can only be sold to a wrecker...

and you also have 14 days to change rego into your name being the owner and that cant be done whilst on defect..

maybe tell transport sa that the car is defected, return the plates to them and "buy it" off him as a shell?

thats what i mean damo, he already has, i told him to.

therefor, it is now an off road car.

same as a dune buggy, are there regulations on selling those? no.

ahh wot teh fux ill just ring the tards

thats not so bad dude, years ago wen i went thro regency in my old rx7 and they confiscated my keys and i was forced to tow the car home

hope it all goes well for you tomorrow mate

we have a lady amongst us.

lol ... that's some funny shit :(:P

Well anyways ... Car flew through with no dramas... Inspector was a young bloke this time, rather than the older bearded guy previously...

The old bloke wandered over and had a look, they were both kinda stunned I'd resolved the steering and lights issue so quickly. But hey, I'm determined, and I'm supposed to be already on my way to Melbourne (not typing away on SAU). Well, should leave in a coupla minutes ...

Overall, I'm very very relieved this is all over (well, until next time...)

well yeah id agree, if you cancel the registration and sell the car, it has nothing to do with motor reg.

id imagine that if anyone ever tried to re-register it, it would need an inspection to clear the old defect, and also a plate match and theyd be all set.

hey guys,

my 32 got defected a couple months ago, so i've been driving around in a honda, im really starting to miss boost so i have finally decided to get off my ass and get the thing through regency, i've got pretty much everything tht i can think of to get it through besides a few things which i listed below, is there any tips for regency as its my first trip there, a few people have just told me to get the hicas lock bar engineered but i dont no where or who to talk too. and i have no idea how much that sort of shit costs

PARTS REQUIRED TO CLEAR THE R32 OF DEFECT

Stock wheels or something that fits legally.

hicas rear steering rack

turbo heat shield

Im pretty sure i've got most things besides that but im sure they will find more stuff so ill add anything else to the list.

im trying to do it as cheao as posible so if i can borrow swap or buy stuff it would be really handy i have got some contacts with tyres and stuff like that so thats not a huge concern.

also i was just wondering if i need to change the rear sway bar back to stock and put the plastic inner guards back in. and also i have a hole in the dash where the gaurds were mounted does that need to be filled or is that fine just left open, cause once its cleared its all going back too how it was anyway.

cheers guy, Tom

Taken 5 months... finally went over Regency for the second time today since having the car... 3 people were standing out the front doing nothing when I got there. Waited 45 mins, still were 15 mins past my scheduled time before they brought me in.

Right front indicator decided to play up before going in, stopped working.. even though I checked it every day for the last week pretty much. Left there, brought it back, now works fine. Had it steam cleaned and they found a powersteering leak underneath, groovy... Did me for bonnet struts, never had a problem with that first time around. One of my seat belt buckles were caught under the seat. Noone sits there anyway, be stupid too. When I did the suspension and bled the brakes, I forgot to put the clips to secure the brake lines back on. Another defect... Pissy two second jobs..!

Said to me, if it was just the lights he would of let me go... also took note on the, "were looking out for these kinds of cars at the moment". So anyone with a Cefiro planning a regency trip, just wait a little bit longer. lol.

Everything else was a breeze, just pissed off mainly at the indicator, *shakes head*

Some consistency would be good, one person does you for something, and the next person doesnt.. Should just tell you what needs doing entirely... keep the stories the same, fix them.. and have no problems. Just another way to get money out of ya I guess. :D

when are ya gonna learn adam? keep that thing off the road man,

your just gonna get done again.....

might have something to do with the crowd you drive with also?

I dont drive with Roffey and that Craig haha... Attention I dont need. I was just goin to the beach with the girlfriend one night and BAM!

Was fine til I lowered it.. tried to make it look better for AJP. lol...

Defected for no front bar and a STOCK blowoff valve -.- Regency.

Don't ya hate that... wish some cops would actually know what there talking about sometimes. :( Good luck man...

Booked in for tomorrow... re check, should be good to go. Can't wait to drive it there! :P

Has anyone else had to get a permit to take it there? And I mean on a trailer, I got told it was public property so that you needed one to legally take it off the trailer and into the warehouse. But the Lonsdale one is private. Anywho, the first 2 times I went there I heard nothing of it. Then a week ago when I went through, she asked me for it. Said I trailered it, and she said I needed one. Or it depends who I get. -_-'.

No matter, was only 35 bucks lol.. and I get to drive it! :)

he got defected for no front bar. cop was right to defect him.

the stock bov if complete is an easy pass and wont cause him any troubles at regency.

Didnt even say anything about mine after I hooked it all back up properly lol. So should of have no probs. :P

    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
