I will keep them as stock as possible and just want to know which one will hold their resale value better (after 1-2 years)? will be happy for any comments, Thanks

My budget is around 20k

Hey bud,

Both are good cars, if your going to get an EVO 6, try go for the better speced Tommy Makinen Edition, you say you'll keep them stock so ill assume they're not going to see much track time, EVO's are really focused and purpose built, very stiff and firm to drive but a real drivers car.

The DC5 is also focused but not as much as the EVO, great cars for the street if you don't mind the FWD format

In terms of value for money and depreciation, i think (subjectively) that the DC5 will hold its value better as it is newer and also P-Plate legal - thats where the money is atm, in naturally aspirated cars - i think so anyway

All the best happy hunting

Pictures also don't hurt =)

DC5R will hold its value better, and can probably resell easier.

Because DC5R is one of the fastest legal car for a P plater

yea man, since im quite a beginner to cars, so maybe should just stick to NA. Thanks for the great recomendation

Thanks alot for the awesome pics man ! Im always like to have a Championship White DC5 ! IMO the white is the best colour to go with the REDS for type R.

Yea, been thinking bout the TME as well but its just slightly off my budget since they cost around 5-6k more, but also, alot more awesome machine !

The JDM DC2R is such a nice looking machine!

my choice would be evo though - just love their performance! (am thinkning of getting an evo 7 next year) - but from what i can see, resale value is not as good for evos

Yea man, resale valueis one of the prob for evo i guess, the 9 drop like 6-7k ? in one year's time i think

c'mon juliette.... not only is it true, but its the most accurate statement jim's ever made on here :ermm:

torque steer yo FTL

Keeps you on your toes. It's no fun if you can't fight the steering wheel :P Torque steer is fine, understeer is horrible.

evo 6 is horrible

Yeah but it beats the "VTEC Lag" that the DC5R has. :P

Stretch the Budget and get a EVO 6.5 (TME)...it will hold its value, and is a WAY better car.

FWD is like winning a race @ the special Olympics....

    • Not at all, pure street use, touge, even drag strip and you'll be fine   There's a larger version of it too, however would be overkill for your application. If you do plan on using that sump, might as well fit a headdrain/crank case vent to help alleviate crank case pressure. Your mechanic will also notice you cannot re-use the AWD windage trays on the motor too, as it fouls with the AWD -> RWD sump. However given your usage, you'll be fine.
    • @GTSBoy yeah but the MAIN problem is that "you" guys may know that but i/my mechanic did not. I literally spend hours to find differences between Stagea and Skyline engine (even here) and found kinda "nothing" Yeah one guy mentioned that the block is larger/wider but nothing about the oil pan. Of course AWD has different one but "everybody" says...yeah just slap RWD pan... and the parts number for my N/A engine and NEO DET were the same so iam using one from my old engine. And of course being in EU/Czech many of the sites did not even show(i need VPN to be here)... @MBS206NO it is not my channel and not my video. Dont even know the guy. I just post this as a reference cuz i have the same problem. As i said you guys in AU/NZD may know this but here it is kinda a new info cuz IF someone doing this swap they already have oil pan or they make custom one.  @Dose Pipe Sutututu Yeah it is AWD RB25DET NEO Yeah as you mentioned the pick up is in a different place ...but i do not drift or track the car. It is and will be strictly street and just "casual" weekend cruiser. With that "custom" pan as shown in the video...could there be some problems?  For others. Iam sorry if that topic "looks" like i want to show/boost some YT channel or numbers. Iam quite the opposite.  I would rather drive my car thru sewers than get the attention that this car gets here. I do not have any YT channel nor IG/Twitter or TikTok. I just want some info from time to time cuz here...there is none :-)
