Yes but lightening can jump from a cloud to the ground so Im sure it can jump from a car to the ground. However lightening takes the path of least resistance, the metal in your car has far less resistance than your body so you wouldn't have any current travel though you. Once again the chassis is ground in your car so even if something shorted to the chassis it would just flatten your battery, you couldn't receive a shock from it.

well i dont know all the details, but i wouldnt want to be the one finding out just in case hahaha.

its what i was told at regency when it first went through with same problem, so had to get it stitched up.

Trust me what I said is what happens. There's no way that an exposed seat rail could pose an electrical hazard, even if it got wired to the ignition coil it would short to the ground pin and never be live.

If you get struck by lightening whether it decides to go via you or via the doors is really all that is going to decide if you die or not, whether the seat is exposed won't make a difference.

Hey guys, about to do some work to my car and im wondering if what im about to do is going to cause me much issues.... i know the car does regardless and the 2 times ive been pulld over they go straight to the turbo and start looking in my passanger seat/door trim for things.. im guessing a boost controller...

Anyways if yas can just make some suggestions or if you think i will be fairly good with what im going to do let me know (peace of mind :P ), from what i can tell i should be ok.

Also whats the deal if i have to goto the epa or something? can my tuner tune the engine to run fine or is it just a matter of put the stock parts back on :S?

im new to the skyline/performance scene so yeah any help is appreciated. thanks!

also im in melb vic.

noo they are totaly muffd!

Stutters under boost

Engine light / slip light / diff light - Come on and the car goes shutter (mainly when its been raining)

Everything points to coil packs, so i figured id get them done with the gear.

Thanks for the tip tho ;)

got defected for fog lights.... sigh... $143 dollars down the drain. Might be off topic but i remember reading this post about some scottish cop defecting a bunch of people. I got pulled over 2 days ago when i just got my car and guess who it was zzzz was going down greenhill road about 4pm. like 3 hours after getting my car haha...

Bosch 040 Fuel pump will be fine

Sports Panel Filter fine

Turbosmart boost tee bleeder (will ask installer to hide it best as can) not fine, unless its invisible

Stealth FMIC cooler kit (contact has provided the cooler as he suggests is best for my car and is completely legal/no cutting etc) yep as long as you dont cut/bend/mod anything structural

Splitfire Coilpacks fine

Dump/Higher flow cat/Custom made twin rear with large twin stainless tip - High ride to give it the best stock look. fine as long as its quiet enough

General service with platnum spark plugs

Did you actually get a DEFECT for fog lights or just copped a fine for having fog lights on?

Yeah, i told my tuner it needs to look as stock as possible, and hes done the hard yards finding a exhaust/cooler etc but did say the boost tee will give me troubles if they find it... so he said he will ask his mechanic to hide it and paint it black ;) so hopefully they wont find it :<

Whats the deal with the cops looking in the passanger door for 10 mins pulling out your door trim etc when they pull you over :S!

    • Put a fuel pressure gauge on it. Replace the turbos. Probably completely separate issues.
    • What copper washer do you guys use on the bleeder bolts? The existing one I have I had no idea where to find it in a local store, I did buy some online but that are only 1mm thick whereas my old one is 2mm+ thick and when I put the new washer out and squeeze the top radiator hose I can hear a bit of air but not with the old one. Does this matter? The new one doesn't leak, but the inner diameter is a bit loose whereas the old one threads on the bolt.
    • Howdy all, after being out a few weeks ago on a spirited drive in my GTR I have 2 issues that oddly have appeared at the same time. Whilst accelerating quickly through the gears all of a sudden i’ve lost power at the top of third gear (below redline around 6000rpm) for no obvious reason.    From that point onwards the car has been running rich on idle, won’t really rev under load without a ton of black smoke and the odd backfire, and dying as a pull up to a set of lights unless I keep the revs up around 1500rpm. In addition when shutting down the car that same night (I was 10 minutes from home) I noticed one of the turbos was significantly noisy on wind down when shutting off the engine. After letting the car cool down overnight it starts up fine, although once it gets to temp the revs start to creep up and down, the exhaust is darker than it should be and it also sounds like it’s running rich (fat note) I’ve put a new set of plugs in it - no change, the old plugs all seemed OK with two of them being somewhat richer/fueled up than the other 3 with 1 being borderline. I’ve smoked tested the intake system via the front of the Turbos, found a split vacuum hose going to the factory boost gauge sender, which I have since replaced.  Also found another leak on the gasket coming off the rear turbo outlet, have also replaced this. After fixing both of these leaks - still have the running rich issue. I’ve also tried another pair of AFM’s - no change here After pulling off the front turbo intake pipes, there is obvious shaft play in the front turbo, which now hisses loudly on light revvs although I can’t see why this would make the car run funny even under idle. I’m curious to know why it’s running rich before I potentially replace/rebuild turbos. The car is completely stock <50,000kms  other than an exhaust. Oil and coolant are all clear. I haven’t bothered with coil packs as it looks like they won’t be the issue due to condition of the plugs. Any help appreciated as I cry myself to sleep!
    • No probs at all. I used to love trying to dig up obscure info for those in need where possible going back 20+ years on SAU.  I did have another look and couldn't come up with any closer match. I'm leaning towards those skirts in your first pic are custom fitments, cut down/extended or from another car entirely and modded to fit an R34 sedan. I would've thought someone in Japan had them and taken a photo at some stage over the last 2 decades but there's nothing. Someone out there must know surely.
