It's ok Nightcrawler, i had just woken up and was grumpy. I was merely stating that changes had to be made because there is far too much bickering on here, too many ppl with their knickers up their clacker and more warnings need to be given out before it turns SAU into a complete joke. No disrespect to the current moderators at all, there just wasn't enough of you. I've been contemplating cancelling my account purely because there is too many ppl getting on their high horse and ruining what used to be a half decent forum back in the day.

Lol...

Compared to say, ns.com... I'd class this as a forum worthy of my bandwidth.

joel was the best, gave me so much information and advice on my car that i still use and tell to others today. he is a very smart guy. he isnt gone tho? hes just reducing his responsibility here on the site. i can understand that, its hard work dealing with donkeys like me.

love joel to hell. great bloke and top family, little kid is the greatest

pity he's moved on, always trusted his advice and opinions, moreso than any other.

will be missed.

SA section needs more skyline/RB related stuff.

I don't think the problem is that we need more sub forums, I think the problem is people need to think about what they are posting before they do and where it should go, ie. the wasteland. More subforums just creates more hassles and lets be honest, who's really going to use them anyway

This is a great forum, and I have been a member longer than most :D

Problem is there doesnt seem to be too much to talk about in SA anymore when it comes to Skylines. Spotted and wasting time threads about nothing seem to dominate the headlines with some defect banter for good measure. A lot of the guys and girls with big combos wont post for all sorts of reasons, and some of the newer members - no offence - have nothing worth posting about. Its a Catch 22 and someone needs to step up with some worthwhile content :D

+1

Yeah we have tried to get sub-forums happening in the past, but it is not an SAU priority. I agree with Luke - people just need to use the search function a lot more, and/or keep whatever crap they need to rant about to themselves or the wasteland.

Honestly, you guys wouldn't believe how many bs threads I delete before anyone else even sees them.

It is a thankless job, being a mod, but imagine if we weren't here to keep the peace.

Martin, I could not have worded my thoughts more succinctly.

Ryan, yes I agree to some extent, but you can't expect us to be too harsh - it is a world of free speech (within reason) and we don't want to be Nazi mods.

Also, some people on here think the mods read every single post within minutes of it being posted - well that just isn't true, and is an impossibility. If you have a problem with anyone's posts, then report them and I/we will take action. Make sure you are VERY specific about which which comments you find to be unnecessary/offensive, who posted them, and the time of the post - then I can track them down easily.

    • The oil pressure sensor for logging, does it happen to be the one that was slowly breaking out of the oil block? If it is,I would be ignoring your logs. You had a leak at the sensor which would mean it can't read accurately. It's a small hole at the sensor, and you had a small hole just before it, meaning you could have lost significant pressure reading.   As for brakes, if it's just fluid getting old, you won't necessarily end up with air sitting in the line. Bleed a shit tonne of fluid through so you effectively replace it and go again. Oh and, pay close attention to the pressure gauge while on track!
    • I don't know it is due to that. It could just be due to load on track being more than a dyno. But it would be nice to rule it out. We're talking a fraction of a second of pulling ~1 degree of timing. So it's not a lot, but I'd rather it be 0... Thicker oil isn't really a "bandaid" if it's oil that is going to run at 125C, is it? It will be thicker at 100 and thus at 125, where the 40 weight may not be as thick as one may like for that use. I already have a big pump that has been ported. They (They in this instance being the guy that built my heads) port them so they flow more at lower RPM but have a bypass spring that I believe is ~70psi. I have seen 70psi of oil pressure up top in the past, before I knew I had this leak. I have a 25 row oil cooler that takes up all the space in the driver side guard. It is interesting that GM themselves recommend 0-30 oil for their Vette applications. Unless you take it to the track where the official word is to put 20-50w oil in there, then take that back out after your track day is done and return to 0-30.
    • Nice, looks great. Nice work getting the factory parts also. Never know when you'll need them.
    • Thanks @jtha7 I will have a look around tomorrow but it is a prick of a spot. These are some photos i tried taking
    • I take it that the knock retard is from bearings tapping a little tune? Thicker oil is a fragile bandaid. You need a much bigger oil cooler and probably the bigger pump being discussed.
