They are virtually identical in power/graphics.

Do some research as you will find most answers you get with questions like these are not based on evidence. Of course someone who owns only one system will state the system they have is the only choice. Just like the above poster.

The ps3 i think has a faster processor

The 360 has a better graphics processor

The majority of games on both the 360 and ps3 look and play better on the 360.

I have both systems and when i have the option to by a game for either system i always go for the 360. The controller suits me better and it plays and looks better. However for fighting games where you use the dpad i would choose the ps3 as i dont like the dpad on the 360.

Well I would say PS3 for the pure fact that they reigon free. You can buy a game from overseas and be about $20-$30 cheaper (inc. delivery) where as the Xbox360 is region locked so you can't get some games (MLB 2K9 I really want on X360 but it's not coming out to Australia and it's reigoned locked to the US)

The Graphics on both systems are marginlly the same - some has better qualities than the other.

I have ps3/360/wii. Obviously the wii is only party games and stuff so I dont really bother with that for console games.

When I go to buy a game that's on both consoles, I consider who I am going to play the online stuff with, so depending on what style of game and what console those friends have. I dont really consider the graphics etc, as previously said, it's not that different over both consoles.

if there is heaps of online stuff I tend to go for the 360 cos I think xbox live is a fair bit better than the the online psn network.

:P

Technically, two - PS3 and PC.

I had an Xbox 360 but didnt find it worthwhile keeping - only thing that kept me playing it was Forza 2, everything else I could play on the PS3 or the PC. I also had a Wii for a short period of time because my girlfriend wanted it, eventually sold it as it didnt offer much games that interest me and she only wanted it to play Mario Kart Wii.

Best mate has both PS3 and 360, tbh I'm glad he bought both because I like playing the exclusive games like Resistance. I wouldn't buy one myself though. BTW Activision is looking at withdrawing support for PS3 as of next year.

I reckon they're bluffing, although their sales on the PS3 are fairly poor - but then again, the only descent game they have is COD... which will be better on PC than any console anyway.

Guitar Queero is (for now) still selling truckloads of copies, plus the upcoming dj hero and tony hawks games among others.

After playing the PS3 and 360 a fair bit, I can't see anything about the PS3 that makes it better - when you put a new game in it decides to take 10 minutes dumping random files on the hard disk, the games are still in standard definition, there are no rumble packs in the controllers (not to mention siaxxis was a complete flop), and the controllers aren't as nice feeling as the 360.

Dunno about you, but I know 2 people who have a PS3 - everyone else has 360's!

The multiplayer on Xbox live also canes anything PS has to offer.

The main problem with the 360 is the propensity for the 3 red rings of death due to the shitty cooling system, but if you're the first purchaser and have resisted the urge to open it up for whatever reason, you can get it repaired free of charge.

PS3 runs 7 nvidia 512 cards and the xbox runs 5 512 ATI cards.

PS controller is tryed and proven and in my opinion the best controller shape and feel you can get, i never really liked the xpox controllers.

most if not all xbox games are on PC anyways (got one of those)

6 axiss is great for the right games, and all the new PS3 boxes come with dual shock controllers (ive still got the old non shock, battery lasts longer that way)

most peeps buy the xbox cause its cheaper, and for the online support, which is fair enough, but PSN is free unlike Xbox live.

and the MAIN reason behind buying a PS3 for me (other than the fact it was a Bday present from the missus) is the GT games, and killzone 2, greatest games ever

dude resistance 2 is like Gears of War for PS3, I've played a fair bit of it, and it was dissapoint.

I've only played the one game with Siaxxis, The Godfather, and it was more annoying than useful.

Most gamers I know would spend as much as it cost to get the premium gaming console, I was initially a fan of the PS3, but after seeing how good the Xbox games looked on a high definition TV, I was sold on it. You would also think that with something like 25GB a disc that there would be more content in the games as well.

Beer Baron, I don't know where you got your PS3 from, but all those I've played have come out with non rumble controllers?

yeah my launch came with non rumble controller but they have been available to buy for ages now, and for the last year or so they ship with them too. I have 2 rumble ones and one original non rumble one from launch.

They are exactly the same. You wont even notice a difference graphics wise. Games amde for ps3 and then ported to 360 will look a fraction better and vice versa (you wont even notice the difference.) The ps3 downloads files to the HDD so it reduces load times.

What is this about xbox live being better? Because you have to pay for it you want to believe your money is being well spent? Stop being a fanboy

edit: also don't forget some sites compare the ps3 to xbox graphics using the ps3's composite cable which is NOT hd

PS3 and xbox dont look the same, theres something so slightly different about the way they look, dunno what it is, but ive never liked the xbox, or 360's picture that much.

and yes $90 -$100 for a PS3 controller is a violation, id rather not rumble for that price. btw PS2 controllers work for most games in the PS3 as long as you have a USB adaptor from USB to PS2 (awesome adaptor to have, costs 4 bucks, and then you can use the PS controller on games like TMN, GRID, Dirt, and all those other awesome PC driving games)

yeah the price of dual shock controllers here is rude. I bought some in japan about 2 years ago and they were about $45-$50 which seemed about right.

but all PS3s do ship with them standard now and have done for quite a while.

    • The question then becomes - was there any fluid coming from that hole before you did the rebuild ?    You may not have noticed, of course.   Depending on how you did the rebuild, the possibility has to be considered that somehow (cleaning ?)  fluid entered that hole and is now being 'forced'  out by small movements of the proportioning valve.   From the factory, there's actually a small rubber plug in that hole but with age and under-bonnet heat it's quite common for it to 'go missing'.  That rubber plug is designed to allow the venting process but also to prevent 'stuff' getting to the area (prevent corrosion, etc).   The plug is also not available as a spare part AFAIA. Personally I wouldn't race and buy a new master just yet but keep an eye on the area to see if the 'leak' continues.   If you're concerned about brake fluid damaging nearby paintwork, cable tie a piece of suitable absorbant material over the hole and remove/monitor occasionally.    Operation of the proportioning valve and the brake master itself won't be affected, but also keep an eye on brake fluid level, of course. In terms of a new master, the genuine part is getting expensive, unfortunately.  Amayama is showing AUD900+.   I was searching recently and there's an aftermarket part available from Japan made by 'Parts Assist': https://zenmarket.jp/en/yahoo.aspx?q=BNR32%2bBM50&p=1 Whether it's any good I have no idea, although in my experience Japanese aftermarket stuff is pretty good quality-wise.   The above site allows overseas buyers to purchase stuff more easily from Japan but there are fees and shipping costs, of course.   The original Japanese seller page is here: https://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/p1197401228 Copper/Nickel is fine but I still prefer bundy tube and it's also cheaper.
