Hey Guys,

some idiot tried to steal my car the other day.

screw drivered the passenger side door lock, but couldn't get it opened,

he then tried to enter the car by breaking the rear 1/4 window :D

so now that my lock is stuffed, does anyone know if the rear door handles from a S2 Sedan would fit my S2 Coupe?

there's no key holes in them, so i'm wondering if that would work to stop idiots screw driving my door locks . .

and also, the rear 1/4 glass - anyone replaced one?

do i need a special glue or is it a unscrew the glass & bracket, reinstall and done?

any help appreciated, thanks guys

I did this in my Integra Type R. Looks amazing with no locks and was a straight swap.

Have been meaning to do it to my 33 too.. but just havnt got around to it. Itl be a case of... doing it when its too late already.

From memory i think the rear handles are the same shape as the fronts.

Just Found this,

Its a HUGE picture, so if you zoom in you can clearly see the handles are the exact same shape. So in theory they would bolt up.

Go to a wrecker and ask them to grab one of each and compare the mounting points and where the rods attatch. Better than pulling it apart and finding out the hard way :D

Kudos to whoever owns this.. dam fine looking 4door!

I was just about to say.. had the battery die in my old VN with no door locks and my girlfriend's Datsun 1200, and both times I've ended up having to crawl underneath the car with jumper leads and nearly electrocute myself to put them on to give it enough juice to unlock.

I'd love to put in sirens loud enough to nauseate and deafen would be offenders, but I have a club lock on teh steering wheel anyway just so they know it will be harder to make off with, and only have a cruddy looking cd player.

I recently had a guy from Novis remove all of the fixed glass from a R33 shell.

The side windows are glued in the same way as a windscreen with a few plastic lugs in the window that locate it in the shell. New rear side windows cost more than $500 each from Nissan and good second hand ones are hard to come by. They must be removed correctly to be able to be used again.

Check with some of the wreckers on the forum to see if they have any - and I would have it professionally fitted to ensure that it does not leak in the future.

bad news for the glass then huh dammit . .

yea, i'll be quite stoked if the sedan door handles work in my coupe!

especially if the colours match up (silver facelift coupe / silver facelift sedan)

here's hoping!

Dont worry about the battery dying. You have two remotes :)

It hardly ever happens unless your really forgetful. And if it does, call your friend/mom/girlfriend and get her to brin the spare.

And if your really clever, call her on your cellphone. Put your cellphone close as you can to where the alarm module is mounted and get her to press the unlock button into the Mic of her cellphone.

Sounds silly? Try it :)

EDIT: I just clicked.. car battery not remote battery... ahaha. Yeah i guess the car battery dying would be a pain. But calling an auto locksmith isnt that bad. They get in in a few seconds without doing any damage. And you can always hook the bonnet release wire and pop the bonnet. (Mate locked his keys in the car with it running... epic LOL)

    • Checked with amayama and nope, the full S2 manual set is not available anymore. Unsurprising, but still disappointing as the ? on availability gave a glimmer of hope.
    • I've heard the Tomei USA head gaskets are decent if you want to o-ring the heads but otherwise not recommended.
    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
