oh wait i forgot, did you wanna buy one locally?...or import it?...if your importing i suggest you look at the local market first.

i have already searched from carsale, but most of cars there are from one owner, i have seen the cars myself, they are located in a garage near capertown, i am not sure if they sell the car legally... i wanna buy a local one ,by the way, how can we import one. thanks for replying.

Hi Tom.

You do need do some home work for the market, The one you mentioned is a car dealer, of course it is legal for him to sale it.

start there.

camperdown - that would be a veitnamese family.

oh yes that's camperdown, can i buy cars from there, are they reliable? has anyone bought a car there? i found lots of jap cars there, evo8, gtr, skyline...

dont look at dealers yet....next time ur on carsales try a private sale.......but if your importing, yeh you need to do lots of homework....there are basically 3 options:

-Buy locally,

-Import using an import dealer

-Fully independent import(buying and all paperwork yourself only compliance done thru dealer), which is what i did, but i don't recommend you doing that unless your cheap like me :ermm:

thanks man, i have tried private one, but not until i was there i found that they are actually dealers, and also i found most of cars between 25k and 30k are from the dealer which i mentioned above in camperdown, because they all use the same phone. by the way, why not buy cars from dealers, just because they are expensive?

are there many of these dealers/warehouses at camperdown? or possibly could someone who knows pm some info about them ie. what they're like to deal with, reputation etc. I got a feeling I know who it is and I'm interested as I'm after a V35 but had no dealings with them, except over the phone and was given an explanation for why they have numerous ads/sellers, which sounded fair and reasonable.

If it is the same one that I'm thinking of, then please be careful. On another forum i frequent (evolutionoz) there is a massive thread warning about them.

They go by various names.. eddie, jimmy, kevin, cong, the list goes on. They advertise as if they are a private seller "going overseas", "having a baby", but its all crap.

Some people have bought terrible cars from them.

one example from supra forums:

Price: $24k

Raj was posting up on behalf of Eddie, then go found out by a importer.

QUOTE (Japp Imports)Raj,

I have no idea how your getting this Supra through compliance???

The car is a WRITE OFF... It's literally had EVERY PANEL REPLACED!!! (XX denote's a panel that has been replaced).

The only original panel on the car is the driver's side door.

Just a general warning to all as i believe this isn't the first Supra you have posted on here which has had a prior heavy structural repair history.

People wonder why and how you're offering such good deals. You may say "Pretty much too good to be true". Now they can see that a Supra can look beautiful from the outside... but little do they know the actual condition of the car beneath the paint!

Someone could be seriously injured in a vehicle of this calibre mate and guess who will be held accountable? YOU!!!

I've also noticed the km's have been altered by 30,000km's! This car was showing 84,300 on the auction sheet...

I will leave it at that.

I also had the auction sheet translated.

one example from supra forums:

ohh damn I remember that thread over on supraforums, and yes the same familar street background. I tried looking for the thread over on SF but couldn't find it to check the street shots, thanks for the heads up, I guess the search for a manual continues.

Yes- Ive looked at a few V35's when I was buying and they were all very rough.

Then I looked at all the cars in there- and most of them were the same. They use many similar names on carsales- but the shots of the cars are at the same place.

I think they are a legit business- but they dont really pay much attention or they dont want to spend the extra money to get a good graded car. They go with cheap, and with cheap comes crap. IF you know how to look at paint work/panels damage etc.

Ill sell you my car Tom!!

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
