I agree, obviously stuff is said tongue in cheek and I'm certain that whoever you are, if you get jumped from behind, natural instincts don't get a chance to play a role.

Having said that, seeing the car pull up behind, different peeps handle situations differently...........all that matters is that no one was seriously hurt though.

Damn sorry to read about the events in this thread. I'm glad you're ok and your car turned up - hopefully not damaged in any way other than an empty gas tank.

Cheers for the headsup about the black R34 because I'm stupid enough that if a Skyline was behind me and signalled to pull over, I would, thinking some dude with good taste in cars wants to talk shop. Now if any of you are trailing me you'd better be carrying your SAUSA membership card or else I'm going to taser your ass... with a 9V on the tongue. :)

Oh Steve I'm sure if all of the people on here were as tough as they are behind the keyboard there would be world peace and all that hippy shit. But the simple fact is if you're suprised and jumped by a group of guys you've lost all advantage of fighting back. Unless your trained like Ruby Roo is.

And no I'm not taking shots at anyone.

Agree alot is tongue in cheek. "What I would do" can of course be different in a real threatening situation. Some people are keyboard warriors, some are the real deal. Even a keyboard warrior, about to have his car ripped from him, can put up an impressive fight. While a 'tough guy' can be taken by surprise and 'lose the argument'. Point is, the situations are different and its how the individual handles the situation. Anything can happen ... even to a bloke like Pete or myself.

We're not trained to handle each and every situation. If 2-3 blokes try to jack my car, I'll size them up, look for weapons and then make my own judgement if its worth it. Add something into the equation, like my 10yo lad sitting in the car, and it suddenly becomes risky for the two of us, not just myself. I'd let them take the car, and get my boy out. Each situation has so many variables. I've backed down from threatening situations because it was a bit sus (no pun intended) and I couldn't make that judgement that it was worth fighting for.

As for BITSUS, he did the best he could do in that situation. Most people couldn't have done more. Kudos for him for trying. IMO (and its my opinion only, I wouldn't really recommend it) but if more people put up a fight and made it harder for these bastard thieves, we might see less car jackings. Thieves go for easy pickings because they are weak. BITSUS made their job a little harder this time around. So I agree, if everyone was as tough as they were on their keyboards, the world might be a little more disciplined.

:)

The police know who these ppl are. I've identified 2 of these ppl before and the police done nothing. I've chased them down hindley st before when they were in a stolen car.

Hope your ok mate.

will be on the look out for it :)

Common sense, amazing! Everyone says, yeah, bash the shit out of them, rar rar rar. But in reality, just give them the damned car, I'd rather them take my car, than my life

This is absolutly shit house that these pricks can just get anyway with thiss stuff, the thing is aswell you people say they would just kick there arse but until your put into that situation you can't really say what you would do, of corse some people will put up a fight but then what you could get bashed badly or killed, for what a car that you have insurance on, mind you if my fiance was in the car and this happened to me i would do everything to stop them from touching her, fortanity for me i am a chef and i can legally transport knifes in my car (Big F**k of shinny ones) and if i wore to be carjack i would use everything i have to protect my life and my fiance's,

on another note is 1 of the people in the black 34 a female cos i remember seeing a black 34 on hindley street and a female driving and 3 guys in there aswell, and they looked really suspect just don't like the fact that gangs of aboriginals can steal shit and not have a single thing done to them but i guy that gets done with public intoxication and a $25 bag of week got 6 months it just not justice in my eyes it should be 1 set of rules for everyone you f**k up for get punished for it not just told don't do it again for you "might" go to jail.

any way

Bit sus i hope that your car is alright and that your will and good (shame to hear about the 260 as well that thing was insane)

having been a victim of a home invasion all i can say is Fetal Position when faced with multiple assailants specially if there kicking the shit out of you bit sus only copped a little knock to the head enough to get the adrenalin flowing and try and get his keys

Have you all read page 2 of the Sunday Mail?

Turns out the kents blew 3rd gear as they took off (I knew the car didn't sound right as they flogged off in it!) and dumped my car 800 metres from where they stole it from me!

Other than the gearbox, theres some scrapes to the front bar, side skirt and a heap of tread missing off the rear tyres.

I've identified 2 of them, and one has been caught, and is looking at a minimum 12yrs.

My car was one of 4 taken by these guys Friday night, and there is still the stolen black R34 sitting worse for wear at the cop shop's impound area...(anyone missing a black 34?)

My wallet and and house keys were retrieved, but still missing my prescription sunglasses and 2 mobile phones.

So now thanks to a 800 Metre joyride, I have to pay a $3000+ insurance excess so I can get my gearbox rebuilt, the side skirt and front bar touched up and some new tyres....

oh yeh, and replace 2 x $1000 PDAs..

