well..if this other kid has been kicking/punching/spitting on him..why are you punishing your son?

..it's only a sharpener?

I know what you are saying Jake - Why all the fuss over a sharpener. But I think it is more to do with the principal of him actually stealing something.

correct its not the actual thing he stole but the fact he stole something off someone, the sharpener in question is actually expencive for just a sharpener as in $8.00 it has gel that moves when you tip it upside down

$8 for a sharpener with gel? next it'll have neons and sick dose

But still..can't hurt to see what's going on with this other kid and his bullying antics.

picked locky up from school today and noticed he had a new sharpener the same as his but a different colour i asked where he got it from and he told me 2 stories, then i he told me he stole it off a kid that's been punching/kicking and spitting on him so as his punishment i have told him,

1. no playstation/wii/DS or t.v for 2 days

2. shower as soon as we are home from school and get into pj's then do homework for 2 days

3. eat dinner and then go to bed at 6:30 for 2 days

is this being harsh lol

i wouldnt have punished him at all, congratulated him. he was being picked on and he delt with the situation accordingly. i even would jhave encouraged him todo more. i was teased at school till i put my fist throu a desk, then noticed someone else ebing picked on (fight nearly broke out) i stepped in, they came for me, 6 of them v me, one ended up chucked head first into a brick wall the other was lifted off the ground by his collar and was about to get KO'd just as a teacher stepped in (the whole thing happened outside her office). so yes. id say to harsh, but if i were him i would have done more... and when in that situation i did. and my parents said i handed the situation well. i gave the 6 the oppertunity to walk away. they didnt. id be putting your child into self defence classes. it worked for me  and for the record. this wasnt at some dodgy school. its a private school which "doesnt tollerate bullying"

in my defence, in the lead up to all this, i gave the school/teachers many oppertunitys to curb the bullying.. years infact. then i snapped. if i were your child id have turned around and decked the kid.

thats just my opinion from personal experinces tho.

ps. im not an angry person. i just dont like the fact this school which will not be mentioned says they dont tollerate bullying. yet when things were bought to there attention they literally did nothing to stop it

thanx pete

i have found that this doesnt work either. the only way to make it stop is to make the bully fear him. this worked for me. put him in martial arts courses, let him kick the shit outta the little brat. and when talking to the teachers, being angry works, being poliet makes them blow you off. private schools = teachers are holier than thou. l

what a load of shit

no offence, but i went to a private school, and was more than aware of a bullying problem

they take it as seriously as the parent wants to make it. teaching the kid to get satisfaction in defeating a bully does nothing but turn the kid into a bully himself. the issue is the parents oversight, or lack of. kellie at least is able to discipline her child sensibly, some other parents need to do the same, otherwise their kids end up being little bastards.

remember, private schools NEED money from parents, which is why they try to milk cash out of them at every possible opportunity. threaten to tell the parents group or even go to the media, and they quickly lose their teeth.

maybe what worked for you did infact work for you, but I'll be damned if I ever encourage a child to be violent.

    • This looks great! Awesome to have the 5 speed with an LSD in this. The Recaro's look like SR2's or SR3's. It's a shame they've been retrimmed as they would have looked sweet in their original colours. I think I'd want my agent to be a little more up front and informative too. I've never imported but I reckon it would make me a little nervous, so the more info the better.
    • Thanks for doing that Duncan! Makes you a good person in my books. We don't get kangaroos or wombats here. But we have bats and it's similar. AFAIK it's often the mums with a baby attached that get hit because they drop lower when starting from a tree. If you hit an animal, check on it. https://www.ifaw.org/au/resources/wildlife-rescue-app An app to get the closest wildlife rescue contact.
    • My dream is also to have a proper hoist, but I don't think it will ever happen. My quickjack is probably as close as I'll ever get, it really is very good though.
    • Yeah we keep on in the dailies, it is pretty poor how many animals get hit and the driver leaves without checking....have saved a couple of little ones over the years. Bit of a gruesome job though, pouches generally need to be cut open because they are so tight and often the joey doesn't realise mum is gone so they are still locked onto the teat. I checked the modules in front of the DS wheel where an oil cooler should go.... There is the radar unit - that can go for race use) One of the 2 HX water pumps, the silver cylinder. That needs to be kept but might be able to be relocated But the bad news, the big computer mounted vertically in front of the wheel (blocking any potential air exit) is the electric steering computer. That is required until/unless i do a hydraulic steering conversion, and in CAD based modern car design it is not like I can just pop a big unit like that somewhere else (plus the loom would be too short anywhere else too). So, the passenger side is OK to clear out (just use a smaller washer reservoir, potentially elsewhere), but the DS no beuno
    • Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
