So you drive a Skyline..?

But you love Porsche...

Or you drive a Porsche..?

What I'm trying to say is that, you love the Porsche but for you own reasons you drive a Skyline..?

(Speculation) A Porsche is not in your budget, so you opt for something with similar performance..?

Yeah... Cool...

in a normal race the gtr would be like 10 car lenghts think ive won stoped racing and the bmw would be looking like he doing a commo style loser fly by :3some:

question is does nissan really need to beat these cars? or do these cars need to beat the nissan.

considering the price tags im to the opinion they need to beat the nissan to justify the price tag

I fly planes.

Cars are boring in comparison which is why I dont own anything special.

You gota point there, with the price tag towards the other cars.

Why pay so much when a Nissan can do the same if not better job. :D

Coz in 10 years the bmw will be worth more than 20k.

trust me man i've seen more problems with M5 & 6's than wat my 20 year old r32 has had since i've owned it lol. compared to japanese cars europeans don't age very well at all in australia. i experience this first hand everyday and would choose a gtr over a m any day

FOUR EXTRA CYLINDERS , BAH, MODED BMW , STOCK AGAINST STOCK , SEE WHAT HAPPENS !!!!!!!! OVER 500 HORSES , I THINK IT SHOWED JUST WHAT THE R35 IS CAP OF !! ANYWAY IF YOU DONT SUPPORT NISSANS , GO TALK TO YOUR SAUERKRAUT EATING LIEDERHOSEN SLAPPING BOX HEADS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I must be one of very few that realise there is more to live than a GTR

Own a 540i sport (Dec 2005). Nice engine, nice build, extremely comfortable.

Test drove the current M3, great car, not a supercar though.

Have an R35 on order, suspect I've made the right decision for my list of wants. I guess I will find out in May when it arrives.

As for the M6, not a track car full stop. Good for cruising I suppose but why compare it with a track car? Chalk and cheese.

^ yet you the only 1 that doesnt realise you living on a r35 thread posting regularly  was a huge spelling mistake adding t

go buy your bmw and get smoked at the lights by the 35 don't bother me :pirate: maybe you could try doing warm up burnouts at the red light or something.

by your logic any car could have a 10k higher top speed than the bmw and say its faster because eventually it will overtake it.

Coz in 10 years the bmw will be worth more than 20k.

Having worked in the motor industry and seen how all cars depreciate, I'm not sure the BMW will do better than the GT-R from that perspective. Values of grey import R32/R33/R34 Skylines are all over the place becuase they are just that, a grey import, a local delivered GT-R, be it original R32 or R35 will be treated very differently by the market and industry wholesalers. Another thing that history shows is that high priced BMW, Merc, Audi etc, also suffer savage depreciation. E36 M3 can be bought for a song, even E46 are coming back too. Any top end 5 series, 7 series or Merc equivelant are cheap as chips once 10 years old. The M6 with it's $300K plus starting price will cop a huge hit. On the second hand market they suffer because people are very wary buying such a car that will involve oppressive maintanance...and lets face it some so-so reliability with incredibly complex electronics on BMW's. Don't get me wrong i LOVE the Euro cars but they do depreciate and maintance is a killer.

As for the video, if the GT-R was speed limited then the race becomes irrelevant., once that limit is reached There is no doubt that from 0-100 km/h, 1/4 mile perspective, the GT-R is in another league to just about any standard production car on the planet, however there certainly are faster cars once you look at 180 km/h+ even without the GT-R's limiter, in this case the GT-R seemed to reach a limit and there the BMW was able to fly past. if my pockets were deep enough, I'd have both!

    • I was using the wiring diagram I have So 12.74V is coming into the rear Fuel Pump relay as I measured.  When I turn the key to ON im getting 0.6V to the Fuel Pump plug; which i assume is backfeed voltage and doesnt include the 12V from ignition power.  The rear relay is working and being triggered.  From the diagram I clearly see the rear relay 80 = Rear Relay going into the Body/H loom (R-27) 27 = Fuel Pump plug going into the Body/H loom (T-20) 40 = Short Connector (R-27) I'm reading 12.74V on the blue/black wire which is the power for the Fuel Pump   From this diagram I can see the Ignition relay goes into the front and up to the ignition  2 = Fuel Pump Relay <1M> (R-27) 37 = ING Relay <1M> I started from the pump using this reference Which the way I read it (referencing Nissan wiring color codes) is: Pin Wire Color Function 1 B/P (Black/Pink) Ground 2 L/W (Blue/White)        ECU Trigger 3 SB (Sky Blue) Fuel Pump 5 L/B (Blue/Black) 12V Constant Tested SB to SB on Fuel Pump for continuity - confirmed Tested negative on Fuel Pump to 12V battery and L/B - confirmed 12V Pulled the relay putting 12V between Pin 1 & 2 and testing continuity on Pin 3 & 4 - confirmed relay   So that has me looking at this part of the circuit to understand whats happening here...and im still confused. From best I can tell; the disconnect is back to my previous diagram; between Ignition Relay and Fuel Pump Relay...which yet again; afaik is where the immobiliser should.    Thats what I was trying to explain to GTSboy; im not trying to fix it myself; yet I seem to have to get a Masters in Electrical Engineering (while im busy doing my actual job of DevOps & Cloud Engineering) somehow.  I just wanted more expert opinions; or more so that what I tested is correct and proves it to something around that area; to go back to the alarm tech (for a 3rd time) that he needs to fix it. He keeps telling me its not the alarm. He lives on the complete other side of the city so i understand not wanting to make a trip but as I said before if its the alarm it should be up to him to fix it. But he's adament its not; even though I pointed out the FP was immobilised through the original alarm. To my mind; it seems that the ECU is sending the signal; but the ignition is not getting 12V down the line.
    • Maybe also really stiffly sprung track cars. Get the inside wheel up in a corner and all the fun stops. Also me sometimes (rarely) when I have to stand on the brake to convince the diff to drive the wheel that is still on the ground when I'm trying to diagonally get over severe driveway entrance, etc.
    • I feel like I'm missing something. You had an authorised installer come out and install a new alarm. Post install the car doesn't start, and you aren't getting the installer back to fix what they did wrong?
    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
