Not likely mate Piggaz 2.8L stroker with all the fruit is probably at around 20psi @ 4K. Full boost on your car would be around 5-5.5K id say.

I'd hope not - my GTRS's were on full song @ 5.5krpm.

When I had -5s, the turbos were getting tickled at about 3.5krpm and pretty were in 'get up and boogy mode'.

Both examples on 2.6ltr.

Sounds about right.

That thing of Paul's is a weapon, and not the average build. It's got ALOT of rnd and tricks, all of which work. A lot of secret squirrel.

yep totally agree with you.

IMO -5s on stock 2.6 will see full boost around 4.5-5K - if you get it earlier than then I want to know.

firstly are you really running 25lb????

secondly if you are, how bout you throw a dyno chart with boost / rpm curve so we can see at what RPM your really making at full boost with -5s....then we will all know.

I'd really like to see an overlay of -9s with -5s on a dyno graph.

:)

Does anyone have this info or happy to post their graphs running -9s and another with -5s...from here, we can overlay to see the difference...would put a lot of debate to rest

There is one out at unigroup on the same car. On the dyno, they came on exactly the same but the 5'a made more grunt. However, to drive they were a TOTALLY different car!

What's wrong with running 25 psi Ants? :P

LOL....I was wondering when you were gonna say somethin.......aside from being a ship load of boost nothin really just curious.....about how long an engine would last if predominately driven at that boost level :glare:

That is odd Paul. Dyno shows that they huy full boost at same rpm?

Didn't answer the question.. why the doubt? I am offended.

Ill try and get the sheet. Or it could have been the power low end was the same but boost levels were pushed to the right a tad on the 5's.

Leave it with me.

I spose the tune would have a massive part in this. Mine lasted 7 years with anything upto 2.0 bar shoved down it... Only died because the oil pump had a hissy fit.

yep totally agree with you.

Mate I watched a built 26 with -5's and poncams on a dyno for a good hour and full boost was by 5000 and it went to 345kw iirc. No chance of getting -5's in by 4 on a 2.6L ;)

I know Paul.....I know. I'm just conservative and want to have an engine tuned to last as well (I will certainly not push my advance spec beyond 25psi). Your car is insane and would of loved to have a 2.8ltr with similar mods to yours :)

Keen to see those graphs though.

    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
    • I don't get in here much anymore but I can help you with this.   The hole is a vent (air relief) for the brake proportioning valve, which is built into the master cylinder.    The bad news is that if brake fluid is leaking from that hole then it's getting past the proportioning valve seals.   The really bad news is that no spare parts are available for the proportioning valve either from Nissan or after market.     It's a bit of a PITA getting the proportioning valve out of the master cylinder body anyway but, fortunately, leaks from that area are rare in my experience. BTW, if those are copper (as such) brake lines you should get rid of them.    Bundy (steel) tube is a far better choice (and legal  in Australia - if that's where you are).
    • EMU Classic. For what I need it to do I see no reason to upgrade. Link and Haltech would both cost an extra chunk of money for a lot of unutilized features
