Congratulation nightcrawler!!!

Damn I had high 13 and lots of embarassing moments ;)

It was fun though. It was very nice to meet up with most of you guys. I hope you guys all made home safely.

A few sympathy to some of the others....(I am sure they know who they are) and my diff. I need an upgrade anyway :D

The event was a complete success today...would you guys agree?

:):D:) my best was a 12.74 @ 109mph Matty, with your 540's on the back ;)

With my normal street tyres on my best was 12.97 @ 109mph

Damn those 540's are sticky!

I did 11 runs all up, I think it was 7 with my normal tyres and 4 with the 540s (didn't dring my slips in from the car and am too lazy/buggered to go get them) then they closed the night down at 10pm. Unfortunately I was just getting the hang of the 540s when we had to stop :D In fact my last run I did a 1.82 second 60' time, which was by far the best of the night on the poorly-prepared track. On my best run of 12.74 I did a 1.94 60' time, so it goes to show there is plenty left in the beast yet! Also very interesting was the fact that early in the night I did some runs on my normal tyres, where I had ordinary starts with lots of wheel spin, often missing 2nd gear (as usual - my gearbox hates me) yet I was doing 110mph terminal speed with shocking starts.

Anyways, when my boost controller situation is sorted and maybe the addition of a Z32 afm, I hope to put 12.5s to bed at a future meet, then I will be happy!

It was great to see a lot of you guys out there! Fyi members that attended were: me, chops, Diggity, Boostd, 9krpm, Busky2K, Cheeky, Her200SX, Maxx, 32godzilla and heaps of other lads (and gals) from ClubPSI and ns.com including SpecS15, S13_Han, Flygirl, and tons of others. It was a great night of racing!!

I wish - not really on the street though - cos they have that 4 wheel drive grip that S15 aren't renowned for :D

Mind you, if Pawley was game, I'd line him up on the street to see it in practise ;) hint hint

My mods:

Bought car 114rwkw

Phase 1: Trust Power Extreme II cat-back zorst, s&B pod intake with custom heat shield, free boost upgrade, various electronic gizmos and guages, doof ddof system etc. 158rwkw

Blew my clutch 1st drag meet I went to at AIR, replaced with Exedy organic single plate heavy duty clutch.

Phase 2: Flying Performance front/dump pipe, Catco high flow 3" cat. 177rwkw

Phase 3: Unichip piggy-back ECU, HKS 555cc injectors, Bosch 040 fuel pump, Hybrid front mount intercooler, turbo boost bleed valve set to 14psi. 185rwkw but with massive torque and mid-range gains.

Phase 4: upped boost to 15psi 195rwkw

I also have a Greddy ProfecB ebc currently being replaced (was faulty), and am trying to source a Z32 afm to replace the choking stock afm. Then I will be a bit over 200rwkw, and hope to crack a 12.5 second 1/4 mile, then I'm done modifying. (Well that's the plan anyhow).

Your S2000 goes very hard - it's a pity you can't get traction! There's always next time.

Congratulation! 12.74 is GREAT!

bad i miss it as leave at 9:15 coz too tired (too many assignment recently, didn't have enough sleep)

only saw yr 13.01 pass after a bit of warm up.

how boostd's run? his car goes REALLY hard!

Beat a GTR?? Andrew left me behind in our only line up.... :D

Oh well, I'll get you next time Nightcrawler!!

Best 60 foot time - 1.771sec

Best MPH 111.49

Still sitting on 12.5's.... anyone got a Power FC for sale?

Doh - I was there too!! :D LOL

Andrew, just wait until the os-giken fairy has paid a visit to my garage tomorrow night.

My every intention to run last night was put to rest after delayed delivery of the twin plate, and work commitments keeping me in the CBD until 10pm.

Was a great night.

Best things about Nightcrawlers runs was his consitency...

First, he was consistently spinning the wheels

Next, he was consistently missing second gear :D

But I'm sure he would be happy that he could match his old times even while ****ing up a gearshift!!!

(I'm just ****ing with you Lee!)

That 12.74 was a great run mate, with a bit more left like you say if you hooked it up just a little better. We were pretty happy with the 12.87 you did before that, and stoked to see it improve!

9krpm, as you say, you wanted to run, but not wanting to kill your car is more important, so you know there is more there.

32godzilla, your mid 12s were also consitent, and you can't be too unhappy about that.

Good to meet a few of you guys, and was a great night all round.

Can't complain about the number of runs for the money either, Nightcrawler could have probably fit another 2 runs in if he didn't have a couple of breaks.

Incidentally, I THINK the only LS1 that ran quicker than Nightcrawler was the blown Monaro, and you'd hope a blown V8 would beat a 4 cylinder!

Look forward to many more of these.

So guys when are you guys returning to this event?

Give me sometimes to upgrade my diff and coils OK.

I'll try to get in the 12sec zone. It might be too hot by then though...hmmmmm.....may need some slicks then.

Thanks chop....the standard diff in my car is so weak...7 runs and I can hear grinding noise aldready. I expected that anyway. Lucky I got the 4.44 crownwheel-pinion aldready.

Do you guys know/recommend anyone reliable for the job?

What was the fastest time last night

Maxx: Gave up after three runs. could't get of the mark and tale out at 3/4 track was a bit of a worry. Constantly ran 114-115mph which hopefully should gain a respectable time when I have sorted the suspension.

Nightcrawler: Congrats, Kickin myself for leaving early now. Was good to see your launches coming together toward the end of the night.

Thanks everyone :D It's nice to finally be in GTR territory!

Also interesting to note: at the last street meet Henry (Brute) was running 12.7s and this meet he could only do low 13s, cos the track was so slippery. I wonder if the track was prepared better if I could have run a bit faster. There's always next time.

Not sure about a few, but maybe a couple!

Was hoping to see more runs from you BOOSTD, but like you say, snakeys at 100 mph isn't real fun!

No probs 9krpm, the man who does high 13s and drives his car home is a happier one than the man who does better times and has to call a towtruck!

But yes, as you say Nightcrawler, I expected a bit better times from some LS1s considering their previous times, and we could easily see traction was a problem for all - that 10 second RX3 was only doing 12s!

MMmm.. sounds like an interesting run. I would like to see it. What have you done to yours anyway?

GTR's run standard about a 12.9-13.1 anyway.. so you might be giving him a good run!

lucky pawley's isn't standard hey! then again, with his clutch's efforts lately i might be able to beat him in my pulsar lol

me runs and hides from pawley

    • What 1.5 way? There's no such thing really as a 1.5 way, just different ways of explaining 2 ways with different ramp rates. HOWEVER. In any driving in a straight line your 1.5 or 2 or 1.7 way should have no clunking at all. With the clutch fully depressed the diff should be silent (unless it's welded but I'm assuming it's not). Something aint right here.
    • Clutch is a spec brand, new clutch system,( PP, flywheel, friction disc, etc. pull type) installed 100 miles ago, with no problems.
    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?
