as topic says. ive found my self a set of leather seats im semi keen for. just need to no if they have the wires for the electroniuc seats.

im pretty keen on doing that to mine too :) now to just find a wrecked auto with leather!

I have put these seats into 2 different 260's. Both had the seat wiring and relay (drivers side, above right foot) but both needed the fuse put in to make the seats work. Can't remember where the fuse was ie engine bay or interior fuse box, but it's pretty easy to work out. It MAY have even been labeled in English.

Im not too sure, but I would expect an accessory such as heated/electric seats to have a relay in any car.

Yes do have a relay to control the heating elements in the seats. The heating element/s turn off automatically once they get to temperature (and so that they do not use too much battery power) even if you leave them switched on the two position switch near the centre console/armrest (2 heat levels).

I leave mine on all the time in winter....Melbourne weather.

All the factory leather seats that I have seen Series 1 and Series 2 have the heated seats also including mine.

Mine is a factory 'cold region' car so has the factory leather/heated seats, heated front windshield, single fog light on rear tailgate etc.

ud have a switch for the heaters im guessing? do yours have 1 plug going into the seat? or one for the heater and 1 for the movement ofthe chair? see my other post if u wouldnt mind

ahh nope! My s1 seats are electric only

Don't you feel ripped off. Electric only?

I don't know what I would do without the heated seats on those cold Winter mornings.

So Series 1 only got leather electric seats, no heaters built in??

Yes I have a seperate heater switch for each seat (each switch has low/high off position). 2 switches mounted just behind auto shifter on vertical centre armrest console.

My snow Auto switch is also mounted there along with 2 other blanks for future switches. I have seen some Stagea also have power outlets mounted there (Prime editions?).

I will reply in other post about plugs.

so i put my seats in today... looks really good :iluvff:

but the only drama is my seat wiring isnt working.... i spoke to the previous owner who said the motors worked b4 hand.

ive tryed swapping the power seat/sunroof fuse (weird that an autech would have 1 in that spot :S) i put one in the sunroof spot (maybe they work together... no luck. i then checked all the fuses in the car and they were fine, and then i put a 20 amp fuse in each spot that was empty in the car and still no love!

am i running a constant power threw to them!? lol....

Hey Chef,

I'd recommend putting an inline fuse if your running to direct power, just to be safe.

Im running 10amp fuses for each the electric seats and from memory a 5amp for each for the heating element.

Connecting the multimeter i was quite surprised the heating element only had around 2amp power draw and produced so much heat. The electric seat part pull about 8amps.

I see rs4stagman mentioned the high/low/off on the standard switch, personally im glad of this as i've got a console on the way with these switches.

Currently mine are simply switched on or off and i get full heat which is a little hot for my rear end. They do the auto switch off/on thing to regulate the heat about every 5mins, this must be built into the heating element in the seat.

    • I wasn’t able to replicate the sound anymore. It was a one time sound so maybe it was just coincidence but it was like small pebbles being dropped in a coke can.   should I try cleaning the MAF? It could be it’s functioning but dirty? I don’t know.
    • Update 4: Hi all. The car drives again! Haven't driven for long, only to store it in the garage again, but the test drive was successful. The coolant and oil leaks seem to be fixed for now. Temps on the engine were also very good, while moving I never even saw 80C water during the approx. 30 minute drive. Ate up all the coolant in the reservoir though so will have to fill that even more when I go to the car next time. One thing that pisses me off is that the RPM gauge is still f**ked, I even resoldered the board twice and used copper paste on the silly screws that are used as connections. Next time I take it out I'll take apart the board and fit new components, I'll see if I can get a replacement IC for it.  I have an appointment set for 22nd of September for the engine tune to 370hp. Alignment also still needs to be done. My hope is that I can get all the legal stuff over with by the end of this season. Anyone of you have advice regarding intercoolers? Currently there is an APEXI core fitted, one of those weird hybrid ones, 600x270x76. I don't think it's bad but it's not new and now I still have the chance to change it now to legally include it in the paperwork. Only issue is that the only options that would arrive in time are a HKS Type R intercooler or generic Ebay spec intercoolers comparable to a JustJap one. Ideally I'd order a Plazmaman but it takes over a month to receive which would mean making the car legal has to wait until next season. Would love to hear some input on this. Same story for my injectors, the previous owner was a nunce and put ID 1050x on the engine. They work but are obviously not ideal at "normal" power levels. But I don't see a reason to change them unless the tuner says it's necessary. I read online before buying a different exhaust that the top secret style rear diffusers won't fit due to the size of the rear resonators. My buddy and I made it work by slightly "adjusting the shape" of the mounting bracket and making some spacers out of 3d print for the mounting bolts. Fits like a charm. Just putting this here in case someone has this problem. Even the hefty HKS Silent Hi Power rear can fits without hitting anything.
    • Well they got my money but they are not getting my gearbox !
    • It's needed for rolling idle up, and I think it is a decider on VCT also.
    • I mean, not really. Link ECU's can absolutely still have errors from the ECU thinking it's getting a sensor it's not expecting. I would imagine the speed at the ECU level in Nistune does absolutely nothing anyway? I assume the ECU does not do any fancy TC stuff with regards to front+rear wheel speed or anything of that like anyway. Someone who uses Nistune may be more fluent in it.
