I'm going to have the same problem, as my R33 gearbox mount is about 150mm further back than standard.

I am making a "C" type mount that carries the original g/box mount on a box section piece of RHS having about 4 mm plates going back to the original mount points braced with a web section fillet.

Just have to get under it and design it, put it on paper and get someone, any welding/pressure vessel shop to make it for you. About any Sheet Metal/Engineering Shop will be able to point you in the right direction if they can't do it themselves.

ok, cheers for that mate, ill let you know what i come with :D

i also thought about dropping bolts through the floor so the mount lines up with the xmember... ?

If you do that, make sure the holes are reinforced, because with continual driving and some hard launching, they will tear out of the floor, making a bigger problem than the initial one you have now.

Might be better to use the orig and mount back to them

ANYTHING will fit if you try hard enough.

I put my SAAS seats, on a piece of 12mm aircraft grade aluminium sheat and then mounted the runners to the same sheet, that way I still had some adjustment front to rear.

I removed the height adjustment as I needed to lower the seating position about 100mm to allow me to sit in the car with a helmet on.

I am going to experiment with R31 seat tracks, as the height adjustment is on the track and not in the seat.

I have a set (pair) of Z32 import seats if anyones interested, they have a fully electric drivers seat. forward & aft, height, lumbar, and wings. Would have to make up mpunts as they are a very narrow seat.

Mike,

Do you presently have DR30 rear brakes?????

If yes! they are identical to Z31 300ZX rear rotors.

If you don't want to buy NEW, find ANY wrecker that has Z31's.

Are the rear z31 calipers similar to DR30?

Mike Cash - how did you go getting through regency?? or have you got any more info on what you would need to do?

ghostrider: im assuming that z31 rear dics would be the import old rb20 z31 or the aussie one, or are they the same size?

nah i got the dr30 rear end on mine at the moment and my dics are undersized from ever use.

as far as regency goes, aparently all you need is the same dics size as a car that had an rb20det. in my case i used r31gts fronts and dr30's rear and other cars have been passed without any engineering certificate or anything.

Will S13 seats fit - i got a set for free.

Measure the rail spacing. I measured a set up for my R31 (which may or may not be closer in design) and the S13 rails were about 45mm too far apart - the R31 centre to centre of the rails was 415mm where the S13 was about 460mm.

What or how do you call an DR30 HEAVY???? What are you comparing it to???? Maybe compared to a Mini, but to another Skyline, it's one of the lightest. DR's max weight 1250Kg, R31's OZZY sedans 1600Kg, HR31 coupes 1350Kg. How you say heavy????

WHOA! where'd you get that weight from for the aussie R31!?!?! I weighed mine with 40l of fuel, spare, tools, jack, assorted crap and full trim and it was 1280kg on an extremely accurate weighbridge. Mine is a "stripper" model GX though, with no luxo bar power steer and aircon, with basic trim, and its manual.

All reports I've heard peg the HR31 at closer to 1400kg, on the + side....Especially for the sloppy fat bitch Passage's...

my epic adventure is comming to a close, pick up the rims with new tryes tomorrow morning went for falkens ze512's 225/50 on the rear and 205/55 on the front, pick up the front seat, new tacho and boost gauge on sat then its fix the lights and shes ready for engineering!!

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
