no, not entering this year, can't afford it. think i'll stick to drifting, cheque book racing isn't for me. maybe one day if i inherit some money. :)

ps. sorry for the miss quote, if it makes you guys feel any better i can edit my first post or just round it up too 1.22.

spoke to jonny boy and he said your all camp

how much is street class i might come along for a laugh??

$250 tight ....rse and Sat, as in day before the big one, is practice and only $140, bargain.

Well car is going in for paint, then mechanicals/servicing. I cant see the timetable allowing me to enter?!?!? Cracked manifold is taking longer then expected to replace which is the killer. But then there is also the fact that i am messing around my next project by delaying a site visit because it is the same week as Superlap.

LOL, yes, shit Snowman looks like he may win the bet ... but still some time to keep pushing dates and things around :P

LOL, probably. But i think back to how neat my little "T" used to be in Sydney before the fire and track gods cursed my car in Vic. I just want to get it straight and neat again so it doesnt look like an abused drift car...just an abused track car :domokun:

Come on ben you have to lean more to the GTR's. :) .

We are tidying up body and painting The Slot Car Satin Black. Putting big Chrome White and red Unique Auto Sports logo on. We also flared front guards and made some big vents behind front wheels, to suck hot air out from engine bay and brakes. Should look tough. Lots of mods and improvemtns since last Superlap to go faster also.

Yes Beer Bitch but Bozman is heaps lighter than you wide arse lot, so he has a advantage straight off.

I tell you what, if any of you three get down to within 40kg of Bozmans weight you can drive it.

hahaha, ok that counts all 3 of us out then..... harsh but true. we are all 'ample gentlemen' though I have shed a few kgs in recent months, and I'm sure the chronic diarrhoea troy is suffering in india may see him at fighting weight soon. fatz...... well fatz is just awesome at any weight. just more of him to cuddle.

Personally i think these cars give the event the stature it requires. However i dont understand why "rear engined 6 cylinder cars" are outlawed and the Exiges allowed to run?!? The Exiges are no different from a Carrera Cup car in that they are basically homologated GT3 cars, though instead of running V8s, turbocharged 4s that Lotus have configured the various racing Exiges with, these things run supercharged Honda engines.

Any chassis that has run in GT3 or higher class of motorsport should be excluded from entering. The event is about tuned cars, not ex race cars. Otherwise rather then sink $100,000 into a GTR, EVO, WRX etc you would just grab a 3+ year old GT3 Corvette, Viper, Elise, M3, Mustang etc etc with all the costly engineering done and punt the thing.

Hell, wasnt the old Prancing Horse Racing Mustang for sale real cheap? John Bowe got some pace out of that thing and it was hamstrung by the rules. Throw some bits at it, remove some other bits and you would have a sub 70k car that would be leading the field.

But, it is what it is and it gives the tuned cars something to chase

very good points troy. but the HPE's are different to the GT3 Cup Cars..... they're faster!!!!! and you're right, it's not really the spirit of the thing. no one turns up at tsukuba with a Super GT car (though M-speed are getting close I guess...).

my question is where do you draw the line with what is allowed and what is not, perhaps as time goes on improvements in the rules can cater to how the series is developing and additional classes or further development can be added if needed.

The important thing is to involve the people that are competing in the series in the decesions, i think this series will be a great one as more people get involved but might need to run it over a few days in the future.

i reckon the simple way would be to make it for japanese made cars. it's a japanse style event, with sponsors that cater mainly to japanese sports cars, with the bulk of enthusiasts driving and/or entering in japanese made cars, but last year was won by an english made, aussie modified, japanese powered GT car. wha? :P

I cannot speak directly for the organisers but i was led to believe this event was Australia's answer to the Tsukuba Rev Speed event. Now it seems to have already lost focus allowing cars to compete which are essentially full blown race cars. Not workshop based entries and top level privateer's. If the rules were the same as Rev Speed and the event over time grew to a similar level of that event would it not be great to see the Japanese guys bring cars over to compete in our event just as Mark did over there. A lot of the glass half empty guys may say that will never happen but if a few years ago someone suggested to me an aussie built car would be over there competing i would have probably thought the same as them. If you have big dreams and you work hard at them you end up with big realities.

just my opinion.

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
