Kid's Heart Gtr / M35 Wagon Article

Seen the pics before, never read the article, so thanks for that.

i now need some quality "alone" time after this little tidbit..

Kids Heart could have built this off the all-wheel-drive M35 Stagea, which comes with a turbocharged, 276-hp 2.5-liter VQ25DET V6. But because the people at Kids Heart are truly wild at heart, they've stuck with the rear-wheel-drive Stagea and look forward to replacing its prosaic Nissan VQ35 V6 with a turbocharged RB26DETT inline-6 from the previous-generation GT-R R34, making this car eminently driftable.

hmm 10k for the conversion...

Wonder if they would come here to do it for $17k???

Just needs a VQ35dett :)

Interesting article, but I wonder how accurate it is...

"This project begins with the current M35 Stagea"

Nope. M35 Stagea's ceased production in 2007.

That is the 2001-2004 Stagea.

"...they've stuck with the rear-wheel-drive Stagea and look forward to replacing its prosaic Nissan VQ35 V6..."

Nope.

That is a VQ25dd...

I know, I am being anal... but I would like to think that if someone writes an article, they would get their facts straight (or do a little research).

Should be interesting to see how they mate up the RB26 and which transmission they use.

a quick notch of the firewall and it would be fine. The C34 has a dash about half the depth of a M35 so no problems there. I cant say I think the handling would be up for much though, with all that extra cast iron hanging forward of the front axle. Still, it would be good to see, in the way that the S1 drift "ute" was cool.

lets do it

10K just for the body right?

10k for the conversion, but I guess it would cost that for the parts and shipping.

Would look bloody ace in your yellow... err I mean gold. :)

yup

most car magazines/websites are horrendously inaccurate! No one checks anything these days........

i remember when i had my feature, and i got the copy of the mag sent to me in the mail, i start

reading it and im like wtf, thats not how it went, no he didnt do that part!

It was all totally wrong but i guess they have to "edit" it to make it sound more interesting than it

is!

sounds like a car magazine!!

Yeh especially when they give credit to the wrong people, i get annoyed when someone plays

a big part in a build but only got a small mention or they put down that someone else did part

of the work that they didnt even do!

    • The price isn't the issue, it's how hard my fuel pump is to remove now. I fabricated a custom bracket so my pump sits on the very bottom of the tank (I ran the tank down to 5L remaining to test it, works well). But it is a fkn NIGHTMARE to get the pump down into the tank now =/ words can't describe how much I hate fighting with the fuel pump/hanger now. The other issue is reliability, I'm driving down for WTA in a couple of months, I'd be less then impressed if I was half way to Sydney from Brisbane and my pump fails again =/ The other issue I had was my car battery was slowly failing, with low battery voltage my fuel pump couldn't keep up with what the reg was asking from it. I've replaced the battery and my fuel pressure is back to being perfect.  As for the low voltage situation that killed my previous battery, I've got a 150amp alternator sitting on my desk waiting to go in. Fingers crossed that will sort that issue.
    • OK so I just bidded $500 on an R33 GTS4 that no one seems to want. Waiting on a call from the agent to see if I won. 32 GTS4 is for sale. I can't deal with the temptation to mod it.
    • Might be there for work later in the year. Wouldn't mind catching up with you fellas - can't have too many beers, but will consume copious amounts of takoyaki while executing an asian squat on the side of the road while you blokes sort out your hangovers.
    • I know one example is a anecdote not data, but I'm running the same Aeroflow 525 at full voltage through a regular relay, and while I've had other fuel problems including melting the factory fuel hat, the pump itself has been fine for years. Of course, they aren't *that* expensive these days, you could swap in a new one and see if the issue is resolve. I think you had a previous thread about fuel problems, have you been monitoring and logging fuel pressure? Is there anything voltage related (for example does the voltage go up when the pressure goes down)
