Not wrong there! I sent my ECU up on a thursday to my father in-law to remove my Mines Chip, we got it the Friday. Took the day to remove all the epoxy and still had to cut the chip out! Gave it to Pete (half of PLMS) who works on the desk next to him, Pete checked out the Mines map which was leaned out in the higher revs, speed cut removed and had 4deg of timing added across the whole map (yes that is all Mines did) then he fit the NIStune board and sent it all back to me very well packaged on the Tuesday. I got it on the Wednesday. Overnight delivery Via registered post from SA to VIC = AWESOME!

Get mine tuned on Friday at Status Tuning, can't wait. Have the cable and software on my spare laptop too, it's very cool stuff.

i really cant believe it!!!

that change is only on your mines computer or is that the change done to all mines computers. caz my friend has a mines tuned computer and when placed on the car its like it revealed its true potential. the car got really aggressive.

the problem i find with the mines were i live the best we get is 90 octane and they are normally tuned for much more than that and in most cases it wont be tuned for your car. thumbs up to mines but hands up to nistune

so what about the mines skyline?

any new nistune rbs in the family and willing to share the experience?

haha i did 4 r32 remaps this week and a r34.... so theres another 5 "family" members out there

any new nistune rbs in the family and willing to share the experience?

We have done over 60 nistune boards in the last 10month's since we have started using the softwear.

some happy user's of nistune...

Can some1 explain what makes the remaps like this less suitable once the power starts to climb past a certain level? WHat does the remap have trouble doing?

Also is any software able to be programmed into the remaps ie launch control?

Cheers

James

PS: I have a dr drift remap and am very happy with teh results. While i was away at work my mrs fillied up with some 95 fuel. When i came home and took it for a spin it was boosting a lot less because of the knock control. Asked her what she done and found out about the wrong fuel. Could have ended badly for me!!

I know it can be quite difficult to explain but is there a manual or some form of info that one can download to read up on what can be adjusted and played with and in what moderation can one change figures when tuning with nistune. the do's and don't s of adjusting timing and changing fuel maps and the works.

i am looking for something beyond base tuning. thanx in advance

I am using nistune and love it. You do pay more when compared to a remap/socket-ed ECU. But the ease of tuning thought the diagnostic port has in itself proven more financially beneficial in the long run when going to my tuner and him being able to make quick adjustments and not charging me due to having to remove the ecu completly.

For the record, I am running 650cc Injectors (abit over kill), FPR, Splitfires, Z32, GCG Rb25 High flow (17psi), Cam Gears, 3" Zorst no cat, FMIC making a reliable 210rwKW.

yeah i have heard nothing but good things about the chip i was just saying what he told

me the other day and im most likely getting one in the new year alright bond

and i think the chip itself is like $400

Maybe it was just my tune. I read that Mines tunes the ECU to the mods that are on the car, i.e. If you have kakimoto exhaust, apexi turbos, blitz FMIC, SARD 600s, HKS Cam Gears, they will tune to that.

In my case that was what was done to the maps.

Trent tuned my NIStune last Friday and all I can say is WOW! The software is very very good and trent got as much as he could out of my car with current list of mods done. made 240kW and 388Nm on 14psi.

Next step is to check wheels on the turbos and see if they are ceramic or not, if not up comes the boost!

I am extremely happy with the NIStune as the car is now tuned for BP Ultimate instead of the 100 octane that Mines tunes for

Last time I asked i got the following reply

"R32 - we can do any of them - RB20 or RB26. No probs there.

R33 - can't do any cos they went to a Hitachi micro.

R34 - we can do the RB25 but can't do the RB26 in the GTR."

is this still the status? no RB26 in R34?

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
