my stagea might be out of action- any dramas with bringing the evo?

bummer i'm sure a 34 fronted stagea would have been a bit more interesting than a evo( no offence , i would like to have seen it in person) but go along and enjoy the 3rd qld meet should be a good day out.

Hey Mitchy: bring the evo if you want: you're a Stagea owner, and it will be good to meet you, if not your car (Damn, I've been hanging out to see that one close up in the flesh!!). Depending on your preference, I could also pick you up on the way: your call of course, but pm me/call me with your address if you'd prefer to do it that way.

Leetom: are you joining us on this one? I was hoping you'd have a gander at this thread....

For everyone attending (particularly those meeting at Coomera), my mobile# is 0413003013, in case you need it.

Cheers,

Micah

Unfortunately, I won't have the prototype roof rail replacement kit fitted to show you all: the kit I bought from Japan doesn't sit satifactorily, it will be a few weeks while we frankenstien the standard runners and the Jap kit (there are good aspects of both) to get a factory looking result to mould...

no micah can't make this one( only one i've missed) sounds like a interesting drive, had a little off and damaged the dayz kit, i'm going to get it repaired so in the meantime i'm going from stealth to standout (nizmo kit) so the car will be in the shop getting re-kitted

have fun and get good pics,

leigh.

Confirming:

Meet at Milton Maccas from 10am, depart around 10:30am

33.4km drive to WESTRIDGE OUTLOOK carpark (may have to play it by ear if carpark is full)(POI in GARMIN GPS's)

then 58km to the dam picnic area. BYO food. drink and togs.

There are not many places to regroup following all the traffic lights on Waterworks road, just have to do our best to stay together until we reach the carpark meeting point.

My phone is 0402118700.

Simon

Don't know about you guys, but it's raining cats and dogs here at the moment: fingers crossed it rasins itself out today, and fines up tomorrow. The meet will be on regardless: we can always accomodate a more rain-friendly endpoint if the weather isn't on our side.

yes, i will also hope it rasins :P itself out. id hate to clean rasins off my car. but the rain shouldnt stop us anyway. AWD FTW!!

is there anyone from the sunny coast or the northside of brissy that wanna meet up somewhere to cruise to milton??

Hate to do it but may be a no show tomorrow. Have had 1st contact in the last couple of days from the girlfriends Uncle who has been uncontactable in Vic in the middle of the fires. It's only been limited and not sure to what extent he's effected. Friends up here we're finding out have also lost rellies and other friends so I think we're going to show our support on the Bushfire Charity Event.

I was really looking forward to this one to see soooo many Stagea's together. Next time I guess.

The best laid plans of mice and men. I am unable to get out of some business commitments, which pee me off greatly.

I am hugely disappointed I must bow out for tomorrow.

I even washed and tarted the S1, and finally fitted the remote oil filter, and got the STAGEA decals cut. I would have had the instrument cluster wired in.

I am not a happy 66yo. But, I would rather be an old fart, than a young Richard Cranium.

Happy Stagering.

:P i wish i could come down for this lads.

one time i will tho, have to get one organised when i go down for the gympie skidpan day weekend :) .... whenever that may be hahah

would be so awesome to see so many stageas. i nearly cream myself when i see one in cairns lol (theres only about 4! )

Got to think positive it never rains over the catchment areas. :P

Part of the reason for meeting at Yamanto was to do my bit and give a donation as well as see some cool cars then head on down to Milton for the STAGEA cruise.

choco does this mean you might be at Yamanto

Phil

i am so spewing i couldn't make it. ontop of wanting to get my clutch sorted, i spent all day at mum n dad's fixing his blimmin computer. i could of been the only yellow stag there.... that would of added some colour to the photos :D

please organise another stagea cruise/meet soon....

Nice shots Phil. Only one thing missing. Me, dammit.

yeh and me to hugh,... any vids? and how about a few more pics of that bonnet myles (how does it fit?)

it was good drive, not as organised as it should have been but we all got there in the end. 3 cars with uhfs didnt help, seeing as we were the only 3 cars who stayed together. for future reference there is no phone coverage in the country.

but just to all those who comented on my undersized battery - thanks for saying it near my car, the battery lost its guts just after i got home.

    • The ATTESSA is functionally identical to R34; there were a bunch of JDM models that continued ATTESSA including Fuga/Q70, Skyline/Q50, Cima etc as an option. All with Auto only and I think mostly for snow regions. AFAIK there were no AWD VR30DDTT sold in Australia - it is on my to do list to check regs for racing a LHD car in Targa/ATR/AASA/CAMS events because if I can get the auto to work it would be interesting to run a 4wd car The Ecuteck TCM tuning is the same model as their ECU tuning, they already have it for R35 and Dose's favourite, BMW. You buy "points" to allow your computer to be tuned, buy either a bluetooth (phone app) or bluetooth+USB+Key (phone and PC) dongle, and pay for a tune that will be locked to your tuner ( ). You can also access the tuning software yourself but 1. it is mega expensive and 2. these computers have a billion parameters that intersect, so how could you ever spend enough time on it to get a decent result.
    • Or, is it a case of what it is like owning an R series Skyline? NFI what the previous owner has done or fiddled with... Ha ha ha After reading through this thread, I went on a bit of a research about the Q50/Q60. Now I'm quite intrigued by them! Is the AWD in them more like a WRX where it's always AWD, or is it more like the ATTESSA in the GTRs? By the sound of this TCU tuning, this sounds like a case of someone has made some real software for it, and you just need the right piece of hardware, and then you license that specific vehicle/TCU. Or is this a case of the software will be really expensive so only a few tuners have it, and you still have to pay a license per vehicle?
    • By popular demand.. it was a coil. Got my hands on 1 new OEM coil, replaced with the one that made the less noise difference when I unplugged it while the car was running and started the car up. No stutter and the engine light was gone. I guess I’ll buy the other 5 they have lol
    • No, code 21 is very straightforward. It can only be the things described in that diagnostic flow. In fact it has no way of knowing that the spark plug resistance is out of spec.
    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
