I thought I'd post this video up of an MNR Vortx Clubman car with an R1 Engine sitting behind a white R32 with about 640Hp.

The driver of the Vortx is Anthony Preston, he can catch the R through the turns but watch the R Disappear on the straights! Awesome Vid!!!! I think the R was making up about 3 seconds on the vortx down the straight!

This was at Eastern Creek last weekend 22-11-08

Keep in mind young Mr Preston weighs about 50 kilos wringing wet and he has tons of FF and gokart experience. I like his lines,,,very nice.

The gent in that beautiful GTR had never driven there before to my knowledge.

Neil.

Sam Markov's car is an absolute weapon. Best R32 in the country but a country mile.

Sorry Andrew,,,yes it is one of the best,,,but the Gibson car is streets ahead. Oh and watch out,,,the calsonic car may well be living in OZ soon. Just a rumour at the moment,,,

Didn't think of the Gibson car as it doesn't hit the track too often, understandably. Be a good side by side on slicks - I don't think there would be much difference.

He's done a couple of track days at the 'creek before in an M3, running around in 39's. Still it is good to see the GTR out and about again after all this time.............now wait for new suspension to be fitted and hopefully knock a fair bit off those times. :O

Well considering the track was damp, they only get 4 hot laps per session and he had a busted fr cv I think his 1'38's were quite respectable.

CV was intact, clamp/boot let go and covered brakes/supension/tyre with grease on that side.

I'll see if there's any extra footage from the day. I should be able to dig some up.

Yes I neglected mention that Presto in the Vortx has a bit more experience around the creek than the average driver. I'm falling in love with those little clubmans. If I end up winning lotto I think I know where I'd have to waste... sorry, invest, a good portion of it

I'll try to put up some more laps early next week :O

39's in an M3,,,,that must be one kick-arse car. I want a natsoft link for proof. Here's E/C's records.

    • i will be there 😁
    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
