Invest in one of those microwave sensor things... you know, the ones which beep when someone walks close to your car?

I've got one installed and it sends a little message to my remote for the alarm. It's very handy! I was in marion a few weeks ago and my remote was beeping in my pocket, so I quickly walked out to the car and found they took all 4 of my BBS tyre pressure cover things (those things you unscrew when you pump up your tyres). I wasn't impressed! But they left 1 on the ground near the car. They must have gotten a shock from the car beeping at them!

Sure they can't stop someone from breaking into your car, but at least it can warn you of what's happening when you're away from your car!

Wait a second... they drove away? (I assume in a car). And I'm pretty sure your bro got their rego... I don't think they'll be trying to steal another skyline any time soon.

What makes you think that car theives would be driving their own car or that the number plates on the car they were driving even belong to that car ?

In such cases, having their rego doesn't mean jack.

Wouldn't it be more likely that any getaway car used by car thieves would likely be a stolen car or a car with stolen plates on it ?

+1

The thing that shits me off about break-in is the way they break in and if they fail to steal the whole car - it leaves you with the damage bill which usually isnt worth claiming insurance for but still enough to shit you off and leave a dent in the wallet.

Which can be balanced out by the hospital bill you can give them :D

car they rokd up in was stolen as well so no help there with the rego.

there are btr ways than an alarm to protect ur car. quick release boss kits are one, no steering wheel means they arnt goin very farr. an there are many other ways that COST nothin but time to insure ur car dosnt go missing

hmm, that's bad news Kahli...........don't suppose your brothers managed to catch one or as Cubes said, get a number plate?

The damage on your car stinks but could've been worse I suppose.

yeah could of looked like my car did when someone tried breaking into it haha 5k worth of damage done to mine :) heres a pic of my door handle

wish there was some sort of way that we could electrify our doorhandles....

very true heslo

sucks to see/hear that imports are major attraction to these low life scums

my mate was calling shannons to just get a quote on a 33 gtr

and he was told that skylines are in he top 3 with wrx's for being the most target car

UNFORTUNATELY... you cant use lethal tactics against the scumbag criminals. You have to call the police and await for them to come to your aid........ as soon as they finish handing a few defects along the way

    • Good to hear. Hopefully you're happy enough not to notice when driving and just enjoy yourself.
    • I mean, most of us just love cars. Doesnt necessarily have to be a skyline.
    • Did you pick up a manual cluster to remove the position indicator?  (Pretty sure the 34 has the gear position in the cluster, but it's been a while)
    • Here is a recipe. Sonic blocks till you get one that has a good enough bore. Get a torque plate and block brace, use your choice of fasteners (arp ect) bolt the thing together empty, half fill it and let it cure. Release it when it has, go to a REPUTABLE RB Builder and get the thing line bored/honed and cylinder honed to size, then wash. Once its all clean and dandy, wash and blow it out again. Then again.  Assemble said engine to your desired clearances with oil control mods, gasket to suit desired CR/Squish ect. Attach your extended sump with proper trap door oil baffles and head drain plumbed to sump with a SUMP BREATHER SYSTEM. Build your front diff with a decent LSD, rebuild your transfer case with a few extra plates, more than likely replace your tailshaft centre bearing and tighten up the rear diff. Tune to minimise excessive midrange cylinder pressure (timing unless you like to split bores and rebuild engines) Enjoy your engine, but hate the fact you are now destroying engine mounts, gearboxes, gearbox mounts, diff output flanges and driveshafts, diff mounts, tailshafts and front CV's.   Disclaimer.... Ive never done any of the aforementioned stuff.......
    • 440s will support well over 400HP on petrol, which is a decent place to be for an RB20. 230+rwkW. Will be a safer bet for idle/low load. 550s would be nice for the extra headroom. I've made the same decision with mine (Neo25). 1000s are probably too big for the Nistuned ECU, so I have some smaller ones.
