The higher quality picture's in there are what other people took.

Well, where to start?

Needless to say I had an awesome weekend. Absolutely great bunch of guys, some VERY nice cars, and lots of fun was had.

Highlights:

- Krishy pulling the Renmark slapper within moments at the car wash.

- Guys sharing out drinks all over the place and hitting them hard.

- DOHMAR cooking up a breakfast storm in the typical "Chef Ben" fashion.

- shock of shocks Ruby rocking up at 8:30am Sat morning after leaving Adelaide at sparrow fart to drive up in a car with a busted transmission - and not only that, but he drove back to be with his family that evening after the dinner - now that is TOP NOTCH dedication to both SAU, AND his family!!!

- Great teamwork and 'can-do' attitude setting up the tent and aligning cars at the show - masterfully led by DOHMAR

- Plenty of brews, food and ice-cream all afternoon.

- An easy/quick team pack-up and we left the display site spotless.

- Plenty more laughs and brews at the dinner - damn those 9% McK's hit me hard!

- Shane picking up 2 well deserved awards (easily should have been 3 - best coupe should have ben in there too). The SLED also picking up 2 awards, and again should have been more. And we robbed the raffle results - 6 prizes all up if I remember correctly

- Plenty more to drink and lots of tomfoolery afterwards - to be honest a lot of it was a blur, but I seemed to have had fun. I do however remember Ben cooking us up bacon and egg sandwiches on the bbq at around midnight - AWESOME.

- Ben cooking up another great bbq breakfast storm in the morning - but me failing by feeling too ill to eat it.

- A nice cruise to Renmark with me feeling the most seedy I have in many, many years. I was uncharacteristically quiet, and uncrude - many people were confused :D

- Good run home with a few cars coming the Northern way back I made it back to my place in dead on 3 hours.

Thanks a ton for the great times and company guys. Sorry to Sled for keeping you up with my snoring mate - damn having a cold and not being able to breathe - the alcohol probably didn't help. Great to catch up with Shane and Christine - as Sled said, Shane's choice as el presidente of SAU is perfectly warranted and deserved. Thanks a ton Martin for the VQ35 Jap number plate - I love it. All the other lads were in top form too. Sorry to everyone for how crude I get when I drink, but hey, surely you have all come to expect this

Top effort to everyone involved, and I can't wait for the next one. I will try to sort out some pics and upload them here, but am currently uploading them to Rapidshare for Ben to distribute at Villis Friday night.

I snore like a MF so thats why I get my own room, the cheaper and stingier the better cos it motivates me to lax back in krishys bachelor pad-away-from-home epic suites...

I'd also like to affirm my support for Shane and Pete as Pres and VP respectively, they did a great job keeping us miscreants in line and both contribute many years of experience for us younger ones to take on board.

Andrews hardly crude, in actual fact hes rather a gentleman when drunk. its only pity for krishy that he has to deal with the amorous nature of the nightcrawler. Besides, nightcrawler passes out before the real dirty stuff happens

Cool I look forward to the link

Cheers

yeah pretty much all of us hit the drinks pretty damn hard and fast.....it was good to see the SAU loving in sharing the drinks around....Pete gets very emotional when he is tipsy and Andrew hows ur nipples mate ......i remember on sat night Andrew trying to kiss Abe lol poor Abe was stuck in that sofa with mr. nightrider.......

i was tempted to draw on Pete's head but he didnt really pass out at any stage lol......Shane your a legend as the Madam president ;).....the board members that were at the show from SAU:SA were awesome in their respective titles......Martin cheers for the R-33 plates mate...now to drill a hole so that i can stick it on the front bar next time....and how can we forget those Cigars mate.....top touch for a good drunk night.....

Dion was close to passing out on Friday night....and the breaky that Ben whipped up was just fcuking brilliant....good stuff for the hangover lol

Cannot wait for the next country show......for those of you that didnt come/couldnt make it....it was a weekend to remember

So your saying my car shouldn't have won? Nice, I definetly appreciate the feedback.;)

So your saying my car shouldn't have won? Nice, I definetly appreciate the feedback.:/

I'm not saying your little Colt isn't nice Ryan, but simply that Shane's 180 is a fully customised show car that has had $100k thrown at it and is needless to say one of the best cars in the country (especially considering it has been on a TV show, and had many, many magazine front covers and various magazine shoots).

You do the maths.

    • I thought that might be the case, thats what I'll start saving for. Thanks for the info
    • Ps i found the below forum and it seems to be the same scenario Im dealing with. Going to check my ECU coolant temp wire tomorrow    From NICOclub forum: s1 RB25det flooding at start up Thu Apr 11, 2013 7:23 am I am completely lost on this. Car ran perfectly fine when I parked it at the end of the year. I took the engine out and painted the engine bay, and put a fuel cell with an inline walbro 255 instead of the in tank unit I had last year. After reinstalling everything, the engine floods when the fuel pump primes. if i pull the fuel pump fuse it'll start, and as soon as I put the fuse back in it starts running ridiculously rich. I checked the tps voltage, and its fine. Cleaned the maf as it had some dust from sitting on a shelf all winter, fuel pressure is correct while running, but wont fire until there is less than 5psi in the lines. The fuel lines are run correctly. I have found a few threads with the same problem but no actual explanation of what fixed it, the threads just ended. Any help would be appreciated. Rb25det s1 walbro255 fuel pump nismo fpr holset hx35 turbo fmic 3" exhaust freddy intake manifold q45tb q45 maf   Re: s1 RB25det flooding at start up Fri Apr 12, 2013 5:07 am No, I didn't. I found the problem though. There was a break in one of the ecu coolant temp sensor wires. Once it was repaired it fired right up with no problems. I would have never thought a non working coolant temp sensor would have caused such an issue.
    • Hi sorry late reply I didnt get a chance to take any pics (my mechanics on the other side of the city) but the plugs were fouled from being too rich. I noticed the MAF wasn't genuine, so I replaced it with a genuine green label unit. I also swapped in a different ignitor, but the issue remains. I've narrowed it down a bit now: - If I unplug and reconnect the fuel lines and install fresh spark plugs, the car starts right up and runs perfectly. Took it around the block with no issues - As soon as I shut it off and try to restart, it won't start again - Fuel pressure while cranking is steady around 40 psi, injectors have good spray, return line is clear, and the FPR vacuum is working. It just seems like it's getting flooded after the first start I unplugged coolant sensors to see if its related to ECU flooding but that didnt make a difference. Im thinking its related to this because this issue only started happening after fixing coolant leaks and replacing the bottom part of the stock manifolds coolant pipe. My mechanic took off the inlet to get to get to do these repairs. My mechanics actually just an old mate who's retired now so ill be taking it to a different mechanic who i know has exp with RBs to see if they find anything. If you have any ideas please send em lll give it a try. Ive tried other things like swapping the injectors, fuel rail, different fuel pressure regs, different ignitor, spark plugs, comp test and MAF but the same issue persists.
    • My return flow is custom and puts the return behind the reo, instead of at the bottom. All my core is in the air flow, rather than losing some of it up behind the reo. I realise that the core really acts more as a spiky heatsink than as a constant rate heat exchanger, and that therefore size is important.... but mine fits everything I needed and wanted without having to cut anything, and that's worth something too. And there won't be a hot patch of core up behind the reo after every hit, releasing heat back into the intake air.
    • There is a really fun solution to this problem, buy a Haltech (or ECU of your choice) and put the MAF in the bin.  I'm assuming your going to want more power in future, so you'll need to get the ECU at some stage. I'd put the new MAF money towards the new ECU.
