hey i got my m35 now on the road and i don't know what the problem is.

car did about 380km to a bit over half a tank an now after refillling i'v used roughly the same amount of fuel and have about a 120km less on the dial. the only thing done to the car was a oil change and stuff like that so i don't know what the problem is. also i have been taking it relatively easy to get som good milage to. has anyone had similar problems? its a 2001 rs v four m35 with 60k on the clock. cheers liam

Taking it easy does not seem to make much difference. I get around 500k out of a tank - town or trip.

They run rich and need aftermarket tuning to get the best economy and performance.

I'm waiting on a tuner to give the final go ahead to do mine.

so wat youre saying is an emanage ultimate or something? theres no way a vac line has come loose is there(altho power seems to be good)? waht about changing spark plugs will that help much?

plugs will probably help, and depending on how many miles are on your car, they might be due for a change anyway.....

as for ultimate emanage, two of us own them now for their M35s, neither of us have performed the necessary installations :( but mines in the pipeline!

i though there was a guy on here who had done it? he did exhaust emanage and maybe a cooler(or it wasn't necessary) and got roughly 200awkw. how muh is the emanage and install and tune? 500-600 for tune? and are they vehicle specific? i've a 180 i'm to be building for the track so money doesn't flow to freely.

nah they arent vehicle specific. but you can get looms that have all the wiring done so you can just plug it in! however, for an M35 AFAIK they dont exist

ok so maybe there is someone else that has one too?

my bad that was a s2 34 stag if anyone with a 35 and ecu has one let us know how its goin.

No VQ25DET harness for eManage Ultimate unfortunately.

I know that there was a guy in NSW that had the Haltech 350z Platinum used as a piggyback ($$$ouch$$$) on his M35 and got around the 200awkw figure.

The eManage is basically a universal piggyback, as long as you know what you are doing when installing it.

I believe that Jetwreck is going for the Haltech interceptor for his piggyback.

As far as I know, the only ECU that has a plug in for VQ25DET atm is the HKS F-CON V which is great if you live in Japan.

Unfortunately I am not aware of many people in Aus that can tune the F-CON, let alone well.

Tom @ Bd4's in Sydney.

Someone @ gt Auto in brisbane

well i hope they are both good at tuning :) since i will be using one of them for my gtr

Its a bit of a crazy web

but http://www.j-sp.biz/g.swf for some japanese guy's m35 modified

yea so i'm guessing trent at status would definetly know wat he is doing so i might invest in the emanage ultimate and see how i go. but i need a full exhauset first of all any one else want to order some magnaflow gere in bulk? i'm gonna go to my exhaust guy ask him wat he wants to put in then order the setup from the us for my stag and my 180 trak beast

    • What 1.5 way? There's no such thing really as a 1.5 way, just different ways of explaining 2 ways with different ramp rates. HOWEVER. In any driving in a straight line your 1.5 or 2 or 1.7 way should have no clunking at all. With the clutch fully depressed the diff should be silent (unless it's welded but I'm assuming it's not). Something aint right here.
    • Clutch is a spec brand, new clutch system,( PP, flywheel, friction disc, etc. pull type) installed 100 miles ago, with no problems.
    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?
