I know this is a bit OT, but i reckon you guys might be able to help me...

I just managed to bend one of the leaf springs on my car trailer. Reversing onto the front yard i drove over a pair of rims i had left sitting there. One got stuck between the wheels on the trailer and forced the axle forwards, bending the spring Slam

Anyone know if i can straighten it out without weakening them/risk it breaking later on?

I have an oxy torch/forklift/gear at work...

Otherwise I have to try and find a replacement tomorrow so i can still make it on Sunday :curse:

I think supercheap have trailer stuff, not sure if they have springs tho? :)

Sorry to hear that mate.We all have bad stories to tell about our crappy reversing skills.

I had to buy a new letter box after I repeately slamed the trailer up against it one night. So don't feel bad.

A leaf spring is a spring and if you heat one of them up it will turn to cast iron and break. Don't do it.

You really need to buy a newy. Northern beaching ,,,nope sorry can't help.

Neil.

lol that's the next thread....."show me what you reversed your car trailer into". mine was the front gate, although to be fair the clearance is about 10cm either side its pretty tricky in the dark.

So I take it your happy with the trailer big boy. I would be disappointed If you weren't.

Give it a good paint,,,look after it and it will give you years of enjoyment.

Nice rims by the way,,,.

love it my old boy cant wait to pick up my first shiterx

yea that was a free mod neil threw in

who kneed a jockey wheel knob

don't lie, you love jockey's knob...

you gonna slap those 34 rims on ya ford or what?

yea want a r34 gtr

they are the first stepping stone to it

haha, nice plan. Kinda why i bought a model R35. They say the first step is the hardest so should be a piece of pi$$ from here!

back to trailers, went past Unique Trailers the other day, and Peter just finished his first aluminum trailers. Light as, you can lift it off it's front axle from the front by yourself. Still has to do a bit of testing on it, but the best part is no rust!

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
    • What do they look like right after you've tried to start it with everything connected? Also post photos of what they actually look like.
    • Also wanted to say, my new spark plugs are blackened looks like it's very rich. I have splitfire coilpacks but stock coilpack loom and ignitor. I tried directly grounding the ignitor ground to body as well.
