sorry dan :(

yeah respect my authoritile dan :P

sorry bored break from assingment

dan the Car Salesman: My name's dan, Sir. May I be of some help?

Memphis: That's funny, my name's dan... Two dans don't make a right.

[laughs]

Memphis: dan, I have a problem...

dan the Car Salesman: Yes?

Memphis: I've been in L.A. for three months now. I have money, I have taste. But I'm not on anybody's "A" list, and Saturday night is the loneliest night for the week for me.

dan the Car Salesman: Well, a GTR would certainly change that.

Memphis: Perhaps, Mmmm. But, you know, this is the one. Yes, yes yes... I saw three of these parked outside the local Starbucks this morning, which tells me only one thing. There's too many self-Indulgent hoons in this city with too much bloody money! Now, if I was driving a 1967 GTR S20...

dan the Car Salesman: You would not be a self-indulgent hoon, sir... You'd be a connoisseur.

Memphis: Precisely. Champagne would fall from the heavens. Doors would open. Velvet ropes would part.

Are you sure its not the faulty gauge on the dash, have you checked the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge?

I know the R32 oil pressure gauges go on their own accord sort of thing, done a bit of research on the forum

I say take it to a mechanic you use for everything and get them to puta mechanical gauge on it andgo from there asap last thing you want is a spun bearing. Once you get the true pressure reading then go from there. Be good to know what exactly your oil pressure is holding.

lol who's a grumpy bear :) u do realize technically uve done the same with that post :( but anyways all good mate

usually if you have a technical problem like this id say the place to go is the "maintenance topic" as engine troubles are not just restricted on a state by state basis people have these cars all over australia and can help give advice over the net the same as fellow sa people can. but i suppose having in sa section allows for that faint hope someone will be nice enough to come have a look at it in person for ya.

i was under the impression it would be deleted soon after, but yet here we are :D

and my oil temps do the same as chef has described, was under the impression thats the norm

+1 for dodgy gauge. My old 33 gtst gauge would play up from time to time and read about 50% lower than normal. switch the car off and back on and it would sometimes fix itself. Get someone to test it with a mechanical gauge before you go driving it around everywhere.

Dude, pull your f**ken head in.

If you got a problem with anyone here, then its >your< problem. You don't speak for me, and I quite like Dan's posts. You have no right to tell people what they can and cannot post. We have mods for that reason, and they haven't said anything... why? Because you're the only one getting the tampon in a twist. Next time you got an issue, bite your tongue and you won't look like an emo dickwad without a sense of humor.

    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
    • I don't get in here much anymore but I can help you with this.   The hole is a vent (air relief) for the brake proportioning valve, which is built into the master cylinder.    The bad news is that if brake fluid is leaking from that hole then it's getting past the proportioning valve seals.   The really bad news is that no spare parts are available for the proportioning valve either from Nissan or after market.     It's a bit of a PITA getting the proportioning valve out of the master cylinder body anyway but, fortunately, leaks from that area are rare in my experience. BTW, if those are copper (as such) brake lines you should get rid of them.    Bundy (steel) tube is a far better choice (and legal  in Australia - if that's where you are).
