Happyish on the new year. Had a big night for new year, but our Stagea did a head gasket on the Tues. before. Got head off Friday just (big hang over!!). Checking out turbo today and found a big crack running out waste gate hole, so SSStagea can I buy your exhaust housing off you if it has no cracks?!

Haven't had a full check over the turbo yet. Got it off the car today and looks like the bearings inside have let go and caused the exhaust wheel to rub on the inside of the housing.

We managed to get the car home, just made sure that it didn't go above about 2500rpm and took it easy. Had nowhere to leave it up in Bundy and since I can't afford a new turbo for a while, I prefered it be home with me so I can do other things to it while I wait.

As for things getting better for the New Year, the very last nut we undid to remove the turbo from the manifold snagged and sheared the stud, so now that need doing as well.. Yay for a happy year.

And I will check out the turbo for you Skidkid.

Sorry to hear about SSStagea's new year troubles. I went through similar turbo issues last year  BUT it did lead to getting my HiFlow :D

My New Year has been a mixed bag;

+'ves

Installed my PA11-NIS iPod adaptor for the stock stereo... Just brilliant! Needed it to be as neat as possible, which was achieved

Did the tiptronic mod (changed the +/- around)... Nice. Now I just have to get the gears to change when I want them to :(

Fixed the silver disc (could be moved, which I did not like)

Installed "white" LED's into the parkers to match the white of the Xenon's... Looks great and drivers side parker works everytime now!

Bought a large block of land

Have to prep current house for IMMEDIATE sale

-'ves

Found fresh oil has leaked from my 'cooler outlet pipe. :ermm:

Turbo has been known to make a LOUD Rrrr-ing sound when under full boost sometimes :ermm: (oil line probs? - have not yet had the time to look)

Dog injured back leg (torn muscle and tendon *ouch*)

Have to prep current house for IMMEDIATE sale.

Anyway, there ya go.

fun fun fun aye cam.

prep house ? i rekon a hand rail along your drive way would be awsome !

dog ? my mates dog tore a tendon also, couldnt walk for 3weeks at least.

congrats on the land ... area ? does it come with a house ?

LOL, handrail. Yeah, and steps... what about an escalator?

Thanks man, the block (no house) is in Nyora (2.8 Acres). About a 30sec drive from the speedway, yet very little noise thanks to the trees!

The speedway is a bit smaller than I thought it would be and is what you could call a "tight" track for Sprint Cars...

Can't imagine the Stag sliding around it... no wait... yes I can

Just gotta throw down the turf in the backyard this weekend and a quick cleanup, then it is photos and listing.

Hopefully be out before March.

Haha, relax Freddy.

The Stag will not be doing anything with midgets.

Perhaps on a lonely Sunday morning however.....

    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
    • Fair enough, I am in no way a tire expert so I'm not familiar with all the terms and conditions. I'll definitely note down the AD09 to potentially try in the future. Rain is not too big of a concern for now as I will probably only drive in the rain when I have to. And considering I still lack experience driving the GTR I'd more than likely take it easy too. I have coilovers in the car but as I barely got to drive so far I never bothered to even check if they are adjustable haha. The suspension is almost entirely old and worn as well so I suppose when I eventually fix that in the future that would make a huge difference.
