Ummm its a 26 dude......

So how did this thing go in Autosalon?

3 words

semis+dyno=fail.

customer left his semis on and it would not ride the rollers.... only spin....i was not there on sat to tell him to swap on some hard shitty tyres but offered to be there on sunday to tune it to suit the ramp rate only to be told not enough time.. very dissapointing.

Due to the ramp they were using most cars were off but those who took the time to quickly tune to the ramp rate did well.. darrens supra pulled well over 1100hp on sunday (to take out top spot, then they put the GAS car back on to beat it.... ) but pulled 700hp the day before... dwayne from hi-torque did a stellar job to bring it up to suit the dyno conditions.... if only we had a chance to do the same, im sure we would have pulled mid 900's based on sats results.

EPIC FAIL

these were the only words required.

I knew the car wouldn't run the numbers in real world testing under competition conditions.

Having seen what drag radials do on dyno rollers, I'd be kicking the owner in the arse for not swapping them for something hard and shitty.

X2. I couldnt crack 350 hp on semis then spun it out to over 500 with some hard streeters.

were people cleaning the rubber from their faces?

I remember watching the mighty BU5TER on the rollers at Powercruise at ECR and they turned to mush and sprayed everyone with melted rubber. It was spectacular but not great for big numbers.

LOL dont hold back paul, tell us what u really think

hehe... :)

Hey i call it like it is...it upsets people and rubs them up the wrong way on occasions but thats their problem.

He had his chance to prove all the naysayers wrong...and with all eyes on him he was foolish to not ensure the car was up to it.

I may have been too generous with my 800hp prediction. :(

Amatuers at their best. All that time effort and money for a dismal result. Oh well better luck next time.

And maybe Autosalon should notify all competitors on what ramp rate they're going to use so everyone can tune their car accordingly. What a load of crap. Take it to the track where the true results are revealed.

465.3 KW/624 HP :/

yeah something like that, same as the supra on saturday (bout 300rwkw short and 650-700hp on sat, then retuned on sunday pulled 1200hp).... all in the dyno operator.... it would have been easy to pull the right numbers with a bit of tuning to suit the way they were running....

    • I've got a 2011 J50 that I imported six years ago. The unmodified factory AV system date and time has always been correct ( Japanese timezone of course ) up until last month. About two weeks ago, at engine start, the system wished me a happy new year ( in Japanese of course ). I can't think of anything that would make the system think that the date had changed, unless the GPS component has failed/reset somehow ? I checked the GPS reception in the system settings, and it can still see the satellites. Has any other J50 owner had this happen ?  It's no biggie, just annoying that it tells me the wrong date anytime I start the engine. 😅
    • Love following your adventures on IG, hopefully if you're still around in Japan when we visit again wouldn't mind going for a few beers with you (that's if you're keen on hearing how I hate Nissans).
    • ok so if i wanted to go 18's i would go for 8's  in front 30+ or 32+ off set at front and the back 9 would be ok? what offset should i aim for.. then can i do some  hunting for wheel rim choices..    If i get this - will this fit all around: Size: 18 x 8.5 +37 - n what tyres size tyre should i get for front n back?
    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