I don't care what colour thier skin is.

Chop thier f*cking fingers off I say.

Sincerly,

One mega pissed off Import enthusiust

Now living in fear.

Feel for you mate.

I was only thinking of this thread last night.

Went for a drive with a friend. Thought we would drive thru daveron park. peachy road. Never been thru this area before. Anyway. Within 5 mins saw aaround 10 drunks, heroin mums etc. then when I was coming to a junction a Motorbike comes flying out a side street, no lights. with two blokes on the bike. Right up my ass. I thought 'here we go'.ffs' They turned of just before I came to a stop.

Too much scum around. Makes me sick.

That sucks to here mate :) I've got a spare 33GTR gearbox laying around if you want to borrow it untill you get the funds to fix your gearbox you'd just need to use your transfer case with it.

Definitely sucks to hear the car needs repairs :)

I'd be pretty fkn pissed about it too and I know it doesn't really help your situation much but I'm happy to hear they've got at least one of them, hopefully they nail the others and make examples of them in court.

EDIT: I'm not sure if this link will provide any assistance to you because I don't know too much about it. One of my employees had her VL commo stolen and torched in Elizabeth last week and mentioned s'thing about it. Hope it can help somewhat...

    • Per Mark Roberts of Sonictune: Mark Robert Author At this time, no. No ETA either 2016-17 models. You will be able to purchase and install a 2018.5+ TCU though   TCU purchasing and pricing info! As we near the release of TCU tuning, I am going to answer some questions I get asked often.   What do I need for TCU tuning? At this time, you will need a 2018.5+ TCU to be able to tune. If you have a 2016-to early 2018, you will need to replace your TCU with the newer version. One good way to know if your TCU is good is if you have auto upshift in manual mode in 1st gear around 6500 rpms. If your manual 1st gear goes to 7k rpm and will hit the rev limiter unless you shift, you have the older TCU.   Why do I need to buy another ecu license/phone flash if I already have it on my ECU tune? The TCU is its own computer module. It is completely separate from the ECU. Because of this, you will be required to purchase a TCU license and, if your tuner has it, the phone flash license required to tune it via phone/bluetooth.   Do I need TCU tuning? TCU tuning is NOT required. However, the faster your setup, the more it will assist in track and dragy time consistency.   If I’m ECU tuned by (tuner A) can I get my TCU tuned by (Tuner ? Yes, since it’s a different module and a completely separate flash, you can have two different tuners. However, it is highly recommend that you have both tuned by the same tuner. For me, my TCU tuning will directly complement my ECU tuning style and features and running my ECU and another TCU or vice versa MIGHT cause some issues. At this time and for the foreseeable future, I will only be tuning my current ECU tuned customers TCUs.     I have a SYVECS AWD controller. Do I still need it? Yes! The AWD controllers main job is to control your AWD system. However, with TCU tuning, you will no longer need the auto-shift function as that will be done through the TCU. The AWD controller will still be very beneficial for racers looking to maximize traction on the launch.     Shift schedule changes: holding gears longer at lower pedal input as well as max shift rpm changes. Please note, the new ECU race rom coming out will address 90% of the shitty drivability issues these cars have through custom maps from myself and Racebox—as well as others I am sure.   Increase shift speeds: as seen in the videos I’ve been posting, the TCU shifts much faster once tuned.   Increased shift pressures: as also seen in the videos, much firmer full throttle shifts.

    • The fancy pants red shock tower brace is finally incoming from MX5 Mania, getting it shipped from 'Merica has been a long and problematic process, and GWR, the 'Merican supplier will not ship directly to consumers outside of the US, Mania basically had to order a heap of them, the colour choice was silver, or red, and we all know anything red adds 5 killerwasps of dynotorques..... Whilst it does fit over a 2.5, and I've seen a few photos and videos of it being installed and fitting, google also says it might get real close to the FAB9 intake front runner, people in the US says it does fit with the FAB9 intake, except for one person who said it slightly touched.......so there is that.....LOL..... As it seems that I am the first in AU to have this combination of parts there's no local knowledge about fitment, so I'm just a willing guinea pig in this endeavour, I'll cross my fingers and toes and hope for the best In other news, I ordered stuff from China  on the same day I ordered the 23° silicone bend from Victoria, the stuff from China arrived a day ago, the 23° silicone bend is still travelling around Australia thanks to Australia Post, and "may" be here next week
    • Very good news...I contacted Racebox about it last night. My car is a 2016 so remains to be seen if it is compatible, requires a TCU swap, or is impossible.
    • What ECU are you running? This is probably the biggest question. If it's a PowerFC, I'd probably change the ECU and get something newer that will handle the injectors in a nicer way.
