Just a note to everyone that there is no food provided at regatta centre, so please come with some snacks and drinks for the cruise. There are two cafe's near our destination but to avoid a long queue (its only a small cottage cafe) you can always pick stuff up from service stations on your way to the regatta.

That's right mate, everyone should be stocking up food-wise before getting to the initial meet at the Regatta Centre at Penrith, as we have no planned stops from Penrith to Mount Wilson, as per Eugene (mxfly)'s program.

Make sure you bring Eugene's PDF program, your buff'd and wax'd ride, some food, and a pen/pencil if you can, to help with the voting. Everyone should have a great time, but take note the police are informed about the event at both ends, and if they smell trouble, well the source of the trouble will be snuffed out.

So don't forget your best behaviour as well

(yes mum)

Weather forecast looks good, BOM says showers until Thursday, clearing Friday with temps in mid 20s Fri-Sat. So a good opp. on Sat to do your detailing as Shanil has recommended :)

lookin forward to meeting Bobby since he stole the car i was gonna buy :(

:-)

Hey Nick, would def be good to catch up.

Looking like 90% at this stage.

On Saturday the N1 goes down to the gong to get my new clutch fitted for a trackday the following week. If all goes well, I've been told you should run a clutch in, and what better way to do that than drooling over other Skylines!

So pleased to have you Pete! Great to see all the ladies too!

On the cruise itself starting at 10.30 sharp, you'll be in Group #2 cars, all R34s

Ah yes the blue 33 shall be making an appearence. Cant wait hope the weather stays sunny. Am bringing cmoney in his 32 and my mate in his 34. all St clair crew lol. See you out there.

Good to see you guys there Bass, Hamish and Luke!

Luke, just remember that the R34 GTTs/GTs will be in Group #2

and Non R34s will be in Group #3

This way, there'll be no mess-ups with parking up at Mt Wilson.

Groups #1 #2 #3 will be separated by just a few minutes because of the numbers and to better organise parking up the top.

Cheers,

Terry

Hey Tez,

Are you guys going to be organising parking for the non 34's by model as well?

I'm just thinking if you're going to all the trouble of organising groups it would make for very stunning pics if all the 33's were together, 32's together etc etc.

Sorry if it's already been discussed, haven't read through all the pages. :woot:

Hey Bobby,

Due to our tight schedule, we will not be organising car parking arrangements for the 3rd group. Also because we're parked right next to a 2 lane public road where other drivers will be using, it's going to be difficult to shuffle cars around on the street.

Yah no worries ill let my mates know whats happening. Just cant wait to get out with all the other skylines. Should be a great day. See you all there. :P

    • Yeah, it's getting like that, my daughter is coming over on Thursday to help me remove the bonnet so I can install the Carbuilders underbonnet stuff,  I might get her to give me a hand and remove the hardtop, maybe, because on really hot days the detachable hardtop helps the aircon keep the interior cool, the heat just punches straight through to rag top I also don't have enough hair for the "wind in the hair" experience, so there is that....LOL
    • Could be falling edge/rising edge is set wrong. Are you getting sync errors?
    • On BMWs what I do because I'm more confident that I can't instantly crush the pinch welds and do thousands of USD in chassis damage is use a set of rubber jacking pads designed to protect the chassis/plastic adapter and raise a corner of the car, place the aforementioned 2x12 inch wooden planks under a tire, drop the car, then this normally gives me enough clearance to get to the front central jack point. If you don't need it to be a ramp it only needs to be 1-1.5 feet long. On my R33 I do not trust the pinch welds to tolerate any of this so I drive up on the ramps. Before then when I had to get a new floor jack that no longer cleared the front lip I removed it to get enough clearance to put the jack under it. Once you're on the ramps once you simply never let the car down to the ground. It lives on the ramps or on jack stands.
    • Nah. You need 2x taps for anything that you cannot pass the tap all the way through. And even then, there's a point in response to the above which I will come back to. The 2x taps are 1x tapered for starting, and 1x plug tap for working to the bottom of blind holes. That block's port is effectively a blind hole from the perspective of the tap. The tapered tap/tapered thread response. You don't ever leave a female hole tapered. They are supposed to be parallel, hence the wide section of a tapered tap being parallel, the existince of plug taps, etc. The male is tapered so that it will eventually get too fat for the female thread, and yes, there is some risk if the tapped length of the female hole doesn't offer enough threads, that it will not lock up very nicely. But you can always buzz off the extra length on the male thread, and the tape is very good at adding bulk to the joint.
    • Nice....looking forward to that update
