Speco Ammeter Installation

Finally got to do my gauge cluster. Oil Pressure an Temp no problem.

In the instruction sheet it shows three different ways to install in American vehicles. Has anyone installed in an S1 or know how to do it??

AMMETER usually sits inline with the charge lead to the alternator.

ammeter measures total amp draw right? if so you simply install it between the battery and alternator.

but they aren't a popular choice due to the current you have to run to the dash, and a volt gauge will tell you whether something is stuffed or not (12v = alternator not working, less means battery is being drained, nothing means the car has stopped ). some info here from autometer http://www.autometer.com/tech_faq_answer.a...sid=1&qid=5

I gave up on the ammeter and now have a voltmeter. That is what the forum is for.

ammeter;s are over rated anyways man.

not worth having one. It was the reason for my 1st car burning to the ground.
