classic rookie seems the way to go to get into classic for free in 2011.

we'll have it built by then wont we :P

If not i know of a "spare" car that it could be done in. lol

targa 2010

Theres been plenty of r32 gtst entered in targa before but none have shone through like the mighty Woo, and in doing so has shown that with the right parts and the right pair of ball in both driver and nav seat that it can be done and done well.

At the end of the day the fact is you guys put it to the porsche guys. last year in targa classic 08 the top 14 cars were porsche's

and given that you are throwing a $20,000 car at trees rather than a $200,000 that makes it even better.

I doubt i could run the rookie after doing the real thing. Day 4-5 is what it's all about.

I'm with you on that Ben - I've toyed with the idea of driving rookie but don't think I could having experienced the final days.

we'll have it built by then wont we :)

Thanks Damo! I'll get that case of Bourbon delivered before the weekend. But mate, who told you 200k? I've heard upwards of 300k... ;) And don't forget the mod cons like ABS etc! (not much 1974 left inem) :(

Re GTS-t and Rookie. Top bloke D Griffiths won it comfortably last year in his 32 GTS-t and gained his free entry into the full caper this year...... in a virtually identical car. Where'd he finish up?

My opinion is still if you have never done Targa before then you'd be better off either having a go in the crazy seat first OR if like me you just couldn't do that then have a go at the Rookie Rally. Because no matter how much you read up on the event you just can't be prepared for what you actually need to do to get to the end of it until you've been there to see it once. But I understand if you have done the full event before (even from the crazy side) it would be hard to go backwards.

But I have no regrets in doing the Rookie Rally at all. There were enough epic stages to keep me satisfied and it means I can look forwards to some new ones next year.

And in answer to your question Ben - D Griffiths this year finished considerably better than the 2008 Modern Rookie Winner did this year  And if I can finish next year in Modern as well at Griffith did this year in Classics I'll be wrapped

But watch out for 2011 :)

I agree with you 100% Snowy, Rookie is the best thing to happen to targa in years IMO.

Regardless of the pace that is set in Rookie this year, last year, whatever (and please do not for a second think I have been even remotely trying to play down what you guys achieved - YOU WON IT!!!!!) to win any event you only need to go as fast as you need to stay in front. Just staying in front is the smartest way to run any event isn't it. :)

2011??? Can't wait to send you home with your tail between your legs! lol **(no doubt will live to regret this piece of trash talk)** lol

I keep trying to think of other cars that you could win classic in, but there isn't anything for the money that compares with the Woo32.

Anything else good starts at $100k and gets dearer, mind you i think Woo could drive just about anything half decent and go as good!

http://my105.com/classified.asp?id=12260 This would be a good buy (but if you don't buy it, there is every chance I might get to Nav in it :) )

http://my105.com/classified.asp?id=12459 Remember this car benny? You might have to look at the owners name to remember

your old bus is down to $65,000 Ben http://www.my105.com/classified.asp?id=12132

I was planning at getting a gtst to circuit race before targa started this year. But after a combination of bad targa with Dad, and Ben showing that one can be compeditive enough if driven hard enough. I decided to build it for targa, plus i can't afford to run a gtr (seems to be a common line)

bradfod put some of his crashes on youtube

Mr "Hollywood" or The Woo strikes again.

i can now see why he is called Mr Hollywood. i just went and seen the new movie, The Hangover, and it starts the man him self Mr Woo. well at least the whole way through the movie i kept thinking it was Ben ect.

i know its way off topic but if you happen to see it you may see the similar resemblance that i did.

or then again maybe not. :P

lol

i just know if i put my gtr in it it will be dead by the end

while the gts they only cost 2k and new bits are can be bought for beer!

Hi

Took the wife and our Aus delivered R32 GTR to TARGA this year and had a run in the tour as I don't want to put a roll cage in it. If anyone is thinking about TARGA have a run in the tour, you get all the socials, a chance to drive quick and see what it's like. Our unoficial times were faster than quite a few of the competitiors. Car didn't miss a beat, just drank a lot of fuel.

Not going next year as we are off to South America but have plans for 2011 in another R32 GTR.

JM

    • LOL, all of the CAI like Craig I just need to put a hole saw through my bumper Done and dusted, the car runs, which is nice, I'll take it for a spin when the weather clears up Just need to put the bumper back on for good

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
