haha lol at all the lines. "put out or get out" i like it :)

considering taking the back seats out...i'll save a bit of weight as well :) i'm so sick and tired or people getting lifts off me or just assuming that they can grab a lift. another bitch and two other my mates cracked it with me that same night because i wasn't giving them a lift home, and i was taking those 2 chicks home, even though there was never going to be room for my mates anyway and i'd told them at the start of the night they would have to catch a taxi! i bought my skyline for ME because i enjoy driving, looking after and modifying it, not to be everyones taxi or to pull the chicks (although it is a nice benefit at times;))

sorry guys i needed to vent somewhere, i'm not usually this much of a whinger!

well, i can say i have never picked up becuase of my car..... as i dont drive it out when im drinking... and everyone i know has a car so doesnt really mean shit.

and if you need to mention your car to pick up... then you should have spent the 20k on plastic surgery or personality re calibration.

haha yeah i took my seats out ages ago cause i was sick of having to take people in my car

"can u give me a lift?"

answer

"do u like being thrown around on steel brackets?"

yeah im with you dave, when people aske me what type of car i have i tell them i have a nissan and leave it at that.

people have expected lifts from me in the past. just make it clear that because you can drive doesnt mean your a taxi. They are responsible for themselves... its not your worry. i only pick people up in emergencies, ive only done that once and that was when my mates girlfriend broke up with him and kicked him out in the rain at 1am.

Im with Dave, I dont really see a skyline as an overly impressive car and id say the quality women wouldnt care either....

And if a chick is only into you for your car, then it is a well known fact that the NRNR rule applies...

NRNR=No Root No RIde...

All is fair in love and war...

that's another good one... No Root, No Ride.

I'm used to being used for my car... my g/f is pregnant (can you leave work and drive me here / there) but hey... I've only got myself to blame for knocking her up.

But I'm past all of it with my friends... I used to be they wanted me to drive them everywhere, but in my Coupe I gave them short shift and said that "it's too much hassle getting in and out the back seats". :)

NOW one of my mates in particular want's to borrow my car!

The only problem I can see is that I don't want to put him under my insurance... he has no idea what POWER is (he drives and old FORD UTE), and he'll right my skyline off on the first corner as his UTE hadles like a barge!

My car automatically locks the doors after 30sec, or after travelling 25km/h as some kind of anti-car-jack thing... and I'd stick by the NRNR rule... but bottom line is I have to be faithful as my g/f is pregnant... and one other thing...

Does the NRNR rule STILL HAVE TO APPLY when you're driving family members somewhere... sound's like a case for Jerry Springer :)

yeah i hate how much attention it gets me. like if they didn't want to talk to me before they found out what car i drove why should they afterwards! as i said i bought the car for me. i like akeenan's reply of simply "nissan", i think i'll be using that from now on :)

    • Ha, well, it's been.... a bit of a journey. Things have taken much longer than I'd hoped. I'll probably put up a thread at some stage. Hopefully soon. The car's not done any kms since my update in June though, put it that way.
    • Here's the chart for fuel pressure vs. current draw, assuming your base fuel pressure is 3 bar and you run like 0.5bar boost on WOT, you should only momentarily hit 9amps here and there. (Ignore my prev post, I cannot read a chart these days it seems)
    • Those comp test results are not hideous. Whether they are accurate or not (ie, when that comp tester says 140 psi, is the real pressure120, 140 or 160?) is unknown to us. The state of the battery used to crank it over is unknown, etc etc. Many people around here would say that the absolute values and the spread are perfectly fine to just add boost and keep going. I personally would be happier with a narrower spread than that, but even the diff between 125 and 145 is not terrible. That one cylinder at 125 though, has probably copped some damage relative to the others. You should inspect the valves seeing as you've got it open. Do you know how to measure installed ring gaps? That, and an inspection of the rings themselves, is how you will determine whether they need to be replaced. If you're not good to do these things, take the block and the pistons and rings to a shop that is, and ask them for the go/no-go on them. Do the bores need a hone at all? If so, you might well be justified in getting some different pistons in order to get away from the ring supply problem. Whether you're happy to spend a lot more money right now, on more gear, rather than less money, but an amount that looks stupid given that you will only get a handful of rings in exchange for that money, is for you to decide.
    • also possibly backed up to my filler and shat down it! 🤣
    • Ok so i would love some advice here please, i purchased an R33 a few months back and its had a few mods done to the engine, its an RB25det running a Master ECU, 1200cc injectors, bigger turbo, oil cooler, oil filter relocation kit, Spool H-beam rods, acl/ross pistons. When i removed the motor from the vehicle (as its getting a respray) i thought i would compression test it and these are the following results. Cylinder 1-145psi, Cylinder 2-143psi, Cylinder 3-125psi, Cylinder 4-145psi, Cylinder 5-140psi, Cylinder 6-135psi this test was done with the motor on the ground and powering up the starter motor. I dropped the sump and found broken oil squirters on cylinder 3,5 and 6. I was told my rings are probably worn so i stripped the motor completely to get a new set of rings for it. The trouble is no one has these rings anywhere and they have to be custom made by Ross over in the states and will cost about $600+$200 delivery. My question is how can i tell if my rings are at fault and if they are still ok and is this price ok for a set of rings?
