Report:-

Last night, westbound on The Crescent Rd., Newport, an inexperienced 24 yr old driver took his restored car for a test drive with a friend.

He ended up hitting a tree. Only minor injuries are reported to have been sustained.

The Datsun 1600 was apparently unregistered.

Im a P plater, and that sort of stuff just seriously ruins out reputation on the road. But not only P Platers, look at the 44 year old idiot..

The glamourise the whole P Plate accident, yet only provide limited information on the 44 year old who died.. if they made that much of an effort to dig up info on the P plater why not the 44 year old man.. RIP 2 both of them.. but it shows how biased the media can be. Sorry for hijacking guys :)

Poor datto :( .. looked so good .. Friggin' idiot for taking it for a "spin"

MRXTCZ

Datto looked pretty good too :(

I really dont know what to say, He was preb excited to take it for its first drive....but an idiot for it to be unreg and by soudns of it, speed being a factor....

what a shame, at this time of year too...

speed being a factor....

That phrase is one of my pet peeves.

Of course speed is a factor. Speed is a factor in any crash. The only way an object can have no speed is if its not moving, in which case the laws of physics say it's impossible for it to hit anything else.

you know what is far worse? people who condemn the speeding, after the accident, because they never speed. not once has there been a bit of stick given on the streets by these saints. even at 24yo, with their newly built car.

cmon !!! get real !!! i'm so sick of hearing it.

of course, i dont condone speeding on the street. but simply put, be realistic ... @^#%#*!!!!

do you think you're scoring brownie points? next time the cops pull you over, are they gonna say, hmm its weevil, left him off with a hand job ?!!!!

monkey boy wtf?

your kidding right?

what you on about?

when did I say I dont speed? when did I try and score brownie points? wtf??

I was reading the article mate, and if you read it, they say he was doing at least 90km in a 50 zone.

Your a joke monkey boy.

hahaha, dont get too worked up princess. its not a go at you. its a go at that old and tired 'speeding' bullshit, from a bunch of hypocrites.

its obvious speeding is unsafe. you shouldnt do it. and if you do, you're taking your life, and perhaps other's, into your own hands. it can have devistating affects. thats not the point though.

btw, thanks for the seemingly civil PM, followed by name calling in your post. that's classy :)

and its - YOU'RE a joke Munkyb0y

i find it very hard to believe that anyoneee here has NEVER sped in their skyline. If uve sped before, then dont sit here and have a go at someone for doing it. the bloke made a mistake and he paid the GREATEST penalty, so back off :)

lol.. that was totally uncalled for. well done :)

    • Input shaft bearing. They all do it. There is always rollover noise in Nissan boxes - particularly the big box. Don't worry about it unless it gets really growly.
    • For once a good news  It needed to be adjusted by that one nut and it is ok  At least something was easy But thank you very much for help. But a small issue is now(gearbox) that when the car is stationary you can hear "clinking" from gearbox so some of the bearing is 100% not that happy... It goes away once you push clutch so it is 100% gearbox. Just if you know...what that bearing could be? It sounding like "spun bearing" but it is louder.
    • Yeah, that's fine**. But the numbers you came up with are just wrong. Try it for yourself. Put in any voltage from the possible range and see what result you get. You get nonsense. ** When I say "fine", I mean, it's still shit. The very simple linear formula (slope & intercept) is shit for a sensor with a non-linear response. This is the curve, from your data above. Look at the CURVE! It's only really linear between about 30 and 90 °C. And if you used only that range to define a curve, it would be great. But you would go more and more wrong as you went to higher temps. And that is why the slope & intercept found when you use 50 and 150 as the end points is so bad halfway between those points. The real curve is a long way below the linear curve which just zips straight between the end points, like this one. You could probably use the same slope and a lower intercept, to move that straight line down, and spread the error out. But you would 5-10°C off in a lot of places. You'd need to say what temperature range you really wanted to be most right - say, 100 to 130, and plop the line closest to teh real curve in that region, which would make it quite wrong down at the lower temperatures. Let me just say that HPTuners are not being realistic in only allowing for a simple linear curve.
    • I feel I should re-iterate. The above picture is the only option available in the software and the blurb from HP Tuners I quoted earlier is the only way to add data to it and that's the description they offer as to how to figure it out. The only fields available is the blank box after (Input/ ) and the box right before = Output. Those are the only numbers that can be entered.
    • No, your formula is arse backwards. Mine is totally different to yours, and is the one I said was bang on at 50 and 150. I'll put your data into Excel (actually it already is, chart it and fit a linear fit to it, aiming to make it evenly wrong across the whole span. But not now. Other things to do first.
