ok, just got a response back from Willshires.

The best they can do is $240.

I was hoping for cheaper, but "As for a special price, due to the (hand stitched) nature of this work, larger volumes of wheels are of no extra advantage.

However what we can offer is an exclusive price to you $240 inc gst per wheel."

RRP is $264 inc gst apparently, so not a big saving, but some nonetheless. Let me know who is keen.

can they do ummm like an embossing?

I was thinking keep my wheel all black around the out side and where the 12 o'clock is on the wheel have GTR embossed on it? in red and silver

also may be a silly question but do i need to remove the wheel or can they do it on car?

you listen to 102.3? :O

nah it looks very nice mate, mines starting to get a bit of wear and tear so i'd be keen to do it :(

LOL, i got busted

i have a few different stations i cycle through, but i like a bit of easy listening every now and then

or is that what you put on when you get pulled over  no cop will believe a hoon listens to easy listening

$240's not to bad they want the steering wheel on or off the car?

20bucks better than nothing

call me boring my i like my live stock steering wheel just needs some fresh cow hide on there

From memory they need the wheel off the car for a day. Definitely can't do it on the car - it involves hand sewing - would not be possible to do while on a vehicle.

I think all Nissan steering wheels fit other Nissans, so you could put any old wheel to put on your car for a day, while your wheel was being done. I could be wrong though - has anyone tried a different wheel on their R33/R34?

I would LOVE to get my hands on a Momo factory R34 steering wheel, but they are as rare as hen's teeth.

i just fitted a Nardi deep corn steering wheel on my car, has that deep look and red stitching. Make sure BEFORE u take your steering wheel off to disconnect the battery, if u dont the air bag light will come on and stay on until u visit nissan and get them to turn it off (or just remove the globe)

what ever you do dont drop the steering wheel as the air bag might come out, and they cost........7k to replace

Also in some cases if the air bag comes out in a small crash most insurance companies will write the car off as u need a new dash, and airbag.

GTR owners dont need no pansy ass airbag nonce sense.

-D

i dont drive my car as a daily so they can take there time during the week with it.

yea luke some of us dont have airbags ;) r33 n 34 gtr's have airbags though, hence why 32's have the smaller funky style wheel.

^^^ yeah, same with me. not using my car as a daily i could leave it there as long as they needed it. but they had it finished the very next day!

i was glad not too have an airbag wheel too, but the wheel was still a pain in the ass to get off

I think Im going to do this also - mine has seen better days.

Mainly because I bought another steering wheel off an R32 that is almost mint and the bloody thing wont fit. Its a factory wheel, the front looks the same but the back is a little different - and it kinda needs to be upside down and off to one side for it to fit the HICAS sensor provision in the wheel.....lol.

    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
    • I also used NP   That’s were it’s seems to be the best place to fit it? All schematic shows also that it’s should be referenced from the turbo housing. But idk, I do see high hp cars without any connection or anything to their turbos, so I really don’t know how they connect their things
    • I do have loctite 243 and 246 and a few more models. I could drill it now in place and make new threads for m12 and order an4 - m12 coupling and fit that to the turbo. Run a braided hose to the EBC which I could get a an4 to 1/8npt
