All the cars will be owned by "million dollar driver challenge" so we dont have to answer to anyone re: damage etc.

All participants are not liable for any damage done to cars in any of the sessions, it is all part of motorsport and we have allowed for it.

Having said that, drivers will be let out in 10 second increments so there shouldnt be any hassles and we will have the event fully marshalled too.

Called up to speak to Jason this morning but got his secretary - lindsay (I think), anyway 2 of mates wanted to enter in the Monday trackday but cant come up with the funds till mid next week. Lindsay spoke to Jason then rang me back to say that was ok and will put their names on the list anyway.............seriously, what more can these guys do!!! Thanks Jason, cant wait for the trackday.

Hi

The Friday shakedown is only open to people attending the weekend "challenge" event unfortunately.

The Monday and Tuesday events do have alot of track time for entrants so there should be ample time to get used to the cars ie: 4 x 1/2 hour sessions throughout the day.

Thanks,

Lindy (on behalf of Jason)

Million Dollar Driver Challenge

Hi all,

The Million Dollar Driver Challenge main event is almost sold out - we have just 11 spots remaining to fill of the 300 we are allowing.

We are making it a priority to fill all the remaining spots by this weekend!

As a result we are offering a really good deal to those who are interested in competing in the event at a reduced rate - please email me for more details, it is less than what we posted on this site earlier on and those 10 of you who took up the earlier deal will be given this new deal too - so dont worry!!!

This will be the best value motorsport you will ever get guys and girls.

Fuel tv - part of the Fox organisation are also on board as a partner and will be producing a 1 hour program on the event which will be aired 2 weeks after the event, they will also be producing a 1/2 hour program dedicated to the 2 1 day track days which will air 1 month later.

Also, the 1 day track days are filling fast too guys:

Monday - 52 paid and confirmed

Tuesday - 27 paid and confirmed

We are also doing a special deal for SAU members for these days - email for details.

Just registred for the weekend event with Lindy - what a great deal....anyone else here entered?

Yeah, chris, send lindy an email as they have an awesome deal for the mon/tues trackdays, much cheaper than the $400 advertised and I think they are only doing it for sau forum members.

Ok there are plenty of sceptics about this event actually taking place. Can we get a list going of the 275 people that have actually forked out full price.

I spoke to Subaru today and they do not know anything about the event. Jason, you said you had 28 cars already, can we see pictures of them?? As the order is for some 45 cars, I thought that this would come up on Subaru's radar. Have you got them from Japan.

I would love this event to be true, but I would like to see proof ie pics, entry list etc

If it's on, I'm in :)

Boz, I was thinking the same thing re Subaru. i have a friend very high up in the chain who looks after cars coming in and he also knew nothing about it. However if it were me, i would be bringing them in from Japan as track only cars and avoid all the taxes etc which is why i decided that my mate not knowing wasn't enough reason to doubt it :-)

Re the C63 AMG........I spoke to merc and they know nothing about it as well. How are you going to get one as there is a decent waiting list. I work for Merc as well.

I will speak to ACP magazines tomorrow and see what they know as they own Unique cars. Has anybody made contact with wakefield to find out if the bookings have been made. If not, I will speak to them tomorrow as well :D

It is always amazes me how when it comes to things motorsport related that everybody knows somebody and everyone is an expert - so without getting excited let me set the record VERY straigt for you Bozman1 and others.

When I spoke to you the other day and you asked me if Nick Senior had done me a good deal, I didnt say yes, in fact I didnt say anything at all. The reason for this is that yes, I did source the vehicles overseas as after speaking to a few local Australian Subaru dealers it quickly became clear that purchasing the vehicles here would not make the best economic sense.

We also spoke to a few workshops about preparing and running the cars for us those that did get back to us wanted drug money and some of the more reputable ones, well, I am still waiting for them to get back to me, so we decided to go it alone on this front too.

In terms of the C63, if you do indeed have something to do with Mercedes Benz you would know that currently there are atleast 6 cars sitting on showroom floors across the country for immediate delivery - we have one coming in February.

Please feel free to contact Justine or David Keens at Unique cars to verify their involvement - we have a full back page advert in the current issue and another full page advert advertising the 1 day track days in the December issue due out early December.

Please feel free to contact Robyn at Wakefield too and she can enlighten you on our booking with them too.

On our website and all our advertising it states very clearly that we have no affiliation with Subaru Australia or Mercedes Benz Australia in any way, shape or form.

Finally, if anyone has any questions please feel free to contact me on my mobile 0410614330 at any time, I will be more than happy to take your calls.

    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
