Hamish does have a valid point although something that really stumps me is why isn't an alarm system the first thing you get when you buy your pride an joy? ~$400 protection for your $12,000+ investment sounds pretty reasonable to me

It was on the stagea and 32 :)

club locks are/can be more effective and cheeper, if a thief is keen enough the noise from the alarm won't be a deterant. if you have a aftermarket steering wheel tho. don't bother 6 allen key bolts and swapped wheel is quicker then by-passing a alarm.

I put a imob and stuff in 1 of my cars and they still came back and stole it. (it was broken into a week before)

So how did the key's get locked in the car while it was on in the first place?

no idea ?

i am sure the car locked itself when i closed the door ?

the immobilser/keyless entry was on the keys

viper alarm?

they are american and have anti car jacking features such as the doors locking while you are driving...

BUT

as i said, they are american and hence it only works ever now and then, so you often dont notice that its there as you just think its the factory nissan one

quick relese steering wheel, lets see the bugger drive off with no steering wheel! and yeh skyines are the worst car eva designed takes about 11sec flat to unlock one and about 15sec to hotwire one with a turbo timer.

VLT has got to be easier :) my old VL was a joke to get into, all you needed was cutlery LOL

I think Hamish was more concerned about the instruction to pull the rubber back than the actual coat hanger to window switch part, but whatever.

How do you getting around steering column lock without totally removing the barrel?

need some help

i locked my key in the car ( car is still running ! )

running the car dry cant be good for it ?

anyone know a locksmith in melbourne ?

how much is going to cost me to open it ?

Nick, you idiot, this is too funny.... ba ha ha ha

Thats ridiculous I keep a Stanley knife in the back of my cars tool box....probably should go take it out

I think its only if it is in reach when you are inside the cabin of the car. If its in the boot in your tool box none the less its alright.

A mate of mine locked his VL keys inside his car. We went and got another one of my mated VL keys and it opened the door. It even started the engine.

just rip of the plastic cover for the colum and hit the barrel down the shaft done. dont hit it into the shaft stright down it will slide down the the steering colum and wont beable to lock into place but if you engage the steering lock before you do that it makes it a messy job.

you can get gps alarms now, they have a gps device in them and a sim card that texts you the location when you msg it.

best thing to do is get a guard dog that sleeps next to it and have good insurance.

do you think its wise to put information on a public forum on how to get around the steering wheel lock?

Thats pretty bad luck OP, i've seen the same thing happen on a VS commodore before, and it was eventually broken into with a piece of wire. try lockign the doors with the keys in your hand at all times maybe?

    • This car has run before on this z32 ecu can get the part number for you, I have tried with no AFM it didn’t change anything, I compression tested today 140-150 across all 6 cylinders, also set fuel pressure to 43psi. The only weird thing was cylinder 1 plug was black and fouled other 5 cylinders were just wet with fuel. Spun cas by hand and confirmed injectors are clicking

    • A 1.5 way is a 2 way. It is just a 2 way with a less aggressive ramp on overrun.
    • The ABS and/or TCS being missing/broken will not cause the engine to misbehave. It just casues CEL to come on and annoy you. The CEL is useless if it is always on, so you have to do the things you have to do to get rid of it, so it can be useful. Being a Stag ECU, then yes, it will not expect TCS to be present. But it will expect ABS to be present and working. You will need to either make the ABS CU talk to the ECU (don't ask me what that will take on an NA R34), and make sure the hardware is working....or, you just need to blank it out in Nistune. Do not persist with the stock ECU. You will just have problems. Gte it Nistuned. Start from there. DO YOU HAVE A BOOST SENSOR? The ECU's boost sensor that it. It is connected to the loom at the rear of the coil cover. Usually rides on the firewall on an R34, but is usually bolted down to a bracket along with all the other crap at the back of the coil cover when a Neo is dropped into another car. If you do not have it, the ECU will shit the bed. So, do you have one?
    • So sadly the fuel pump etc was not it. The pump and filter is new and it is still cutting around 4000 rpm. A read something about ABS/TCS (engine is from stagea and ECU too so no TCS) and i dont know for 100% that my car has ABS. It has ABS "cube" in engine bay but i dont think it works(or at least from my braking experience). Can be something like that?  I will be driving the car next week to Nistune tuner to properly see what is wrong...
