That guy is dodgy, read the questions to the seller at the bottom of the ad.

As soon as someone asked the key question about weather it was an insurance write off or statutory write off he goes all difficult and avoids the question.

That was the first thing I noticed too, he went straight on the defensive.

I hope someone doesn't buy this expecting to get it up and going and registered with out $3500 worth of repairs, I think there is going to be more around the $6000 - $8000 and that's if it can be re-registered.

I reckon it was the smartest question of the lot. . . . . If the owner had the correct papers he would be boasting it everywhere . . .

I reckon he bought it hoping to repair it but made a crucial mistake and is left with an expensive wreck.

Imagine the questions he did not answer or post on the ad . . . .

Anyone got a user account on this & care to see what happens?

FWIW the compliance is legit;

;)

hmmm i asked if it was a stat write off and he said its 'NOT' in capitals. so im asking for paperwork. insurance has had someting to do with it as it doesnt have rego. im 100% sure this car came from edward lees in june last year and i drove it ;)

anyway, he said GMS spares has an M35, so ive asked if they are seperating it (ECU + bits for me)

the auction finishes in 2 days dude ;)

or are you talking about the one at GMS spares?

I figure he wont sell it myself. if its still there on thurs I'll look at it friday.

he seems to think every car thats ever had an accident and claimed under insurance is classified as a repairable write-off. wtf??

if its anything like up here then it probably true. repairable writeoffs can be total losses and still be listed that way.

easy way to solve this is to ring the RTA in the morn with the chassis number.

radio will be a waste anyway - its JDM and old.

yeah i owned a total loss but it was repairable. so i repaired it lol

but not EVERYTHING as he seems to think. anyway i didnt get a reply to my asking if i can see it today. so im guessing thats a no. probably sus anyway, seems that the finance company still has an interest in it. anyone who buys it i HOPE they do a revs check........

first thing he says is its for sale on behalf of a friend.at the end of the page that he just added it says quote *

now another point is when I originally purchased the car I purchased it under finance., when I purchased it the finance required me to have insurance, now that the insurance has paid me and the finance company out so it should of all been cleared. however for some strange reason its still listed on revs with finance owing, so I will call the finance company prior to auction ending and make sure that they clear it off there systems.

I hope this clears up many questions.

im afraid it all sound way too dodgy to me

    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
    • So, now all you need to do is connect the 2 or 3x 12v feeds into the unit to permanent 12v, ACC 12V and IGN 12V that you can find in the spot behind the stereo, and the earth, and then it will switch on with the car.
