sweet... do you have enough balls in the rest of your fuel sys to handle 400 on e85?

would be nice to see you crack it if you ever decide to upgrade injectors.... i mean there's gotta be someone you could swap with for a small cash advancement....

i have stock cams so i am at the max power my head can flow at the moment, changing the fuel will not make a difference untill i get cams and valve springs.

I aint interested in upgrading the injectors, the nismo's drive great and there is no need to upgrade them. this is a every day car and i am not going to go to big un controlable injectors just for the sake of chasing silly high dyno numbers.

I just want a 10 second quarter and i can achieve that on pump 98, i will go back to e85 once i get that over and done with and put the smaller streetable turbo on.

Got a call from my mate this weekend. He's been running E85 in his 180SX and intended to go for a drive back to the Riverland (SA) for the weekend. Went to get E85 from EFFUE at Mawson Lakes only to be told that they had none! If this keeps happening then E85 is not going to be a realistic option in SA. Very annoying.

Fortunately we still had the tune we did for 98 (he's running Z32 AFM + 740's) so I set him up with a multiple map board and now he can switch between the two. Not quite "flex-fuel" but at least it'll get him out of a bind. Gotta make sure he empties one fuel type before filling with the other that's all...

Hi mate

scotchers race fuels in SA has a 98 blend at the pump $1.70 p/l

Good to know. Looks like a few places that traditionally do race fuels are starting to supply their own E85/98 blends. $1.70 is still a lot more than the mainstream places - but at least you know what you're getting. And it's at the pump - no drums! :D

how does E85 go with storage? the melb place is a bit of a drive for me but if the fuel stores ok, i'll probably fill up a fair bit and keep the rest in my garage.

I probably do about 100km's per week anyway, so i don't drive a lot.

i guess my question, is how long will it last stored? does it go.... "off"?

If you keep E85 in metal drums that are air tight and in a cool dry place, it will last for a couple of years.

Its only when water/moisture gets into it that the shelf life drastically reduces.

Quick update for SA guys. A mate went down to the ENFFUE servo at Mawson Lakes last night and they had E85 for $1.20 per litre. The guy working there said that they had a new supplier and the future looked promising. Make of that what you will.

but at the petrol station i'd take your only option is jerry cans, and from there... do you put it in a metal drum at home?

these hard to find/expensive?

or would a good quality jerry can be ok for a few months?

what afr is it running? my 25 still runs side feed 850cc sard's and are maxed at 380 rwkw on willalls mainline, im pretty sure by the way the map suddenly maxes (crazy rich then snaps lean) out it's a flow issue not the injectors

380rwkw on willall's dyno will be like 400+rwkw or 500+rwhp

that will be a wild ride

My af ratio is around high 11 to 12:1 with fuel pressure of around 55psi at idle. Tuner was fairly conservative.

I love how clean the E85 comes out of the exhaust.

    • I have more than enough digging, laying blocks, moving gravel, airrating, feeding and top soiling the grass, and setting up the veggie gardens growing some seedlings,  and then removing all the unused rock to keep me busy for the next few months at least,  hopefully the rain stops soon so I can get a few hours in this arvo, but, before that Sunday is washing day, is every body happy, you bet your life we are Nice country road day drives are a day off whenever I'm muscle sore from all the landscaping at the moment, but, more epic multiple day drives will start once the majority of the big jobs outside are completed
    • I hear that would involve some nice country road drives into the hills for Mark...
    • I thought I'd come back and add something I JUST learned. A Toyota LandCruiser with a 1HZ, mates perfectly with a bottle of Nulon brake fluid. As in, it perfectly screws in. Great make shift funnel when you cut the bottom of it off. This may work for your Corolla.   Unfortunately, tipping a 10L drum is much harder than a 4 to 6L bottle, and they no longer include the easy pour tap which was just perfection to use previously.
    • Guys since i bought r33 gts25t coupe 1994 automatic a/t(manual swap 350z gearbox)  all i got is problems, always problems. Lets start with that when i turn key into ignition(ON) fuel pump doesnt always works. Sometimes i have to turn key twice Off/on/off/on until it primes. Its new, dw300 - 340lph. My gearbox broke so i did gearbox swap, install different intake manifold, injectors and i take pipes. Car was sitting in garage for more than half a year. I did assembly all not that long ago and when i turn ignition cant hear prime. All of sudden it stopped working. Theres many videos on YouTube how to make relay mod on r33 straight from battery so i did and it doesnt work! 😰 30 - battery positive  87 - positive from fuel pump to relay 85, 86 - one of two wires from original fuel pump wires(light blue, grey) and it didn’t work. so I check on ignition and took original BLUE relays wires from trunk, next to fuses. (I believe it’s IGN+ and ECU pin 18. it didn’t work…  tried connecting (IGN+ from og relay) and (ECU 104 from 1of4 FPCM wires) to my new relay 85/86 and it didn’t work.  I unplug FPCM. Didn’t work. im thinking what’s wrong   fuel pump is working, if I leave IGN+ on 85 and 86 straight to ground it works but it’s just nonstop. Since it getting constant 12v after key in ON. light blue wire gives me 6-8v.  so how this should be connected? What causing ECU not giving — on pin? Or I did sth wrong and that’s why it doesn’t work? I need negative signal on ECU that control fuel pump. What this should be?
