yup done a few rb20's and rb25's for SAU's. Wheezy is one of them. Jaycar or MSD for the vct switching point activator. Seriously though we now just fit a LINK G4 plugin (rebaged here as vipec)

the vipec also sits inside your stock ecu case ?? so its fairly undetectable correct me if im wrong

Yer your right it does.

I just did a quick readup on it n it sounds freakn awsum. The only thing i couldnt find was a price for the unit, anyone know what it costs for the unit? (most of the dealers say call for price so it sounds scary).

Also does it use the stock knock sensor as a input?

D-jetro onto RB25 is super easy,

2 wires on the plug get changed, you do the MAP and IAT wires (again super easy) and a $80 MSD controler for the VCT

Took me all of 30 minutes to get the R33 GTR D-jetro ecu working on my R33 GTS-T,

Just to rock the boat, with me having mapped both cars I get better responce, better drivability and better fuel consumption from the D-jetro! for the price, ease of mapping and hand controler for monitoring Knock ectr I still prefer the PFC over the other brands... though all the race cars i do either use autronics or haltech's

Just ordered 2 Vipec plug-in ecus and 5bar map sensors and expansion loom on monday, they are going for $1765, and $187 for the map sensor and $70 for expansion loom.

you can use the stock knock sensors or aftermarket ones doesnt matter, but you will need a knock amplifier for either, unless you get the V88 version which has the amplifier built in. the V88 goes for about $2500~

D-jetro onto RB25 is super easy

Cheers Rezlo.

nengun prices are really cheap atm so i'm thinking bout geting my Djetro unit soon.

So the R33 GTR Djetro unit plugs stright into my RB25 loom? And the only extra gear i have to order is 1xMAP sensor, 1x Air Intake Temp sensor, Sumthing to control my VCT and can u use the Apexi Boost control solonide through the exsisting wireing of the standard boost control solonoide?

cheers Davo

please dont just plug it and start the car

there are numerous differences on the GTR 26 PFC vs ECR33 PFC

injectors, maps, ignition timing, 02 sensor settings, airflow meters, airflow rams, wiring changes

so be sure you check *everything* before you do it

I sold my PFC Pro for my 33 Gtst, to help fund an engine rebuild, and was looking at getting a vipec plug in....but the price of those has gone up and up since they were released, so Im now looking at different options for the car.

So just curious as to what can/can't be done.

the PFC FAQ Covers how to mangle the rb26 djetro for use the rb25, but there is no gain in anything

it costs more, you have to do some custom work and wire changes etc, you also loose VCT, so you need a box/controller for that

its by far easier to use normal RB25 PFC and just get a larger scaled AFM such as Z32

this is by far the easiest, cheapest and quickest method to get it working again

yeah thats pretty much what I had figured...just gotta find somone who will part with their PFC for a realistic price...I sold my Pro version for 1200...and there are people trying to sell the normal version for nearly 2k...just gotta wait i guess...but will be funny driving the car around with the Standard ECU and injectors with a Big high mount hanging off the side....gonna be babying it for a while lol

Whats the price of the Vipec now?

I sell the Link, which as has been said is the Vipec before Ray Hall gets his hands on it, and they are very well priced for what they are. We have been having timing problems with PFC's of late and try not to fit them/sell them now.

why would you ever risk your hard earn $ and time and run a std ecu?

if you cant run it properly, dont run it at all

too often we see guys spend $$$$

put a stock ecu with heaps of mods

cos they cant be assed waiting

they load it up and bring it on boost

and cause damage

youve been warned

I think 1800 for the entry level? Pricing is on the site.

If your having timing problems, that aint the PFC's fault.

    • Yeah I suspect even if you hold airmass per cycle/cylinder constant if you get too far away from stock you're still going to have problems running the factory tune within the bounds of the factory load scale. Cams, different displacement/rod ratio, etc. I'm just lucky that the GTIII-SS with wastegate boost + CA compliance cats is pretty much equivalent to stock turbos. When I have actual space I can finally get it tuned and modify the fuel system for flex fuel to 100% handle any detonation concerns when cranking the boost to whatever those dinky turbos can put out.
    • I would say no, why, because my daughter, who also lives in Goulburn, hasn't recommended us going there Pity, as we miss all the German joints around in Sydney, actually, the restaurants are the only thing I really miss about Sydney, and a special mention to Ishibanboshi at Bondi Junction, their Kara-age Don is heart cloggingly deliciousness (always added a special boiled egg...or 2) 😋
    • Does that German restaurant still exist in the old place out the NW end of Goulburn? When I say "out the NW end of"...I am really being vague. It was 1997 when I was last there, and the only point of reference I can recall is that it was on the opposite side of the main drag from the big merino. And when I say "opposite side of the main drag", I don't mean "on the main drag". It was either a couple of streets back from there, or might have even been out in the sticks a bit further. Was an old farm building or mill or somesuch. And when I say "the big merino" I might actually be thinking of a completely different part of town, because I just looked on maps and the big bugger is not where I remembered him to be! The food was good, consisting largely of various German mystery-meat sausage/loaf things and kartofflen.
    • So while the second sentence is completely correct and the whole point of the conversation, the first sentence bears consideration. If this bloke is just hoping to throw big turbos on and drive it around, because there are no helpful facilities at all in his tropical paradise** then he likely has zero chance of even knowing what the TP is on the last column in the stock maps, let alone know whether the ECU is operating anywhere near it or past it. So the point is very very moot. And, per what I said before, at stock boost on those turbos, you may well be off the end of the map. **I'm just back from Vanuatu, so I know exactly what small Pacific nations can be like wrt paradise without requisite facilities. But it's not even that simple. I put a high flow on my car and had to drive it around with a proper tune because of the lack of opportunity*** to put the bigger AFM and injectors into it to allow it to be tuned. I had to turn the boost down to less than I had before, and back off the boost controller's ramp, because it was exploring parts of the map that it didn't drive in before, and really couldn't access for tuning on the dyno either, and so was pinging. It was still well within the last column, because when I first**** set up the Nistune on the Neo I rescaled all axes of the maps to give some more space to explore. ***Family dyno was broken ****This was 13 years ago, and the TIM thing wasn't a thing then and so TP would definitely grow when pushing past the stock tune's limits.
    • Yep, this bit another local owner. I caught it before putting the transmission back into the car, what I noticed was the pressure plate fingers weren't flat and even. It's more obvious with the pull style clutch because the throwout bearing ring was visibly not flat once everything is put together. Nismo should really update their instructions to call out this specific detail. I'm not even sure the clutch as-shipped orients everything properly.
