As read on NissanSilvia, Express Publications, aka the people who run HPI, Fast Fours, Hot4's, Street Commodore, Zoom etc have made their editor's redundant..

http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.p...4&hl=hot+4s

This thread on NS.com was from Late July this year, but deadline has come.. December Issue has been released. . Legit information or not ?

Did a search on here, and couldnt find anything.. The only reason im concerned is cause' of HPI, i love that mag with a passion!

If they start changing the style of the magazine and the content in it, new editors = change!

I dont want HPI to change!

Just thought i'd let you guys know since i didnt find anything on here ..

Thoughts?

That might explain the late release of some of those over the past month or 2, HPI has been a little late and autosalon was extremely late, although not in your list of mags.

i hope they both still run cos i buy those 2 religeously (should just get a damn subscription)

Maybe the change will be good, but i still dont like the sounds of it .. HPI aint that bad..

They say that they prepare the articles and what not 3 months before they hit the shelves.. So i dunno' why the late release of HPI.. Yeah autosalon i think they have a different pulication..

My mate is the editor of HPI and the posted information is correct - his job is still safe though :P

And FYI, the lead time from writing an article to print is about 3 to 4 months... their printing is actually done overseas last time I checked.

Yes, Jason is the editor I'm talking about... as he was the previous editor for Hot4s as well, I'd put money on it that E.P. will just give him more work (hopefully jacking up his salary too).

Jason = awesome writer

Express Publications have a ...

i) Marketing Section

ii) Sales Section

iii) Business and Accounting Section

all connected and headed via the 3 Ve*la brothers.

They run a very very tight ship and what they need is...

a) loyalty from the advertisers (who in turn need to generate a good turnover in sales) and

b) magazine sales from as many newsagents as poss.

Fact:-

1) not all newsagents stock these mags

2) some newsagents won't get these mags in unless there's enough demand

Summary:-

I'm not privy to what goes on in their board room of late, but I can only surmise that the Ve*la brothers may also be concerned about a diminishing market. But what they also have to be concerned about is, that if they make a wrong decision, some other group (such as PCA) may take them over and run with it.

    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
