Dang, I just sold a pair of 215 45 17 RE001 Adrenalins for $300

with only a trip to banella and phillip island on them, about 1000k's

Bit too skinny for my new front rim diameter, but a bit skinner than what your after, would fit perfect on an 8 inch tho.

Just gotta keep your eye out :D

for a decent tyre in that size for that money, your best bet will be Korean. Hankook or Kuhmo. You might be able to wrangle some Toyo or Falken but I doubt it. Oh also you will get into some Federals for that money but they will wear out FAST!!

From what i was told zeetex are also korean and are made from the same material as tyres like the hankooks, i know they work well for me.

heard people say cheap tyres in dandy but where is this place exactly - -"?

I know there is a second hand joint next to the car yard which is next to the tyre factory.

What were they, 195/60/15 or something?

235/45/17 RE001's are closer to $220-$250 fitted EACH.

They have never been sub $200 for 17's

Ring any Bridgestone dealer and they'll tell you the same :P

195/50/15. Not too sure what prices the 17s were, but comparing this place's prices to others, they were the cheapest. Pretty good service too. Instead of making me go to his Box Hill shop (because the 195/50s ran out at Preston store) he got a guy to drive them down.

Where is this place ?

Abbotts Rd, Dandenong South. Near England Street.

just picked up

2x bridgestone adrenalin re001 at $195 each

2x 2nd hand tires with 70% tread for $50 each

im wrapped.

im glad i spent the extra for these tires. cannot describe to you the difference in the car compared to the old worn tires.

how wide are the rims? if they are say 8" front and 9" rears you can put 235 45 17 front and rear or put 215 up front. did you want $1XX for all 4 tyres? or for a whole set?

these are $100 a tyre in brooklyn just near footscray and strip old tyre, fit and then balance for $10 a tyre. these tyres are chinese crap though but will do ya.

this guy on nissan silvia is selling nexens for your fronts if they are 8" wide for $60. still good tread could do ya for the time being.

then buy these for the rears

i know what its like man cause i'm a student too lolz. sometimes you get lucky through the forums with people selling tyres for cheap and thats when you should pounce. try and keep the tyres the same profile to keep the cops happy just in case.

    • So could it be assumed it has been installed intentionally with potentially a power FC boost controller kit?
    • Had my rig on Matt's dyno at PITS the other day. After a few years between tunes I added a few sensors and swapped intercoolers. Result. 553hp at 26psi. Not bad for an FJ20 that was built in 2007. The problem.. It filled the overflow bottle on hard runs which leads me to believe the head gasket isn't sealing. I have a coolant pressure sensor which was reading cap pressure at 22psi and occasionally overrunning to 23/24 psi on deceleration after a pull. It was not spiking. It has arp2000 head studs and a cometic gasket. As its been 18 years in service, I pulled the engine out and head off. Everything looks good but we obviously have an issue. Where I'm at.. Years ago I had the same issue, I checked the stud tension and they were all over the place. Some at 60 to 70 and some up near 90. I nipped them all to 100ft lbs and this stopped the water push until now. I believe this compromised the gasket back then. What do I do? 2 options are..  1) I bought arp 625+s, which I could put in with a new gasket. Thinking Kameari this time, reassemble and try again. 2) strip the block, get fire rings machined in with copper gasket and try that. I do not want to push it more than 28 to 30psi. I think the turbo will be out by then anyway. (G30-770). My other concern is the long term ability of a copper head gasket. Are they streetable for years? I feel like a new gasket with the new studs will probably suffice, but I don't know. Any thoughts welcome and advice on copper gaskets and fire rings. Thanks!
    • I'm a fan of the JZX110, and the Aristo. Big cruiser cars, and with the factory cars, super comfortable and feel like you're driving an armchair! And the JZ motors are a pretty nice engine too, especially with some basic mods.   The import process, and the need to be able to trust people, and the fact there's so many scammers around is what ever puts me off wanting to go through that ordeal!
    • I don't care for these at all, but at least the underside looks straight and not rusty. A good basis for a long life. Many cars from Japan have been lifted with forklifts and f**ked almost irrepairably.
    • Yes, but it's not dumb or dodgy. You can build a perfectly good boost controller from a pressure reg, a relief valve (looks same same as a reg if all from Norgren or SMC, for example) and a check valve. I ran one for years. Only superceded with  EBC because I could get one for cheaps and wanted finer control.   THis mod is certainly not a sketchy boost mod, provided the boost is kept below the "spin to death" threshold of the turbos.
