dubstep / breaks / d&b / future beats

this is what electronic broken beat is all about! that has the potential to be a brilliant set / night Craig mate

im gonna download that set posted in that thread on ITM.

Krafty Kuts plays a bit like this too, not so much with the dubstep, but more a set starting off breaks > hip hop > drum & bass > and back to finish with breaks. Loved every show of his ive been to - the guy has a good following here in Adelaide; shown the night he managed to pack out the crown and sceptre to near capacity on a Wednesday night gig of his a while back - hardly anyone heads out on Wednesdays! i'll have to see if i can stumble across a good set of his and post a link!

yeah mate 4sure.

Sceptre has some really nice sounding speakers there now. real deep sounding basslines. not loud thunmpy if you know what I mean. just real lows and real crisp sounds. ]

A whole group of us are going to this show. will be a few there im sure.

That mix is real good. Reso even adds little samples from the chopper movie, classic. real real techy sounds in parts

im liking minimal and techno too more and more these days. But doesn't do it for me over deep and progressive house.

Some of the real out-there bleepy & glitchy stuff is a bit much imo. But some great tunes above nevertheless, i love a bit of everything with these genres

heres one i've always liked;

Should hear it over a big system, its mental:

Robert Babicz - Sin (Gui Borrato Remix)

and ive been playing the Sasha - Invol2ver cd a lot lately. He's known for prog mainly, but him a lot of the big name prog djs are producing/playing minimal and tech house these days:

this is one of the tracks featured on the album, but played in the club (MOS nightclub in London) - sounds real beefed up played through that club system!

wow,. really like the robert babicz track. real nice. reminds me of Neil van gogh. (back a few years) Used to love the prog house stuff. still do. Wish it would come back stronger.

Gotta head out. but got the second track on hold. Have a listen to it later.

listen to this. Doesn't get any deeper

Love the first track. Also the build up half way, real nice. last track is nice too

that first track sounds very similar to Trentemoller - Polar Shift ! very cool, i like it!

LOL - hows that - clicked the 'more info' bit on the video, and its a Trentemoller track... I was fooled by the iTunes advert that popped up the start labelling it a Glenn Morrison track

this a very cool mix, some big names in there from the usual suspects of the Get Physical & Kompakt xtra labels. I really like get physical as a lot of the releases are a bit more house oriented rather than full blown minimal and tech'd out! Definitely releases i'm happy to add to my collection and throw in a mix for good measure

true what you say about the prog too Craig, definitely died in the arse a fair bit. But bring the big guns back here any time, Dave Seaman, Sasha, Digweed, Satoshi Tomiie, Sander K, Tom Novy etc. guaranteed they'll over fill and sell out any big night spot venue here.

Seen John Digweed play here at Future last year, but i think he was as about excited as to get his set done and out the way, as us punters were waiting for nightfall > it was f*&^n over 40 degrees that day, he played at 3pm in the blazing sun for a 1.5 hour set... bloody waste! The man needs at least 3 hours! And you'd want it to be the closing set of the day...

was still a top day with awesome sets from all acts; Diggers, Sven Vath <-- wicked minimal and techno from that bloke, Roger Sanchez, and then the Chemical Brothers (which was at night).

On the prog side of things this year - there have been a few acts down; Sander K @ future 09, Paolo Mojo @ the Bunka (upstairs part of the Austral i believe), and Hybrid a couple of weeks ago @ garage. I hardly ever go out any more, wish i went to all these shows. I did however go to future that day, and Sander played a ripper of a set. I took a few vids too:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sq9mGoQtOS4

and on the topic of minimal & techno, Richie Hawtin played straight after him. 3 hour set. Absolute gold. The bloke plays straight off a laptop - if you do a search in youtube, there is a 5 or 6 part series on the software he uses and his set up, its phenomenal!

another vid i took on the day of Richie Hawtin: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fg50buuQ0N0

Spewing my N95 nokia is very sensitive to sound and distorts so easily though ;/

Had a big reply to this thread two days ago. Hit some button and lost it all. ffs.

trying to upload some of my tunes. wont work on here. But once they are on youtube ill send u the link , tell me what you think. Sorta work in progress . tech house sorta stuff

You gonna head to that RESO show on the 29th ? Looking to be a big night. Trust me, you'll be impressed with the sound. Real real nice. Dubstep deff hits another level watching it played live.

hard to say dude, I'm one of these guys who leaves all my decision making to the last minute when it comes to being places on the weekend. Would definitely love to check it out though.

Just remembered i'll most likely be heading to the port and nth melb game that evening. Might head into town after the game, that would work out well!

Some nice sounds up there Krishy. pretty deep. ^

would sound nice on a big system.

Luciano. No worries. ill send you my number later. If you head we'll in have to have a drink.

Also some mates are gonna be playin dnb this sat at the worldsend. Outside if anyone is heading in.

for sure Craig, PM me your number towards the night, and ill throw an sms your way if i head into town. Im always keen for beers and some good beats when in the city at night mate. If port win i'll probably get tanked and make a big night of it, lol

not bad Krishy. i like this trance style that Markus Schulz plays like this one above, its very cool in big outdoor festival type sets

I dont know what it is, but i cant stand trance in clubs, it just drives me to want to leave the place. I am a house head though, go figure...

i could've sworn i read a very recent post from one of the regulars on here saying they have a parkway ticket that they wont be able to use Penny, cant remember who it was or what thread i read it in though!

    • Yeah, plenty of air flow, there is a dedicated path that feeds the air in to the OEM intake tube behind the bumper As for a "tangible effect", maybe, but getting the pod/intake air out of the hot engine bay is worth it psychologically to me, even if it gives no performance difference, so the tangible effect in my Lizard brain saysss yessss  In the end, to me a tangible effect isn't always about performance, sometimes it a sound or a look, or even a...... feeling  Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga
    • yeah first and reverse is where you will find clutch release issues (whether hydraulic or mechanical) because the difference in revs required is the highest there; particularly changing down from 2nd to 1st when still moving. To be clearer though, it is possible that the clutch release bearing is the wrong height. This is less likely than a hydraulic issue but it is not unheard of when you are mixing and matching
    • Quite right, if you make it to that pension you deserve every cent
    • Hi all, Restoring r33 series 1 rb25det. All the heater hoses were on their way out, have replaced them and put it all back together. After testing I noticed a small leak from behind the head on the actual metal water line to the turbo when cars warm. I tried running a longer hose over it but it kept leaking...   I am about to take the (stock) manifold off again😔 to change the water line does any one have any lines they recommend? I was looking at Aeroflow Turbo Oil & Water Line Set but not sure what everyone else recommends. Car is completely stock but want to upgrade turbo eventually. it looks like ill have to disconnect a lot just to replace these lines so if there's anything else recommended to do please let me know. Thank you in advance!
    • From memory, on the R33 GTSt at least, while everyone says "It's not adjustable", I found when I changed clutches in mine, it just needed a small adjustment on the rod length. But be very wary here, as you could end up trying to push the pushrod in the master too far, or blowing out the slave.   Most likely though, if the master/slave isn't bypassing internally or leaking out, then the throw out is the wrong height compared to the fingers on the clutch, so when it moves to disengage the clutch, it isn't 100% disengaged. You can check part of this out too by jacking the car up, having the engine running, put your foot on the clutch and try to engage 1st gear. If it goes in pretty easy (Compared to the ground) and/or the wheels start turning a fair bit and it takes a bit too much brake pedal to bring them back to a stop, this is likely the issue.  I'm not sure if you can adjust the height of the forks etc in these though, it's been that long since I've touched any RB gearbox.
