Ghostrider, that bar you posted is the same as my car has I think

Same as this one? http://r30map.zive.net/~userjun/r30meeting...003/image76.jpg

This car is quite similar to what mine was like when it was imported... mine also had the HUGE wing, but no cage, and its white

I used to like the Ironmask front, but I think it looks silly from any angle except about 45 degrees. The MR30 style front can look tougher I think, but only if it's done right

Gonna go check if my bar is the same now

Yep, thats my bar. One piece glass.

Wouldnt mind seeing a pic of that bar with a standard front

Adam,

What I'm playing with is:

1. stock lights with iron mask bonnet & cut down stock HR grille, fill in bottom space.

2. stock lights with cut down iron mask grille

3. same as above with either standard DR front spoiler/air dam

4. same as above with my front bar/air dam.

Will post the hashed results when completed. Thought I might sell my MR30 Hatch with iron mask lights, grille & standard bonnet, same as the jap guy. Would be diferent look for here.

Sorry guys,my bad.I was meaning that it had a 31 Blinker custom fitted to it,I know the 31's are in a different location stock. :D Of course it's not anyway,I forgot the later 30's had that style blinker. :slap: I was still thinking of the old "square" type.

HR31 flares are avaiable from R31 House, and there's spose to be some guys from "R31 Skyline club" getting copies made up here.

just got some updated pics.....i do have some engine ones but there too big so i'll have to get them smaller!! those rims will be resprayed black later as they look more gold than black at the moment!!

just looking through that website again and found this one, this is what i want mine to look like when she's finished, one day!! that is the kind of rear wing i want and a nice new front bar, something like the one ghostrider posted up resprayed would be great. looks like i'm a long way off!!

Hey guys I havint been on this forum for about 4 or 5 months and seem to have missed a bit. Far out this one big thread allright 850++ post and 30 pages wow. Anyway ive got a 1984 HR30 Skyline 4 door sedan which is now in the prosess of having a Mazda 13B Rotary engine :D (yes I know a very odd swap but very original) so far its had motor fitted to make the engine and gearbox X-members, its been paneled and repainted in a nice bright red with a silver pearl and plenty of sparkle, and the interior has been redone with a momo 320mm, new carpet, 2 black racetech bucket seats, black rear seats out of a f15a mitsi diamante, Autometer 5" Tacho/Oil pres/Water temp and fuel pres gauges the wheels are 17x8 ROH ZS's, just sent the motor away to get rebuilt and ported, rear disc end out of turbo model been fitted, now have to decide what im going to do with the suspension/breaks, (probably go with s13 fronts, with r32 gts-t 4 pot's and dont know with the rear yet) Just as long as it is fully sacked out hard!! and im waiting for my r200 lsd to be rebuilt so I can chuck it in, waiting on my turbo cosmo 5speed to arrive from japland also and my custom made 4 core alloy radiator and no dout I will find a few other bits and peices to do or rebuild as I go or get more cash. I will have the car on the road by september 25 (a while away but im in no hurry because thats when I get my licence back if I get it going any earlyer I will end up driving it and geting in trouble). Please dont be to harsh on me for my choice of powerplant for it :D

    • Did you panel beat the dents or have you tried to repair this only using filler?  Is your sanding block soft/flexible and is following the shape of the panel rather then just knocking down the high points?
    • I haven't knocked them down yet. I think I made the repair more complex than it should have been. I had rock chips combined with waviness and dents and I tackled it all in one because it was near each other and just end up wasting a bunch of bog lol. I'll knock down those areas and see how I go. And yep what you are saying at the end is correct. I think I might be sanding the top of a steep hill then my sanding block falls into the dent and gets rid of the guidecoat if that makes sense. Though shouldnt unless I'm covering too big of an area with not a long enough block. I'll try something new and provide some updates. Getting there though! Thanks as always.
    • Yeah makes sense, hard to comment on your situation without seeing what your doing. I was talking generally before, I would not be looking to randomly create low spots with a hammer to then have to fill them.  It's hard without seeing what your doing, it sounds like you are using the guide coat to identify low spots, as you're saying the panel is still wavy. I don't see how you're not ending up with patches of guide coat remaining in a wavy panel? Once the high spots are knocked down to the correct level, surely to have a wavy panel you need low spots. And those low spots would have guide coat still in them?
    • So I'll put filler past the repair area a bit to make sure I don't miss anything. Then I'll block it until it's almost level, put the guidecoat, then keep blocking until it's gone. Then it's still wavy.  In regards to hitting the panel, I saw this video might give more context - Skip to 0:47 he knocks it down. But yeah I'm sanding until the guidecoat is gone then checking because otherwise my filler is still well above the bodyline. Unless what you're saying is I should put guidecoat around it early, surrounding the filler then stip once it's gone?
    • I refreshed the OEM injectors with the kit and connected it up. It now ideals okay even with the IACV removed. Driving still has the same cutoff issue like the 550cc injectors so the issue is somewhere else. I bought FPG's Fuel Pump Hanger. I will be installing it next, but it is not as straightforward as I thought it was with my limited wiring knowledge and no instruction on the specific model I purchased (FPG-089). I also got the incorrect billet clamp as I could not find info on the OEM sizing.
