Hey all, i only recently joined Skylines Australia, but have been a long time fan of the Skyline

I was and still am a member of silviansw, even tho i live in QLD :P but it taught me alot and started inspiring me to learn more and more about all good imports and their mechanics and specifications.

After nearly buying a 92' 180sx for $14,000, i thought ide never find the car i was looking for.. so i kept saving.. untill my budget increased to just over $19,000 max.

Did insanely hard - insane pay work for a few months, mainly landscaping to get my funds up. Once i had enough i relised im totally out of the 'entry level' sports car range and have moved onto the more serious performance cars :(

I automatically had a prefrence.. R33 Skyline, turbo ofcourse ;)

R32 have the straight to the point 'im a gun' racing shape, but logic is that the older the car, and especially i turbo skyline, the more things can and will go wrong. Not to mention once this new 15year import law thingy comes in the R32 range will substancially loose value and easier to obtain :P

R34- Too Expensive.

R33- :( Just what i wanted and just what i got.

On saturday i bought 1994 R33 GTS-T for $19,000

Her features: ;)

-High Flowed turbo

-3" turbo back Jasman/Jasmine exhaust

-Auto Meter boost guage

-Programmable Turbo Timer

-Tein Coil over type NR, Super street damper, Gas filled

-18" Nismo Mags :(

-Rare-ish drift spec rear spoiler

-Turbosmart boost controller.. bleed valve

-Full 400R body kit

-Sony Xplod head unit top of the range

-Nankang (dont know spelling) low profile semi-slicks

-Interior virtually perfect, except for steering wheel etc

-Personalised plates.. this i love... NVY33 !!!! :(

-Original and i mean ORIGINAL R33 GTR Mats.. all round.

-Viper complete alarm system :(

Thats bout all i can think about rite now, and there is more, but it was very well priced, car easily worth mid 20s, thanks to G. for letting this baby go to me, couldnt have got better anywhere else.

Is on 99,500km now, got her on saturday.

So FULL 100,000 service is coming up in the next few days, I live in Brisbane, Carindale basically. Can anyone help me out as to where they had their 100thou service done in brisbane, how it went and how much. (Including Timing belt in this service)

Thanks ppl, look forward to joining cruises and getting in their for some input into the forums

cheers!

(I just took it to an above ground lit carpark 2nite after cleaning it to take some photos, most are too big tho so will put in upload folder)

Japanese on the side is 'Hayabusa' fastest production moterbike in the world i think it is, guy loved em, not hard to see why :P

I really need to get this carpark shots up, it shows the true beauty of this baby. There is no skyline anywhere around my that looks anywhere near this. Millions with GTR wing and kit, or stock, this has a distinct look.

So no one knows what that cord under the seat is ?

Yeah ill probably be taking her to Gavin, can someone give me number and address details/website?

And also did you stay and watch while they did the 100thou service, because ide like to, just to make sure they do all the little things.. that can turn into big things if not done.

Out of the 30 shots i took, this is the only one so far that ive resized and is small enough in KB to be uploaded (SA needs a 300kb max upload)

I havent had a 100k service done... he put a new engine in my car (only took him a day) but i didnt stay and watch. Im sure they get people asking all the time - and probably wouldnt mind tooo much as long as u keep out of the way... remember tho, they are running a business, and it might not always be safe / practical to have someone looking over their shoulder.

Sweet ride dude, the wiring under your seat is for a seatbelt warning light system that is redundant when modified during compliance, just tuck it up out of the way. And those rims are yummy, so no gutter dorifto for you!

    • I certainly fall into the annoyed camp, but glad to hear that if it's happening at low boost then I'm not likely going to blow a turbo and end up with metal shards in my oil. Just feels like it prevents me from really driving it without hesitation and "peak" performance. Wonder if it's the VCAM, it did an impressive job of shifting the torque curve and faster spool, but maybe now it's "too fast" and there's too much air for how open the throttle is.  Based on some other threads, will also do some reading on synchronizing the actuators. They are the default actuators that come on the Garrett's and I would think they would be set the same coming from the factory, but if the turbos don't actually work exactly the same way at the same time as previously mentioned, it would be worth making sure the actuators are actuating together properly
    • I went down this rabbit hole before, ended up sourcing a motor from the UK (I'm in Japan) which also didn't function correctly. With the original motor, I disassembled it and reassembled it and it works somewhat, sometimes. What I could deduce from all my screwing around is that there is calibration of the gears on the inside of the motor and two ramps on the main gear which activate switches that operate the motor and move the sunroof either to retract into the roof or tilt. Where I got stuck was that, it seemed in my case that one or both of the switches that are activated by the ramp on the gear did not always activate and thus the motor did not move, causing it to sometimes not retract or tilt (apologies, I've forgotten which way it didn't work.).  Of course this part is discontinued at Nissan now, it's the same part in the S15 but no other models. I also contacted the manufacturer of the component for schematics - forgot the name, they're based in Gifu - but they declined to share the information due to being bound by an NDA, sadly. Looking through my pictures now, it seems I last had a crack at this in 2022. See, I so kindly wrote "open" and "close" next to the switches. If you figure it out, please do tell me. Those little switches, with the red buttons may need to be replaced.
    • It says 300ZX, does that make it an Aus delivered car? Funny how back in the day I just couldn't care less about Z32's and these days I am just in love with them. Back when Nissan was into pushing the envelope. 🤣
    • Hi guys, just after some guidance with an R34 sunroof that has stopped working correctly. It still opens and closes perfectly fine, but it no longer tilts/vents up or down. As a result, the rear of the glass now sags a bit as it drops down slightly in order to retract into the roof, but now it can't pop upwards into a flush position. I’ve probed the pins on the back of the switch connector with a multimeter and it seems like both switches (for open/close and tilt/vent) still work correctly. Any ideas on what it could be, or where I should even start in terms of diagnosing? I'm sure someone's had this issue before but I haven't been able to find anything online relating to this specific issue, most of the issues are with the seals leaking or the motor failing entirely. Thanks in advance!
