Kellie this sounds like a great idea, bout time someone got the ball rolling! I think SAUSA is the best way to go, considering the resources at hand. Too bad i wont be able to make the meeting next wednesday, had a bit to do with CCCSA (Chrysler Car Club of SA) a fewe years back but if i can help out in any way i will

one thing to ponder, if all the regulars go off to this club, what will become SAU SA? a ghost town? or will it be a extension of SAU?

Wednesday, hmmm guess I missed out already..lol didnt get a chance to load up MSN.

SAU will never become a ghost town! :)

Omg I hope you guys do decide to go with SAU-SA and can design different looking stickers if worried people wont be able to tell the difference between club and normal SAU..All to be discussed ion the meetings

So exciting I have been waiting a long time to see this happen and wish you guys all the best..

Shoot me a PM if you need any help Kel and Freinds!

Will be visiting SA in the coming months too!!

thinking about this alot last night, im glad you have chosen the SAU:SA path Kel, im happy to help out but cant make the meeting.

Pending Pranks approval of course, i think this can work. Regarding stickers, if we want to seperate outselves, i was thinking of something along the lines of:

SAUSA.gif

more refined of course, and maybe the S in "SA" in white.

Those who are interested in motorsport you can't beat Nissan Datsun Car Club (NDCCSA). $50 single or family membership is damn cheap CAMS affiliated, might be worth trying to structure the membership fees around NDCCSA.

May be worth while looking in to becoming affiliated with MSCA as its an invaluable addition to a car club. Makes for a great day racing against some exotics, great fun handing it to a dodge viper!! :)

Some very quick cars out there.

IMO no affiliation with MSCA = loose.

--- Hope all goes well with the car club. The biggest issue is the liability side of things on cruises etc. Be careful make sure you cover yo ass if its more of a social club than motorsport.

awesome logo Damo, i was thinking something similar to the SAU logo but with the 'A' to make SA to the right of the 'S'

and as far as costs go, someone good with maths should work it out :) enough to cover events etc

Good idea on the logo Damo. How would the S in SA look as blue? IMO it would look better.

a club is going to need someone that can spell, use grammar, and also be a nice person in general.

as for the people saying 'good to get the ball rolling', im pretty sure the sausa ball has been rolling for a long time, it just hasnt taken anyone out along the way.

    • Neostead, I'm looking to have a custom surround done that also has a slot for a fog light. Would you be willing to create a 3d model I can buy or create and ship me the part or even provide/sell the current model for me to modify? Cheers
    • Did some maintenance on the MX5, did the engine oil and filter which was uneventful, then I drained the coolant to put in the new reservoir and a thermostat, reservoir took 5 minutes  The thermostat, well that took.........3 bloody hours, what a job, the issue was the 3 bolts holding it on, one was easy, 2 were hidden and required a few 1/4 drive extensions, 1 more than I had, and a 1/4 swivel, which I also didn't have, and a good amount of playing contortionist  Getting the 2 unseen bolts back on was a time consuming nervous nightmare, as I couldn't see where they went there was alot of stabbing and hoping for the best, trying to line up a 8 mm bolt straight, which you cannot actually see or get a hand in there, with a 1/4 swivel in the mix was a nightmare Anyways, it's done now, all burped out, and run up to temp a few times, happily no leaks thank Jebus After the thermostat fiasco I decided I need a few mental health days away from tools before doing the rest of the servicing on it As for the Dunnydoore, it had the aircon regassed and it has a clean bill of health, thinking about taking it out on Monday for a cruise down the coast to look at some houses if weather permits
    • In other important race car news, instead of fixing the race car I changed the crank seals on the chainsaw, because wood burner Some damn tight (and lock tighted) m6 head bolts Who knew plastic crank cases were a thing! Quick tip, don't trust the youtube videos that say you can pull the old seals out with the head on in a husky 440e...not true, their crank seal tucks in behind the cover both sides. I'm not sure I'm a psychopath, but these things are damn loud....hope I can put all the bits back in the right place    Happily, it is now back to turning fallen trees into a combination of firewood logs and wood chips....just need a clear day to get into it properly
    • I've got 60L of e85 in there at the moment
    • Don't forget to make sure the tank is full to the brim before you try to replace the fuel pump too, that is an essential step.
