets, for that reason I encourage anyone planning on coming to buy tickets for parking now via the official website; https://www.worldtimeattack.com/ The type of parking you are looking for is 2 Day Park & View (Access Around Venue) Vehicle Pass Only Please note this does not include admission to the event itself, remember to grab that also, and kids under 12 get in for free!
    • This is going to be a mid week evening cruise. Come along and join us for a drive out to Palm Beach. This is a change of event plans after talking to some of the older members of the club. If this is what you want please come to one of our track days. This is an official SAUNSW event and will be run under a Motorsport Australia permit. One of the things that really sets our club apart is our commitment to being true enthusiasts. • Good time for a carbon roof
    • Not in any way aroused by any of those, except maybe the big AMGs. And that would break my never a Euro, ever, rule.
