Hello Golgo, he said. Hello Golgo, said Golgo 2...

What's better than one Purple GTR VSpec?

How about two Purple GTR VSpecs!

A friend of mine just picked up his new toy. Again, similar mods to Golgo - wheels, exhaust - and in very good condition. Both are series 3 spec (although only the new one is a real series 3). Tell you what - those Xenon lights are bright when they follow you...

Cars sounded good together - you could hear the exhaust notes phasing. LMGT wheels suit the R33 shape nicely.

Might have to get the ICE boys togther for a photoshoot so we can have a foursome :D

Oh... and I'll buy a beer (or equavalent) for anyone who knows where I 'borrowed' the reference for the thread title :D

Had to set up a 'CarDomin' account to host the images. I feel so dirty :D

Every time I try to attach I get a server error. Has anyone got some FTP space I can dump these for the moment?

Can anyone else attach an image to a post?

Haha - not it's not B1 & B2 - nice try though :D

I have possibly over-obscured myself this time. We're talking very old school science-fiction - but recently sampled by Solid Steel...

No matter - the photos work now. Linked from CarDomain. Yay.

Not sure.

Both running exhausts, HKS pods and PowerFC. Both need a tune...

Will tune/dyno them at the same time - then it's off to Heathcote for the true test!

I think Golgo - but then, Golgo is best !

:D

well - a very nice set of cars there!

it reminds me when me and a mate both had proton satria GTI's (both silver of course).. it was like our own mini car club... im sure you will have lots of fun... just dont do what we did and stupidly crash into each other!

Last time I went to EvoR (on Westal Rd) - they had a purple 33 with bronze TE37s in the workshop. Pretty funny :)

An nope on the TtTE reference ;)

I think I have been far too obscure.

Sorry :)

Is from a Ray Bradbury (yep - that guy) sci-fi radio play called 'Marionettes Incorporated' - has been sampled recently by Solid Steel. Just thought perhaps there was someone who might have been a fan...

It's one of those cool Twilight-Zone style stories. Not unlike the sample on that mid-nineties techno 'Dead Eyes Open' track.

Will try to remain more mainstream next time I use an obscure pop-culture reference ;)

If anyone is keen - I can burn a copy of the CD, or email the track as an MP3. The whole CD is great - worth a spin.

I actually saw Golgo's closer twin the other night too - series 2, no bonnet lip - but bronze TE37s. Anyone know who this is?

See if we can get 5!

Just saw that car on thursday night, in St. Kilda. Was about to walk up and say hi to ya, but noticed the lack of stickers down the side ;). would have looked like a flippen fool, say "hi James" to a stranger :).

    • I put another 2 layers of putty and still getting pinholes. Think i might either try the filler first then putty or just leave the little specs of guidecoat as is and get primer to fill it in. I think i misread understood what you said above when you said my glazing putty wasnt enough for the size of the area. I thought you meant 1 coat and i needed to. But i think what you meant was that I needed filler first? I also went a bit too far out the repair area as my spreader is a bit large.
    • You do sorta. In my instance they were little specs and I didn't even think they'd be pin holes but it all makes sense now. Huge learnings there!
    • Ah ok that makes sense and it's where i think i went wrong because before when i put filler then putty, i didn't have this issue and now i do because i only put 1 coat of putty. Thanks for that heaps man, it's a good way to put it! With my putty I'm using the dolphin glaze which i just saw it says finishing putty lol. I didnt put filler cause it was a shallow area but i see what you're saying. Also I'm an idiot, i just realised that while i put new putty there are pinholes! I probably saw it before and ignored it for whatever reason. I think because i thought putty is used to fill pin holes that itself wont make pinholes but that's incorrect of course. I feel silly now haha. ok I think I know what to do next. Thanks man!
    • Yes correct, the guide coat is showing low spots, in this instance the low spots are pin holes. I agree wetting the areas makes it more visible (but you can see it's there before you wet it as well lol).  Once the panel is flat, the guide coat will be gone
    • I wouldn't do it outside, the contamination landing in the paint, the wind and a million other things will drive you crazy.     That's a way too big of an area to use your single stage putty on.  Pretend it's all filler and those pin holes appeared, you'd then use the putty on those pin holes.  They are still pin holes, hmm I expect a few coats of high fill primer could deal with those.
