Ashneel - Those photos are great. Your camera actually makes it look like we had cleaned our cars.

Hamish - Apparently my car is not meant to shoot flames out the back says the mechanic. But it happens on FNTF.....

never actually saw your flames Bart, but when we'd come around a corner and there was grey-ish exhaust, your car was not to far infront!

there was a point where bart got up it and the smoke cloud was MASSIVE!

nam and i were just driving along and then there was this huge cloud of smoke and the car in front of us literally dissapeared!

Awesome pics -- was a great day indeed. Besides a 180sx driving in to me. Other than that, perfect! The weather was great, the roads were great and I even got to see the snow :)

My car needs a little bit more work, fuel and engine management wise, fixing the 4WD system and replacing my worn suspension bits and it'll be great. The list of things to do can go on forever with these cars though.

Does anyone have specs of Bart's GTR? That thing looks MEAN.

Good to see the blue beast back and looking mint mate :)

Well i can confirm Bart's NINJA trick... He loaded up and dumped that massive cloud on me lol. We were trying to get it on video but the SD was full and missed it which sucked. Also if you ever sell that GTR i call first dibs. it's sex.

we had on that cruise.

well i just got a quote back from a guy at Mira Finish in dandenong and it is $1936.22.

man im so glad i have insurance

the other thing is that its not even for a new rear bumper? apparently they send it away to be fixed re moulded or something??

i would love to know how much damaged is on your car Curtis cause you copped the brunt of it all

post up and let us know when yours is quoted k

lolfag 180sx dude. luckily he had 3rd party or this ordeal could have been much worse. next time some random joins an official SAU cruise we'll just stop and let them pass or give em the old "GTFO".

W T F....where did u get that quote from italiazr1?? I swear from the naked eye is was just a broken globe and a scratch or two....$1900+ is heaps man...i guess they changing the whole rear bar, reo and all the lights, painting and blending the pain in with the guards and boot?

Wow...the 180 is so damn lucky he has 3rd party insurance ey....

well hope you and omega get your cars fixed and fixed perfect. Keep us all updated on how you guys go with it.

cheers

yeah i know Curtis's car (the other r32 gtr) is easily more than double mine..

front damage would cost heaps on the gtr i know cause i changed my front end to the gtr look not long ago

as for the 180 havent heard from him all i know is that we are all just car insurance customers

so i suppose they are the real looser's in all this.

ill keep you guys informed

Yeah i think i just covered most of that loss only a few weeks ago buying MY gtr

3k...ffs...3k in excesses on top of that

i hate being young :P

    • Wife wanted basket things in the wardrobe in our temporary house. Thought about ripping our the wardrobe and fitting the entire IKEA set, but it's a temporary house and we want to move in a few years. So IKEA advertises this as a 50cm unit, however the actually basket and rails measure 46cm wide. Only issue was depth, IKEA stuff is quite deep, where as the builder special junk is super shallow at less than 40cm. Send it, chopped the rails, then offset the mounting holes, job done, happy wife, less shit scattered all over the bedroom. Did the same to the other side too. Also drove the Skyline shit box today, dropped off oil at Supercheap Auto. I didn't realise they only now take max 2x bottles per visit. I visited 2x Supercheap Autos.
    • I've seen similar actually in my situation. You never know what tables are attempted to be used when the car thinks it's -99C or +200C. The fail state is not usually that extreme but you know what I mean - it was in my case though! This is where being able to read all the sensors is useful cause you see this stuff really quickly.
    • The above is very important. However as long as you keep timing relatively low, it's plausible to make your own knock ears and plausible to learn to tune with a modern ECU that can do wideband O2 correction like a boost controller. I mean if you only have one viable road to even drive the car on, learning to tinker to this level may be worth doing given you can't do much else with the car...?
    • I find the fact that the rear plate has to be bent inwards at the rear not so bad: but the front is just awful: It's like come on. (these are my very old, now retired/turned in plates) TBH it is a lot of money to fix a minor issue, the fact I said "I'll never really spend the money on doing this" is why people ended up buying them as a gift for a 'car guy' who can be hard to shop for.. for car guy things.
    • I just bent the ends of my premo plates. It even went through Regency like that after the engine conversion and the inspector (a great bloke!) just squinted his eyes and said "I didn't see that". Plates, and how they look, are just something that have zero importance to me.
