gotta love a bit of tech house

did you get some turntables as well as the mixer Craig?

I'm going to do a digital haul on Stompy.com this week. Gonna buy some of the latest deep house that hasn't been mass produced and is a little hard to find on vinyl

yeah mate. Got some stanton tt's coming this thursday.

CDjs coming this week depending on the cash flow.

This dude on ITM is selling a huge collection of vinyl. Hes got it all on excel . most for $6. Im getting a bunch of him. Nice guy too. have a look.

Got plenty of dubstep coming from the UK also.

Mainly gonna concentrate on tech house, prog. plus dubstep.

whats a good program to make your own mixtape? nothing fancy, just to mix songs into eachother as they finish/start.

burning via Nero will allow you to have no time gaps between tracks.....also another good thing is a middy mixer they pretty much give you a lot of control...mix and mash your own way....or you can just get some DJ's mixes like i do :)

If you just want to make a basic mix with some house tracks or something Damo, you can try NI Traktor DJ studio, basically two virtual decks with pitch, a cross fader, EQs, and some basic effects. You can record a whole mix set and it will write it for you as a wav file. Pretty cool to stuff around with.

Once you have the written wav file from Traktor, use Nero to burn it to CD - use the Nero Wav editor (like the guys have said above) to cut it up in desired spots, tick 'no pause between tracks' when you go to burn to CD. Ive been using Nero wav editor like this for ages when cutting up DJ sets and burning em to CD

Here is something from a very good mate of mine DJ - 2J

Yeah i have dabbled with Traktor before, pretty easy to use, but i think it didnt let me record unless i purchased the full version? Nothing a torrent search cant fix :)

have a 'full' version of Pro DJ. Its pretty good. You can mix. add samples. basically like a real mixer. Minus the great effects etc.

You can also record direct to your harddrive in mp3 format or whatever your after.

Can send it to you. Might be on demonoid too

virtual dj mate.

there are a couple diff versions, but I guess they all do the same.

Remember Its a live mixing console tho. So youll have to sit there and actually mix the songs live and record.

Did you find it ? or you want me to dig it up for ya ?

there prolly is. Not too sure mate. Havent played with many comp DJ progs.

you should grab virtual tho. Youll prolly have some fun

Plus you can cut songs short if they get boring and blend in your next track. Live decks on the screen so you know what your doing. And a sorta simple beats per minute display.

what style of music you gonna record ? If its a dance beat. doof beat youll find it easy to blend.

    • Thanks for the linkie. Certainly always a great deal of help when people post comparisons like these, but I think for now I'll stay away from any semi slicks. I did go ahead and order the sportcontact 7. My buddy has them on his modified A4 and he keeps saying how good they are. For my intended purposes these will probably work real well. I'll report on them once I had the chance to try them out
    • Talk about noisy. Even when I still had the Tomei under the car I could distinctly hear the tires rolling. And I doubt I ever will need maximum grip like on a track. My GTR will maybe never even see the 600hp mark and I need to get used to the car quite a bit before challenging the limits of its handling. For the next winter storage I think I will get a set of these rubber drive-on thingies that have a tire shaped base. Those supposedly really help prevent flat spots.
    • Well our climate is definitely way less hot overall and the weather can be quite picky at times. I just know that during normal road use or even spirited drives there is no way I'd be able to consistently stay in the operating temperature, and constantly changing the tire pressure would also be a royal pain.
    • Input shaft bearing. They all do it. There is always rollover noise in Nissan boxes - particularly the big box. Don't worry about it unless it gets really growly.
    • For once a good news  It needed to be adjusted by that one nut and it is ok  At least something was easy But thank you very much for help. But a small issue is now(gearbox) that when the car is stationary you can hear "clinking" from gearbox so some of the bearing is 100% not that happy... It goes away once you push clutch so it is 100% gearbox. Just if you know...what that bearing could be? It sounding like "spun bearing" but it is louder.
