Well after three weeks of waiting for finance to come through it has finally been approved!!!!

I fly up to sydney on the 17th (next week) to pick the car up and drive back to tassie the following day, what better way to come acquainted with a new car

then a 10hr drive!

i do have one question, the car is registered in nsw so will i have to pay stamp duty there and also when i re register it in tas?

here is a picture of my new car

you can get a 2day to 1month rego with no plates . . . just a peice of paper on the winow

and looking at your drivers side fog light, looks like your missing the reflector next to it .... if a reflector goes there, check out the difference

It's a 1998 WC34 2.5 TURBO 5 SPEED MANUAL :D

Another car from HCN if I'm not mistaken (www.allimports.com.au).

Talk to Sean Phan when you are getting the car, he sold me my Stagea M35 and he was pretty cool.

Good luck!

The comes with rego already so i might as well use that up and then get it registered in tas

dont know never had to look for one, might have to buy whole setup wit fog light and indicator also

It is indeed missing the front badge, and from the photo's the only badge on the back is the Stagea on the left hand side and possibly the Nissan in the middle of the back below the window.

No RS Four etc.

Some of you guys have recommended debading so it's nearly all done :)

I would love to do a roadtrip back to Tassie with Punk just for something to do, but fuel costs don't allow it!

Though I have heard it's awesome to drive around Tasmania, nice and twisty! ;)

Punk72 - if you want someone to show your car too and you are near the blacktown region let me know :D I might even be able to get Nick to bring his WC34 so you can get a list of mod's started

That would be cool to catch up, but it all depends on the time and if i can find my way around Sydney!!

Yeah i like the idea of the de badging make the car look cleaner/smoother or something but i do like it.

I am getting a mechanic to look at it today, i am sure all will be good as its only done 50000km ish just for piece of mind!!

I am not sure which i am more excited about the drive back to tas or getting the car, i guess its both as you cant do one with out the other,

No its the car!! :)

Nick - sorry for dropping your name :) I just thought you would have a bit of an idea what to look for so you could have a squiz at the car and I'm sure you know a lot of mods you can suggest as we all love mods!

Punk - Where are you are picking the car up from is quiet close to the CBD of Sydney were as Nick and myself are located further back towards Penrith. But I'm sure you want to give it a drive to test it out before you start the big journey home!

Good idea with the Mechanic, especially when you are driving it so far to get it home. Last thing you want is to be stuck on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere.

Are you extending the warranty on the vehicle?

I went for a 5 Year Parts & Labour Warranty (includes roadside assistance ALL states) for an extra $1000, as I was buying a $19,000 car it was just a bit of extra piece of mind. But they also have the option of 3 Years ($750) or 1 Year ($500).

I have had a very brief look at the car and the body is quiet neat, nothing major from memory. I think you will be cheering when you pick it up.

Hope all goes well with the mechanic, I assume he is an indepedent so you get an honest, un-biased opinion :) *finger's crossed*

Let us all know how it goes, I don't know about anyone else but I am excited for you ;)

Well just got the mechanic report and it seems all good, it needs a wheel alignment and there was a oil sweat mark on the transfer case (very miner) and a few nicks here and there! I talked to sean and he was all to keen to take care of the wheel alignment and have a look at the transfer case, i went for the one year option but now thinking maybe 3 years would be the go,

I was eying that not a f%#k'n volvo sticker off thinking thats pretty cool

No its just a normal stagea not a prime edition stag

This discussion went very quiet, what's the gossip :P

Hopefully everything is still on target for your new car Punk72.

Shoot us an update, I'm on the Central Coast at the moment and I'm not sure if I will be in the Sydney region on Tuesday.

See how I go, mobile is 0438 242 573 and email is [email protected]

    • Please use a modern ECU. PowerFC with the Nintendo Gameboy controller is horrible. It's not 2005 anymore.
    • The car/ECU will have all the sensor that it needs and expect to have. I think i do not have to explain to you how the Link is way better specialy if you have swapped engine   I just do not want to deal with any "problems" cuz i have only Nistune which i learned is not that great and in my case cant even deal with that speed problem (Link can) And of course it will be way more easier to tune and diagnose and safe. And for the ECU/speed problem...i dont know.
    • Per Mark Roberts of Sonictune: Mark Robert Author At this time, no. No ETA either 2016-17 models. You will be able to purchase and install a 2018.5+ TCU though   TCU purchasing and pricing info! As we near the release of TCU tuning, I am going to answer some questions I get asked often.   What do I need for TCU tuning? At this time, you will need a 2018.5+ TCU to be able to tune. If you have a 2016-to early 2018, you will need to replace your TCU with the newer version. One good way to know if your TCU is good is if you have auto upshift in manual mode in 1st gear around 6500 rpms. If your manual 1st gear goes to 7k rpm and will hit the rev limiter unless you shift, you have the older TCU.   Why do I need to buy another ecu license/phone flash if I already have it on my ECU tune? The TCU is its own computer module. It is completely separate from the ECU. Because of this, you will be required to purchase a TCU license and, if your tuner has it, the phone flash license required to tune it via phone/bluetooth.   Do I need TCU tuning? TCU tuning is NOT required. However, the faster your setup, the more it will assist in track and dragy time consistency.   If I’m ECU tuned by (tuner A) can I get my TCU tuned by (Tuner ? Yes, since it’s a different module and a completely separate flash, you can have two different tuners. However, it is highly recommend that you have both tuned by the same tuner. For me, my TCU tuning will directly complement my ECU tuning style and features and running my ECU and another TCU or vice versa MIGHT cause some issues. At this time and for the foreseeable future, I will only be tuning my current ECU tuned customers TCUs.     I have a SYVECS AWD controller. Do I still need it? Yes! The AWD controllers main job is to control your AWD system. However, with TCU tuning, you will no longer need the auto-shift function as that will be done through the TCU. The AWD controller will still be very beneficial for racers looking to maximize traction on the launch.     Shift schedule changes: holding gears longer at lower pedal input as well as max shift rpm changes. Please note, the new ECU race rom coming out will address 90% of the shitty drivability issues these cars have through custom maps from myself and Racebox—as well as others I am sure.   Increase shift speeds: as seen in the videos I’ve been posting, the TCU shifts much faster once tuned.   Increased shift pressures: as also seen in the videos, much firmer full throttle shifts.

    • The fancy pants red shock tower brace is finally incoming from MX5 Mania, getting it shipped from 'Merica has been a long and problematic process, and GWR, the 'Merican supplier will not ship directly to consumers outside of the US, Mania basically had to order a heap of them, the colour choice was silver, or red, and we all know anything red adds 5 killerwasps of dynotorques..... Whilst it does fit over a 2.5, and I've seen a few photos and videos of it being installed and fitting, google also says it might get real close to the FAB9 intake front runner, people in the US says it does fit with the FAB9 intake, except for one person who said it slightly touched.......so there is that.....LOL..... As it seems that I am the first in AU to have this combination of parts there's no local knowledge about fitment, so I'm just a willing guinea pig in this endeavour, I'll cross my fingers and toes and hope for the best In other news, I ordered stuff from China  on the same day I ordered the 23° silicone bend from Victoria, the stuff from China arrived a day ago, the 23° silicone bend is still travelling around Australia thanks to Australia Post, and "may" be here next week
