Ill check mine tonight. So bascially you guys are saying if the numbers are engraved its reason to be abit sus.

Its funny because I generally like a nice neat, engraved plate. I hate the stickers you know get for compliance etc. From memory I think mines engraved, but has been fasted and everything lines up fine, right down to the factory options it came with.

interesting...

However I will confirm once I get home from work tonight

Sort of related......... There is a website called japanodometercheck.com havent been brave enough to look yet but its a site where u can pay a fee ($60 for one off queery, or $200 for an account for as many as u want) then provide your vin/chassis number. The japanese auction house data bases will be searched on your behalf and the cars actual mileage at auction reported back to you?

Anyone used it?

BTW My Stag has r34 and plate is just barely feelably engraved.?

ok r33s should have smooth plates and r34s should have engraved plates is what i have heard..

i like this guy...he gives a straight foward answer..even if he is mistaken....anyone heard anything else like this??

i just got pm'd from a guy that has a r34 and his plate is thinnly engraved like mine....i asked him if his car is non turbo or turbo....because thats what i have narrowed down the diffrence 2...hopefully this will answer some questions...i have also pm's some other ppl who have rb25de's and ill post up what they say....so far i have had r34 gtt's telling me they have smooth..and i have r33's telling me they have engraved...

Yea dude thats what it looks like. Atm we have the r34 gtt's with smooth blue plates and the r34 gt's (rb25de engines) with the engraved......this is good....if any more r34 gtt's and r34 gt's can confirm this it would be great....

just check my r34 (gtfour na), its lightly engraved.

The plate itself is so finely engraved i doubt any dodgy person would beable to redo it by hand, its just too neat.

Im not worried haha, i know the guy that owned it previously and it was a personal import, shes a pearla :D

To be honest. The plate on my GTT i think is printed, only because the lookd of it. The writing is also white which i think is a dead give away. However, it did take me a while to decide.

In the end the fact the writing is white not silver says to me its printed :D

my writing is also white but its slightly engraved? =/

ok this could lead to be a problem...if people cant figure out if ther plates are engraved or not....for all we know each persons observation could be diffrent from the others.....and it wouldnt be proper to start posting pictures of our blue plates up.... so we cant compare blue plates like that.... the only thing i can think of is on the next big cruise ( for me it will be the hill's meet-up posted in the nsw events forum) we just all look at eachothers blue plates and compare...thats the only thing i can think of...

this is still confusing the hell out of me tho,you would think that nissan would be consistent on this matter - you would think that they would have some sort of system atlest for each r model....and i cant imagine all these ppl having rebuilds or rebirths....

    • They are, a good friend of mine bought one to replace his blow factory turbo, running a Toshi Tune reflash. Just use their supplied water/oil lines and you're good to go. At the time, they were like $900 delivered.
    • This is an option for 100% bolt on, the GCG high flow -  https://gcg.com.au/turbo-charger-upgrade-skyline-gtst-2iu-xtrgts-s1.html Also, I'm pretty sure hypergear does a high flow that is 100% bolt on, it just doesn't make as much power as their bigger high flows.  Even if you get a hypergear turbo that requires you to chance the intake piping, it is a really simple modification. It can be as simple as a piece of silicon hose and you pop a filter on the end. It doesn't have to be some crazy pie cut titanium work of art intake pipe.  If you have the ability to swap the turbo yourself, you would be able to sort the intake piping out.
    • Just as a thought, if it's in neutral, thats your drive line disconnect, not the clutch. Clutch slip at the dyno with pedal fully out, is actually adding a second disconnect. So it's not a clutch issue if you're in neutral. Just a bit of friction dragging the output around while in the air.
    • The HG high flow is excellent, and costs about the $$ you're talking about. But it, and probably every other highflow, uses a diffeent core than the original turo, and the original Hitatchi core is quite long. So, I think it is inevitable that there is likely no such thing as a highflow that just "bolts on" with no other effort required. And the same is likely true for HG's outright replacement "bolt on" turbos (the ATR things). And the same is likely true for anything similar from elsewhere. I have no idea if the cheap Chinese/Taiwanese complete turbos from eBay/Temu/etc are as bolt on as they claim. I mean, they claim the bolt onto the NAs as well as the turbos, and we know that can't be "bolt on". But it wouldn't matter because I'm not buying a $169 4 psi turbo for anything other than a paddock basher.
    • Bummer...yeah i "need" something to "ease" up the work and for my driving it would be enough.    Iam counting the tune "without" turbo. I do not mean "cheap" like something from Temu around 200 USD, "Cheap" is something around 1000 USD?
