Last night several notices were issued to cars with wheels that were too big and others that had been lowered for better cornering.

Cant have that, wheels might provide better grip, and cars that handle better - WTF is going on! Its bloody outrages...

Chief Inspector Rod Smith from Blacktown police said residents contacted police after hearing the cars screeching down 500m stretch of road in a normally quiet industrial area.

So why didnt the local residents of the industrial area get done for squating??????

"It's a weekend problem the locals are becoming more aware of it and contacting police," Chf Insp Smith said. "The locals phone up very concerned that someone is going to kill themselves."

Yeah, I am sure that they are really concerned - bunch of no life farks.

Australia is such an old fart country , i mean look at all the cooking version models they bring out in Australia instead of the good models.

Unfortunately this is not likely to change anytime soon if ever, Australia is just to small and the police are to bored, so for something to fill their doughnut breaks they come and pick on us.

Also doesnt help that residents are all old farts, and if u make a bit of noice you may interupt there viewing of All Saints or Blue heelers ...... heaven forbid!!!!

Makes u feel like moving to Japan , except im told things are uba expensive and the food stinks :(.. but still worth it to be able to go to a street drift event "any" time of the week... yes any night of the week!.. pretty cool huh.

Miss*33 and RedlinrGTR, its predominantly Subaru WRXs and Nissan Skylines because the others cant keep up. Lets face it only an idiot would line up their HK Monaro against a GTR. (ulless they had spent a sh**load on the monaro to make it go)

4door_sleeper, when you consider the cost of a fully built V8, dollar for dollar an old monaro would destroy a stock or even mildly modded GTR.

A mate in WA had a XE 351 that ran 11s, cost under 20k. Parts are soooo much cheaper, no need for ecus, no need for an intercooler, no need for a turbo, etc.

You are correct... when it comes down to it, it is a public street which has laws, and racing is breaking those laws. There are plenty of arguements we can come up with but when it comes down to it, if you take part in street racing, regardless of where it is, it's illegal.

Doesn't mean people aren't going to do it - same as drugs or stealing or killing. But if you get caught, there's no point bitching and complaining, because i..t i..s i..l..l..e..g..a..l

However I do feel that there is a difference between say going on an organised orderly car cruise, and fast 'n' furious style closed street racing. I guess they think that a group of cars on a cruise are out to go street racing... that's what I find annoying.

my 2c :)

At least they were in an industrial non-residential area and not on the highway. If the driver is going to drag then they will do it regardless of whether the cops catch em or not, and if they don't know how to control their car, or they are taking the risk of dragging in the first place, then let em **** there car up and injure themselves, no-one else is being hurt. Better they are in an industrial area rather than a busier road (i.e. the highway) where there is potential for innocent people getting hurt

Well see the whole problem is the public liability BS.

If some dumb blond gets run over by the ricer in his type R who looses it there's a whoooole lot of problems...

That said... what i'd like to see happen is to find some kind of unsed industrial area or an area that isn't used after a certain time (where there are no residants in ear shot... like out at wetheral park or something etc) close the street during the set time close the street add in just enough orginisation just to keep the cops happy (maybe they could send a token cop to spectate or something... hey... who wants to drag the cop car ?? um no ... ok maybe not :D) ... but yeah...

if the gov can sanction herioin use in injecting rooms

whats wrong with with a few street races (which could be made legal by special permits or something).

Well they do give us drag days, maybe they should drop the price on that :uh-huh:

u guys remember in fast and furious 1 where they were at that desert drag battle thing?? it looked like it was in an old air strip ... why can't we have events like that here ... make people sign something so they can't sue the organisers ... ???

and yeah i'd just like to say driving along anzac highway tonite ... there were so much mother ****ers in vns and vps and one in this wagon ... think it might of been an old toyota ... bloody dicks think they're race drivers ... cutting people off and shit like that ... did not see one copper trying to stop that shit ... if they actually cared they'd be out in force on friday and saturday nights pulling these ****wits over ...

well they are certainly out in force... but looking for the wrong things.

Instead they pull a mate over for talking on his mobile phone for 10 seconds, or stop people for stupid reasons rather than catching the maniacs risking everyone's lives doing their "traffic racing".

.. gee we moan and complain alot...achieves nothing :D

So the cops are out to get us or so im hearing ive only had my r33 gtst for two months .Now i hear about it .so i am an old guy 40 but i dont know but if your car is modified ,but nothing to obvious they are just going to pull you over and defect you for the hell of it .doesnt it also rely on your attitude to the police ,and if you were being a dick before hand thats a different matter .Im banking that im a old guy the cops will go easy and think well he isnt a hoon so we will let him of but thats my plan . I dont want to get paraniod when i go out as my car has been lowered 35mm hksbov and turbo timer etc this is all illegal but much safer than a lot of other cars you see on our roads in sa . also no cat and momo wheel the list goes on so if its that bad I picked a real bad time to buy one I do have a cat that just bolts in ,does anyone really know about items like the cat is there a fine or not i hear 1000 10000 dollars but that sounds like bull .I would bolt the old cat back on before regency surely bald tyres are more dangerous than a missing cat (ps extra 8kw on dyno ) you dont get a huge fine for that. I heard that most cops dont know what to look for anyway are they going to measure the clearance height etc or just defect you I really would like to know .Attitude or cops bored

    • sold listed as a Tomei LSD 1.5 Way For 1998+ Nissan Skyline ER34 25GT RB25DE w/Open R200 https://www.ebay.com/itm/174006114594?campid=5338967980&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&toolid=10050&customid=&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&loc_physical_ms=108689&loc_interest_ms=&campid=5338967980&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&toolid=10050&customid=71883f2ccc571356e0a757bc7adfdde2&mkrid=710-53481-19255-0&loc_physical_ms=108689&loc_interest_ms= it went in like butter all gears, alignment, back lash etc, rotation and clearances correct, and if rolling all rotates smooth and free when coasting down road , clutch in or out over 10 mph smooth... its the binding, clunking and jerking from a stop that is most concerning, also seems like its going to tear the tires off in 10 miles of normal road driving.
    • What 1.5 way? There's no such thing really as a 1.5 way, just different ways of explaining 2 ways with different ramp rates. HOWEVER. In any driving in a straight line your 1.5 or 2 or 1.7 way should have no clunking at all. With the clutch fully depressed the diff should be silent (unless it's welded but I'm assuming it's not). Something aint right here.
    • Clutch is a spec brand, new clutch system,( PP, flywheel, friction disc, etc. pull type) installed 100 miles ago, with no problems.
    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?
